00:00Welcome back. So far, we've met the Artemis 2 crew, explored their mission to the moon, and checked out the
00:06rocket that'll get them there.
00:07Now let's talk about where they'll live when they leave Earth, the Orion spacecraft.
00:13Orion is NASA's deep space crew vehicle, the astronauts home away from home, their control room and lifeboat for the
00:20entire journey around the moon.
00:22Behind me, you'll see the first prototype ever launched on display here at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
00:29Orion is built to handle the harshest environment humans have ever faced, extreme radiation, massive temperature swings, and deep space
00:36vacuum.
00:37Inside, Orion is packed with cutting-edge tech, from its launch abort system that can pull the crew to safety
00:43in seconds, to its heat shield, the largest ever built, protecting them during re-entry at 25,000 miles per
00:49hour.
00:50And yes, there's even a toilet.
00:53Everything about Orion is designed with one goal, bringing the crew home safely.
