JUIN 2002. Lucie, Jane, Tim, Daniel, Rosy et John rêvent d'évasion. Une petite annonce relative à une nouvelle émission de télé répond à leurs attentes : "Recherchons candidats. Un an, £100 000." À leur grande stupéfaction, ils sont sélectionnés. Ils quittent leur emploi, leurs proches et leur domicile, prêts à se lancer dans l'aventure. Mais une fois à Londres, ils déchantent.
