00:00Et action !
00:02Hi, by the way !
00:03Hey !
00:04I'm not crazy !
00:05What should we say first ?
00:06Yeah, I like the new cyber clap.
00:10Good luck, have fun, don't die.
00:14Hey, I'm Sam Rockwell.
00:16The revolution begins tonight !
00:19And I'm here to tell you things in the future are completely fucked.
00:24What happens in the future is so bad.
00:26This story is an amazing dance between kind of comedy and tragedy.
00:32The world is completely messed up and the future is not looking bright.
00:37Can you put away your phones, please ?
00:39So much happens in this movie.
00:42Gore's been describing the movie as a psychotic opera,
00:46which I feel like is really accurate.
00:48This story is about a man from the future.
00:54I play the man from the future.
00:58He claims that he is the sort of keeper of saving the world.
01:04The man of the future is trying to stop the creation of AI.
01:07He has to find the right combination of people in this particular diner called Norms in Los Angeles
01:15to save the world and conquer AI.
01:23It's an interesting character.
01:24There's so many influences with the man from the future.
01:27Everything from Beetlejuice...
01:29Don't say his name !
01:30You know, Chris Lloyd in Back to the Future.
01:31Real brave, Scott.
01:32He's that prototype of the kooky professor, you know.
01:36Let me ask you something.
01:38Where did all the bookstores go, huh ?
01:40He talks a lot.
01:42It all started with morning phone time.
01:44At first, people stopped getting out of bed entirely.
01:47Are any of you even listening to me ?
01:49Ingrid ?
01:50She grows up as the most outcast of all outcasts
01:54because she can't really connect or be around anyone or anything in life.
02:00Just let me see it.
02:01Here ! What the hell ?
02:03I'm allergic to cell phones and Wi-Fi.
02:05Hi, my name is Asim Chowdhury and I play Scott.
02:08You weirdo.
02:09Scott is a kind of velour-wearing...
02:13So unnecessary !
02:14...fake gangster, phony soprano.
02:17He's just one of those guys who kind of is the loudest person in the room.
02:20Woo !
02:21Read the fucking room, Scott !
02:23Susan, she is a mother who has just lost her child
02:27and has then been given the opportunity to clone her boy.
02:30So when we first meet her at Norm's,
02:33she volunteers to go on this journey with the man from the future.
02:37You two, let's go !
02:38Janet and Mark, they're not gonna like me.
02:41It's probably true.
02:42I feel like they at one point had like a really good chemistry
02:45and they were very interested in each other,
02:48but they just stopped creating on it and making the marriage a marriage.
02:51Janet is married and is a teacher
02:55and hasn't really followed the path that she had anticipated for herself.
03:01Her arc ends up being finding love again
03:05and allowing herself to kind of see the truth.
03:09Oh, the sets are amazing.
03:12Norm's Diner was kind of incredible.
03:14You know, it really felt like we were in Los Angeles.
03:16The Norm's looks super real and it's such a huge set.
03:19And we were all taking pictures of it, you know.
03:22They're shooting the shit out of this thing, too.
03:24You know, James is kicking ass.
03:26Thus far, these sets have been incredible.
03:30It looks really good.
03:31And Sam's costume, I mean, it's unbelievable.
03:35This is my detonator.
03:37The detonator is actually not a detonator for a bomb.
03:41It's a trigger for what seems to be a time machine.
03:47Pretty personal, uh, set-up here.
03:52Gore Verbinski.
03:53Gore?
03:54Gore Verbinski.
03:55I am loving working with Gore.
03:57Gore, he's a son of a bitch.
03:59Yeah, put that in.
04:01Action!
04:02He's, like, a grown adult man,
04:04but there's, like, a really excited, like, little boy inside of him
04:09that's so impassioned and excited and, like, giddy to be making movies.
04:16Gore is, he's a master storyteller,
04:19and he really knows how to, obviously, move the camera.
04:22He's such a shooter, right?
04:23He's a, he's brilliant with the camera.
04:26He's comedically and dramatically significant as a director.
04:31Let's go, shitbird.
04:32Oh, okay, okay.
04:33Gore's a fun guy.
04:34He's got a lot of energy, especially on the night shoots.
04:37and brings out the cigar.
04:40I think, undeniably, as an actor,
04:42when you have a director that seems excited and happy
04:45when they're shooting things, you feel excited and happy, too.
04:47It's like Godzilla, it's...
04:53We've put our trust in this man, and he's taken us home.
04:56Let's do one more.
04:59And cut!
05:00True life!
05:01Have fun!
05:02Don't die!
