Is the Villainy feature in the upcoming game Judas by Ghost Story Games a repackaged version of the nemesis system? It must be different enough to avoid legal battles. What do you think of these kinds of features, and are you excited for Judas?

00:00The Nemesis System is finally back. So if you don't know what the Nemesis System is,
00:03it was an innovative system that was included in Shadow of Mordor for enemies. It allowed the AI
00:08with non-playable characters to remember their prior interactions. The Nemesis System is patented
00:12by Warner Brothers and is going to remain active until 2036. But now let me introduce you to one
00:17of my most anticipated games, and I'm sure many Bioshock fans know where I'm going with this,
00:22I'm talking about Judas. We've waited over 12 years for a new game from the Bioshock creator
00:26Ken Levine. He spent this entire decade building the ultimate Judas simulator. Now Judas includes
00:31a feature called Villainy, which seems to be heavily inspired by Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis
00:35System. In Mordor, orcs will remember your face, while in Judas, the big three will remember your
00:39choices. Judas was believed to be released in 2025, which obviously didn't happen. Many are still
00:44hopeful that it's slated for 2026. Let me know what you think in the comments. Is this feature
00:48just different enough to squeeze by the patent, and are you excited for Judas?
