00:01Good evening. Thanks for joining us. The teachers in the hospital and a student dead
00:06after a shooting at Hill Country College Prep High School in Bolverde, which is north of San Antonio.
00:12Box 7 Austin's Angela Shen is joining us live from the Comal County Sheriff's Office in New Braunfels
00:18with the story. Angela. Yeah, the Comal County Sheriff's Office finished up a press conference
00:24not too long ago. They say there are still a lot of unknowns as to why this happened and there's
00:30still
00:30a lot of witnesses that they have to interview. Now, according to the Sheriff's Office, this morning
00:35a teacher was shot by a 15-year-old boy before he turned the gun on himself. The teacher was
00:40taken
00:40to a San Antonio hospital. It's not clear what her condition is as of Monday afternoon. Officials
00:46reiterated that it was not an active shooter situation. The sheriff said the situation was
00:51contained very quickly and there was no ongoing threat once the students shot themselves.
00:55A lot of agencies came to help and this is something the sheriff's office trains for.
01:00There were about 250 students at Hill Country College Prep. They were reunified with their parents
01:05at Bolverde Middle School. The sheriff also said the Shooter's family was also at that reunification center.
01:13But I want the parents and the kinfolks of these children that were on this campus to know your kids,
01:20your children were protected and they were safe. And we will continue to have a presence as needed
01:26while we work through the next steps.
01:29And the sheriff's office says they'll share more information as they get it. They're still looking
01:34into where the gun came from, if there were warning signs from the student and if he was a student
01:39in that teacher's class and much more. The district says they were going to send out a letter to parents
01:45later today about what they can expect for tomorrow. Back to you. Angela Shen from New Braunfels. Thank you for
01:51that.
