00:00After a disappointing race in Japan, Max Verstappen has reflected on his future in Formula 1,
00:07questioning his passion for the sport and whether it still outweighs the personal sacrifices.
00:13After finishing in 8th place in Suzuka, Verstappen has admitted that he is indeed questioning
00:20whether he wants to carry on in the sport. He explained that recent rule changes to their
00:27engine had left him feeling disconnected and he said he was no longer enjoying the sport in the
00:33same way. After the race, Max Verstappen said he was thinking about everything within the paddock
00:40and whether continuing made sense. He shared that privately he felt content and the long seasons
00:46made him wonder if it was worth sacrificing time with family and friends. The four-time world champion
00:53who had dominated the sport from 2021 to 2024 had narrowly lost the previous title and has
01:00struggled early in 2026, including a retirement in China. Verstappen recalled that as a child he had
01:08dreamed of only racing without thinking about the success or money and he insisted that the
01:13enjoyment has always remained the priority. Verstappen added that while he still valued his
01:19team, which felt like a family, driving itself no longer brought the same joy each day.
