00:00:07It's the battles of the battle of the champions.
00:00:11Yes.
00:00:11Battle time.
00:00:12Let's go battle.
00:00:13Let's go.
00:00:14Y'all are on one today.
00:00:15I love it.
00:00:19I was waiting for the beat to drop.
00:00:21That's the beat drop.
00:00:22I think these battles are more competitive than ever because it's just a very powerful,
00:00:26artistic season.
00:00:27Give it up for our coaches.
00:00:28But we also want to win the market.
00:00:31Hey, Blues fans.
00:00:32Benji Madden.
00:00:33My surprise little mentor situation.
00:00:35Adam is oftentimes my advisor.
00:00:38What is he talking about?
00:00:38There they are.
00:00:39We carpooled here.
00:00:40I know it's cute.
00:00:41Make sure you make a pee pee before we leave Benji.
00:00:44Oh, nice.
00:00:45It's battle time and that means it's time for me to bring in the big guns.
00:00:50Money long.
00:00:51Money long is here, y'all.
00:00:52You always wonder what people are looking for when they say that it factor.
00:00:56Like, what is that?
00:00:56What is it?
00:00:57You know, you feel it when certain people just have it.
00:00:59It's like, that thing.
00:01:02Man, how you boys family?
00:01:04It is me, Jay Hudge.
00:01:06Kelly.
00:01:06I got your back.
00:01:07I've been a coach, a mega mentor.
00:01:10You got the double trouble now.
00:01:12Y'all better look out.
00:01:13Y'all know I brought a shoe just in case.
00:01:16The last shoe I threw, the person who I threw the shoe at, guess what?
00:01:20Day one.
00:01:21Will it take a lot for you to throw a shoe today?
00:01:23I can't tell you.
00:01:24It hits my spirit and I don't even know I threw it.
00:01:26There it goes.
00:01:29I found another crush and I stayed again.
00:01:32Our friendship is kind of like me and Blake Sheldon if I liked Blake Sheldon.
00:01:36Does your wife ever, like, cause sometimes when we're texting.
00:01:40No, she'll be like, who are you talking to?
00:01:42Sometimes when we're texting.
00:01:42Why are you giggling?
00:01:43I'm like, I'm just talking to Benji.
00:01:45So, I put these people together, Drew and Jared, and they're both so good.
00:01:49Like, what have I done?
00:01:50You gotta let them find it out.
00:01:52Drew has a cool tone.
00:01:54He's got a great sound.
00:01:55Just a cool vibe in general.
00:01:57Jared, I mean, I can tell there's soul and there's a story.
00:02:00I think that there's a country element that connects them.
00:02:05It's really awesome Benji Madden's here.
00:02:07I mean, I grew up on his music.
00:02:09Good Charlotte, that's where I listened to in high school.
00:02:11All the alternative rock.
00:02:12Nice to meet you, man.
00:02:13Jared, it's Benji.
00:02:15Jared.
00:02:15Good to meet you, man.
00:02:16So, to get his guidance and to meet him is awesome.
00:02:20We're excited about this pairing.
00:02:21I feel like you did a great job.
00:02:23Well, I'm gonna cry, though, because you guys are both gonna be so good.
00:02:26You guys look cool as hell.
00:02:28You really do.
00:02:29You guys look pretty badass together.
00:02:31You looked the part.
00:02:32We look good.
00:02:33We're ready.
00:02:33So, this song, um, makes me cry.
00:02:38I've heard you sing it, by the way.
00:02:39You have?
00:02:40I've heard.
00:02:40A couple times.
00:02:41Have you ever heard him sing it on a voicemail, though?
00:02:43Because I have.
00:02:43I sing it to Benji on a voicemail.
00:02:45I gave Drew and Jared Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley.
00:02:49It's folky.
00:02:50It's country.
00:02:50It's rock and roll.
00:02:51It's a lot of little things you love, you know?
00:02:53Of all the songs in the world, this might be a song that I have the most experience with.
00:02:57I sang the song with Stevie Nicks to my wife at our wedding.
00:03:01If you don't like this song, then I don't like you.
00:03:06I know it means a lot to him, so there's always that little, uh, nervousness, I guess,
00:03:12to perform a song that means a lot to my coach.
00:03:14But this is the kind of music that I love as an artist, so I'm just really happy we got
00:03:18it.
00:03:19Let's do it.
00:03:19All right.
00:03:21Love is forever, face to face.
00:03:25The song is kind of what helped me put them together.
00:03:29Country, rock and roll, I feel like they both are cut from that same cloth.
00:03:33I need you to love me, I need you today.
00:03:38Drew has kind of a cool lane, because I don't hear anybody that sounds like her.
00:03:43She can really bring something special to the song that you don't hear every day.
00:03:47I need you to love me, I need you.
00:03:50Jared's got such a cool sort of, like, country, sort of rocky voice.
00:03:55And he has range that I didn't know he had, you know?
00:03:58Because he didn't sing that high in a blind audition.
00:04:02It's good to push yourself, and I think he sounds really cool in his upper register, too.
00:04:07That was beautiful, guys.
00:04:09A couple stars.
00:04:09You guys both have your own swagger.
00:04:12I'm such a fan of you guys.
00:04:13I think that for me, you never want to be copying, right?
00:04:16But at the same time, you have to be reverent to the record, too,
00:04:20because it's such a special record that, like, holds a place in so many people's hearts.
00:04:23The power of the song is in the simplicity.
00:04:26So all of that emotion and power is there without trying to do too much.
00:04:29This is a big choice.
00:04:31It's exciting, but it's also maybe a little bit nerve-wracking.
00:04:34You want to keep the respect on it, yeah.
00:04:35Yeah, because it's such a classic and such an all-time great song.
00:04:38I feel like it's gonna stand out if you can tap into where that song in your soul sits
00:04:44and what it means to you.
00:04:46To win this battle, I need to completely let go and relate to that feeling of that vulnerability
00:04:52and that rawness that comes with falling in love with someone.
00:04:56My husband and I got married in 2022, and we are very opposite in a lot of ways.
00:05:01I'm leather and lace.
00:05:02I don't know.
00:05:03Sometimes I'm leather.
00:05:03Sometimes I'm lace.
00:05:04Ben, as a father, is amazing.
00:05:06He is crazy supportive of me, especially my musicianship.
00:05:10I can take the space and the time that I need to pursue what's important to me.
00:05:13And as a mom and a wife or just a partner in general, that's not something that a lot of
00:05:17people get,
00:05:18and I'm really grateful for that.
00:05:19This is obviously an epic love song, and I love Jared, but we're not in love.
00:05:23Yeah.
00:05:24So, like, where do you go to really sell that story?
00:05:28I don't see it like you're playing a part because then it can be fake.
00:05:31It's the love of music.
00:05:32Like I said, I've sung this song with all the people.
00:05:34Mm-hmm.
00:05:34And our love of the song is kind of the romantic part of it.
00:05:39Yeah.
00:05:39Right?
00:05:39It's not targeted at each other.
00:05:41Like, if Benji and I were singing it, it would definitely be a love song.
00:05:44We would be, yeah.
00:05:44I was gonna say.
00:05:45For each other.
00:05:45Wait, hold up, Adam.
00:05:46I was gonna say, when we sing it together.
00:05:48Yeah.
00:05:49You both do make each other feel even more special, you know, singing together,
00:05:54because your voices are so different.
00:05:56It's also not bad if it scares you a little bit.
00:05:58Those nerves can be really good.
00:05:59It's just raw.
00:06:01It's real.
00:06:0190% of this game is comfort.
00:06:03You know, if you can feel good about yourself, and then it helps you propel what you're trying
00:06:07to sing.
00:06:08I need you to love me.
00:06:11And Benji's good at helping me unlock that in some of these singers.
00:06:16That was infinitely better.
00:06:18It just immediately jumped the level.
00:06:19You guys are already starting to feel that chemistry.
00:06:22Just get lost in the lyrics.
00:06:24The more kind of intimate it can feel, the better people will react to it.
00:06:27Yeah.
00:06:28I got to really focus on pouring more of that soul and that feeling into the song.
00:06:33For me, this song is about a complicated relationship that's had its ups and downs.
00:06:38My girlfriend's name is Chapin.
00:06:39Most of the challenges in our relationship center around my life as a musician.
00:06:45Every weekend, I'm in a different town.
00:06:47So being gone a lot, it's very difficult.
00:06:49But she's here to back me all the way.
00:06:52She's the one that pushed me to sign up.
00:06:54So if it wasn't for her, I would not be here.
00:06:56You know, we just gave you the note.
00:06:58And while you're singing it, you're thinking, all right, how am I applying that?
00:07:01But the more you do it, you're gonna get locked in.
00:07:03Just keep running this repetition.
00:07:05Ten more times and we'll be ready.
00:07:06You know what I'm saying?
00:07:07We're very excited.
00:07:08Thank you guys.
00:07:09Thank you guys so much.
00:07:10The stakes are high for this battle.
00:07:12We're performing on this massive stage for millions of people watching at home.
00:07:18All right.
00:07:19Ready?
00:07:19Here we go.
00:07:22This song, it requires a very clear vulnerability that takes time to build.
00:07:32My dad, David Thomas, is in the jazz acapella group Take Six.
00:07:37I always want to make my dad proud whenever I'm doing anything musical.
00:07:40He knows I've been working hard at this.
00:07:42And for him to hear that all come together on stage for the battles is gonna be really cool.
00:07:49I definitely don't think the coaches have seen what I can do yet.
00:07:52We're just gonna go out there and we're gonna crush it.
00:07:58They're like a good looking couple.
00:08:00Yeah.
00:08:02This battle begins right now.
00:08:032.
00:08:173.
00:08:243.
00:08:255.
00:08:286.
00:08:295.
00:08:296.
00:08:291.
00:08:313.
00:08:312.
00:08:324.
00:08:33I try not to be, I search on me for something I can't see
00:08:39Nice!
00:08:41Still I carry this feeling when you walked into my house
00:08:48That I won't be walking out the door
00:08:53Lovers forever, face to face
00:08:59My city on mountains, stay with me, stay
00:09:05I need you to love me, I need you today
00:09:11Give to me your leather, take from me my lace
00:09:19You in the moonlight, with your sleepy eyes
00:09:26Could you ever love a man like me?
00:09:32And you were right
00:09:35When I walked into your house
00:09:38I knew I was never gonna leave
00:09:43But that time I saw you
00:09:46I knew with you the light of my life
00:09:50Oh somehow I get by
00:09:54Nice, yeah
00:09:56Lovers forever, face to face
00:10:02My city on mountains, stay with me, stay
00:10:07I need you to love me, I need you today
00:10:13I love his voice
00:10:15Give to me your leather, take from me my lace
00:10:21Take from me my lace
00:10:26Sing, boy!
00:10:28Take from me my lace
00:10:36I love that was damn good
00:10:37So good!
00:10:40Yeah!
00:10:41Yeah!
00:10:42That was so cool!
00:10:44First of all, not to be superficial though you guys would make a hot couple
00:10:47I don't know what your dating status is
00:10:49Honestly, after hearing you I think you should be a duo
00:10:52You sound great together, you look good together
00:10:54Let's think about it
00:10:55Drew's married, Drew's married
00:10:57Never mind, never mind
00:10:58You can still have a group though
00:11:00It was really beautiful, your harmony sounded so great
00:11:03That was such a great song choice I thought for both of you
00:11:05Drew, I really loved at the top of your range
00:11:08That little shred that was in your voice
00:11:11It sounded so cool
00:11:12Jared, I just decided that you're one of my favorite male vocalists this season
00:11:16Thank you
00:11:17I just love the tone of your voice, like the rasp in it
00:11:21You just sound like a star to me
00:11:23You're like the real deal
00:11:25It was the perfect song, so well done Adam for that
00:11:29It was the perfect song for both of you
00:11:32How John was talking about your ache that will break in your voice, Drew
00:11:36But also the vibrato
00:11:38It was perfect
00:11:39And Jared, you open your mouth
00:11:41And it's like, I feel like I'm at your concert
00:11:43I actually think the both of you compliment each other
00:11:46And you actually make each other better
00:11:49That's why I said the group thing
00:11:51And it's unexpected, which makes it more exciting as a fan
00:11:54Thank you coaches
00:11:56Adam, tough decision coming up
00:11:58Give us some thoughts first
00:11:58This song to me is just a heavyweight champion of songs in my life
00:12:03Like I sang this song with Stevie Nicks to my wife at our wedding
00:12:06You know what I mean?
00:12:07What?
00:12:08Like, I did, that happened
00:12:09It really happened
00:12:10I think it really happened
00:12:11I pinched myself sometimes
00:12:12So it made it even harder, I think, for you guys
00:12:15Because I was gonna go and be uber critical of it
00:12:17And in the rehearsals, to be completely honest
00:12:20The promise was there
00:12:21And the vibe was there
00:12:23But it just wasn't where it needed to be yet
00:12:25And I was hoping that it would really come to fruition in time for this thing
00:12:29And it really did
00:12:29It was so beautiful
00:12:31Thank you guys for really doing it, doing it right
00:12:33Beautiful
00:12:35Drew, like, there were moments where it was so Stevie-esque
00:12:38And she is obviously one of the greatest ever to do it
00:12:43And Jared, Don Henley's a beast
00:12:45It's really, really rangy for a male vocalist
00:12:47And you crushed it
00:12:49You guys really stepped up and you're both just incredible
00:12:52Great job, great job
00:12:54Thank you
00:12:55Adam, congrats on a great battle, but the time has come
00:12:58Who is the winner of this battle?
00:13:00You know, something happened to me when I listened to this one today
00:13:06It really hit me out of left field
00:13:08The winner of this battle is Jared
00:13:13Jared, moving on to the knockouts for Team Adam, congratulations
00:13:16I got a hero in mind for you
00:13:17Thank you
00:13:19Nice job, buddy
00:13:20Thank you
00:13:21Amazing, dude
00:13:22Jared could win this thing
00:13:23Like, there's something about him, like, he's special
00:13:26I can't wait to get into it with Jared
00:13:28I think we're gonna have a lot of taste in common, believe it or not
00:13:30And I think that's gonna be really, really fun
00:13:31Drew, anything you wanna say to your coach?
00:13:34I am just so incredibly grateful for this opportunity
00:13:37And honestly, your taste, the song choice, Jared as a partner was also incredible
00:13:41And I couldn't be more thankful, so thank you for everything
00:13:44You were awesome
00:13:45Give it up one more time for Drew Russell, everybody
00:13:48I wish I could've taken you both
00:13:50You guys were both so great
00:13:51Thank you
00:13:51It was really, really special
00:13:52Thank you
00:13:53That was so good, Drew
00:13:54It was beautiful
00:13:55Just speak about it, Russell and Shoemaker
00:13:58I'm just saying
00:13:59I wish I not only had a steal, but I don't know if it's ever been done on this show
00:14:02I wish you could just be, like, pairing
00:14:06And you could, like, pair people together
00:14:08They really sounded great together
00:14:09They would brush it together in comfort
00:14:12I know, they would
00:14:13Man, Team Adam is stronger than I remember in the blinds
00:14:17I just was like, that was amazing
00:14:19They looked and sounded great together
00:14:20Yeah
00:14:20Yeah
00:14:21We have people that keep surprising us, so that's fun
00:14:24Coming up
00:14:25Just go high
00:14:27Incredible performances
00:14:34Wow
00:14:35Difficult decisions
00:14:37You are so screwed
00:14:39Yeah, I know
00:14:40Adam, the time has come
00:14:42Just give me a second
00:14:43Let's go to commercial
00:14:44Yeah
00:14:44We'll be back
00:14:45I wish I could steal
00:14:47And the final steal of the battles
00:14:55Just have gifts of that
00:15:05Welcome back to The Voice, Battle of Champions
00:15:11Hi, Carson
00:15:14Carson
00:15:14Carson Daly
00:15:19Carson Daly
00:15:24Carson Daly
00:15:26Carson Daly
00:15:26Carson Daly
00:15:26Carson Daly
00:15:27All decisions are final
00:15:28Not excited
00:15:29Oh, no, you can't steal somebody now
00:15:31No
00:15:32It's just you
00:15:33Thanks for the pressure
00:15:34Oh, my people are going next
00:15:38It's Houston and Tia
00:15:39It's Houston and Tia
00:15:40And they're both so good
00:15:40But they're both very different
00:15:41I really don't know which one I'm going to pick
00:15:47It's The Voice, Battle of Champions
00:15:48And it feels like a battle of champions right now
00:15:51Father help me
00:15:52Anxiety before I go out
00:15:53It's just starting to get to me a little
00:15:54Um, could I have a moment?
00:15:56I just need to
00:15:57I want to take a minute, please
00:15:59Yeah, cause I don't want to cry
00:16:06Breathe
00:16:06Breathe
00:16:07This song's very challenging for me
00:16:09And I just want to be able to perform it the way I know that I can
00:16:12I'm ready to go sing my tush off, that's for sure
00:16:15This is a different genre than what I normally sing
00:16:18I want to show Kelly my versatility
00:16:22Entry now from Team Kelly
00:16:24Houston Kelly
00:16:28Versus Tia Durant
00:16:30To win this battle, I'm going to put everything I've got out on the line
00:16:33And I'm going to hope that's enough
00:16:35You ready, girl?
00:16:36Opportunities like this don't come very often
00:16:38Losing is not an option
00:16:40I don't want to miss it out
00:16:49When it was announced that we were going to be battling each other
00:16:51I was initially thinking like, what are they thinking?
00:16:54Me too
00:16:55And I know
00:16:55I wonder if something like that would work
00:17:00Clyde, is he soulful?
00:17:03He said he'd sing gospel, did he not?
00:17:05So Houston leans heavily towards Chris Stapleton
00:17:08Oh, oh
00:17:09There you go
00:17:10Listen, she can sing anything
00:17:12Yeah
00:17:12This is meant to be then
00:17:14Okay, I'm going to put Houston and Tia together
00:17:16I think this mix between country and soul
00:17:20I never heard it until we started singing, but it works
00:17:23We have to come up with a name for it
00:17:25Ah, yeah
00:17:26Sontry or something
00:17:27Soul and country
00:17:28Something will come up with it
00:17:29I think I am ready
00:17:33It's me, Jennifer
00:17:35I came to see about you
00:17:37Can I give you a hug first, Tia?
00:17:39Nice to meet you
00:17:40Oh wow, it's a pleasure
00:17:41Today seeing Jennifer Hudson
00:17:43It was definitely a surreal moment
00:17:45Not only is she an incredible singer, she is an incredible actress
00:17:49She is doing things that I am inspired to do
00:17:53Unfortunately, Kelly couldn't be here today, so she asked me to step in
00:17:58I hear y'all got a gospel background, both of you?
00:18:01Yes, ma'am
00:18:01So my dad, he was a gospel singer and when he was in college, he toured with a little group
00:18:06and they would go to local churches and sing around and then he was in a quartet when I was
00:18:09a kid
00:18:10I love to write and I love to be creative in that way and I think that came from my
00:18:13dad
00:18:13He put it in you, I love that
00:18:15Absolutely
00:18:16Now tell me about you, Tia, what's your roots?
00:18:17My upbringing is in church, I'm from a small town
00:18:20So, faith, faith, faith
00:18:22Yes
00:18:22My grandfather used to sing and of course he pushed me up there to do it
00:18:26So, definitely I got a lot of my confidence in church and my, yeah, go ahead baby, you got it
00:18:31That type of thing
00:18:32That's alright baby, go head on
00:18:34Definitely
00:18:34I love it
00:18:35I see Miss Kelly put y'all together for that reason
00:18:38And she also picked a Chris Stapleton song for you guys because it has a blend of country, blues, soul,
00:18:45gospel
00:18:46Now we know
00:18:46So, put your faith in that
00:18:48Alright, now take it away, Houston
00:18:51The only time we ever talk
00:18:53Is when the monthly bills are due
00:18:58We go to work, we go to church
00:19:02They're singing Either Way by Chris Stapleton
00:19:05Kelly knew exactly what she was doing when she made this pairing
00:19:09The word will come
00:19:11Tia has a pop soul vibe with a touch of gospel
00:19:15Baby you can go or you can stay
00:19:21Houston has this huge country gritty voice
00:19:26But I won't love you either way
00:19:30It's just, hmm, it works
00:19:33I won't love you either way
00:19:39Holy smokes
00:19:42Thank you
00:19:42Don't y'all come up in here with all of this
00:19:45Yeah
00:19:46I was very honored to have a shoe thrown at me
00:19:49By Miss Hudson
00:19:50I need my collection play now, okay?
00:19:54Listen, this is what I'm talking about
00:19:56Tell the story
00:19:58Thank you so much
00:19:59Because it's so powerful
00:20:01I would love to hear your testimony and what you're singing
00:20:04And then hearing your testimony and what you're singing
00:20:07Where you're going through what you're going through
00:20:09But you're going through it in your own tracks
00:20:11Does that make sense?
00:20:12Yeah
00:20:13The song is so emotional
00:20:15Not only is it about love and storytelling
00:20:18Which is what soul is about
00:20:19It's about a deep vulnerability that I haven't always been open to
00:20:24And there is power in vulnerability
00:20:26What's the very end?
00:20:28On stage, we definitely want to give it some dramatic
00:20:31So I suggested the turn away
00:20:33Right
00:20:34Like the, I won't love you either way
00:20:37So how you physically did that?
00:20:39Okay, now put it in the vocal
00:20:41You're contemplating
00:20:42So let it be a thought
00:20:43You see what I'm saying?
00:20:44You over here, when you do separate
00:20:46That's what I mean by putting in the lyrics
00:20:48So it's like, what do I want either way?
00:20:50That's taking them on that journey
00:20:51Where you're figuring it out like
00:20:54Either way
00:20:54So it doesn't have to be collective
00:20:56No
00:20:57It doesn't have to be that at the end
00:20:58Because that's you
00:20:59Yeah
00:20:59Contemplating your journey
00:21:00I don't want to go
00:21:03Either way
00:21:05Either way
00:21:08It's like a conversational, emotional ending
00:21:10Either way
00:21:11Yeah, I like it
00:21:12Whatever, whatever you feel
00:21:13Put it out there
00:21:15Your granddaddy, your daddy taught y'all well
00:21:18Yeah
00:21:19Okay, they gonna be proud
00:21:20Thank you
00:21:21I'm proud, so Kelly gonna be real proud
00:21:23Yeah, yeah, yeah
00:21:23Did I throw enough shoes?
00:21:24Yeah, you did
00:21:25Y'all got some more?
00:21:27Ah!
00:21:28Tia and Houston?
00:21:29How is Kelly gonna pick between the two of them?
00:21:32I'm so glad I'm not Kelly
00:21:34This is gonna be tough
00:21:36Just keep in mind
00:21:37It's a competition
00:21:39Sound wonderful together
00:21:40But this is called The Voice
00:21:43Not voices, The Voice
00:21:44Now my heart's beating fast
00:21:46You don't wanna talk about nervous
00:21:48I got put up against the riffle
00:21:49Come on now
00:21:50What I do know
00:21:51Is the coaches better get they shoes
00:21:53And their tissues ready
00:21:56That's what I know
00:21:57Thank you so much
00:21:58Yay!
00:21:59Yes
00:21:59That went pretty solid
00:22:02Who would you pick as the winner of this battle?
00:22:05Get The Voice app now and play along
00:22:16Welcome back to night two of the battles
00:22:21Oh, yes!
00:22:24Bing, y'all!
00:22:25This battle starts now
00:22:27All right
00:22:36We pass in the hall
00:22:39On our way to separate rooms
00:22:42The only time we ever talk
00:22:46Mmm
00:22:46Is when the monthly bills are due
00:22:50We go to work
00:22:52We go to church
00:22:54We fade the perfect line
00:22:57Sing, girl!
00:23:03I'm past the point of giving a dance
00:23:07Dang!
00:23:09And all my tears are crying
00:23:14Hey!
00:23:17We can just go home like this
00:23:23Say the word we'll call liquid
00:23:31Baby you can go or you can stay
00:23:38Wow
00:23:40I won't love you either way
00:23:45I won't love you either way
00:23:47Yeah
00:23:48Yeah
00:23:50I used to cry and stay up nights
00:23:55Wonder what went wrong
00:24:03Thank Thea
00:24:07It's been hard
00:24:09It's been hard but hard to lonely do that for so long
00:24:14For so long
00:24:17For so long
00:24:19We can't just go home like this
00:24:25Say the word we'll call liquid
00:24:31Quix
00:24:33Baby you can go or you can stay
00:24:42I won't love you either way
00:24:46Oh, no, no.
00:24:49No, no, no.
00:24:52Either way.
00:24:58We're doing good performances today.
00:25:00It's a good day.
00:25:02It's a good day.
00:25:04Oh, man.
00:25:06You're amazing. You're amazing.
00:25:08Phenomenal.
00:25:09Thank God.
00:25:11Yeah.
00:25:12Man, that was crazy. You guys did great.
00:25:16Tia, I turned for you.
00:25:18I lost.
00:25:20Houston, I didn't turn for you.
00:25:22But I got to tell you, I was really, really blown away.
00:25:24You were a major revelation, Houston, for me today.
00:25:26That rasp in your voice in your upper register,
00:25:28especially when you're singing Chris Stapleton,
00:25:29who is, like, the master of that, right?
00:25:31You really fulfilled a tall order
00:25:33in being able to stay with that
00:25:35and do those big, gutty, high notes with rasp.
00:25:38But I'm jealous of that.
00:25:40Tia, I love you, but I think if I was choosing,
00:25:42I might actually go with Houston today.
00:25:44Thank you so much.
00:25:45You were both great.
00:25:46I'm not trying to choose favorites.
00:25:47Oh, no, I need help.
00:25:48Well, y'all made it hard for her,
00:25:50so congratulations for making it hard for her.
00:25:52Houston, I was very impressed with you.
00:25:54That higher part of your voice just really crackled
00:25:57in a really beautiful way.
00:25:58But I will say I would choose Tia in this battle,
00:26:01not to contradict my friend over there,
00:26:04but I just feel like the tone was perfect.
00:26:07Oh, my God.
00:26:07I loved your runs.
00:26:08They were just so tastefully done,
00:26:11interesting and subtle.
00:26:12Your tone was just liquid gold.
00:26:15I just wanted to listen to you sing all day.
00:26:17Like, I couldn't see her going home after that.
00:26:19Oh, thank you so much.
00:26:21Thank you, coaches.
00:26:23Wow, Kelly, I can see the anguish on your face already.
00:26:27Battle of the champions, they've all been really good,
00:26:29and they make for difficult decisions.
00:26:30What did you think about the whole battle first?
00:26:32This has been the hardest battles for me
00:26:34because I wasn't able to be there at rehearsals.
00:26:38You know, Jennifer, I do remember her telling me
00:26:39she threw her shoe in y'alls rehearsal.
00:26:41She was like...
00:26:43The shoe was thrown.
00:26:44She doesn't do that for everyone.
00:26:45That's how you know you did it right.
00:26:46She just said it was such a great pairing,
00:26:48and so I knew that you could both handle this song.
00:26:51Handled it.
00:26:51You both did such a great job.
00:26:53Like, Tia, once again, you did some really interesting stuff
00:26:55that was really cool.
00:26:56I think that's what's special about you
00:26:58is where your brain takes you melodically.
00:27:00I think is very interesting, and not many singers do.
00:27:04And, Houston, your subtle vibrato
00:27:06and the emotion behind that
00:27:07was something unexpected.
00:27:09I knew you would be able to do the big stuff,
00:27:11but that really intimate stuff was really special,
00:27:14and I think just as powerful.
00:27:16Oh, man.
00:27:17Mmm.
00:27:18I am, like, shaking. Okay.
00:27:20Kelly, tough one for you.
00:27:22I honestly don't know which one.
00:27:24I hate this right now.
00:27:27Oh, my God.
00:27:28Somebody's stalling.
00:27:29And you both.
00:27:30I know.
00:27:31You both chose different people.
00:27:32Yeah, we didn't help.
00:27:33Kelly, who is the winner of this battle?
00:27:37Um, just give me a second.
00:27:38Let's go to commercial.
00:27:39Yeah.
00:27:40We'll be back.
00:27:41This is almost.
00:27:42I know, I know, I know, I know.
00:27:43This is so hard.
00:27:44This is so hard.
00:27:53Welcome back to the Battles.
00:27:54Oh.
00:27:56Oh.
00:27:57Okay.
00:28:00The winner of this battle...
00:28:04is Houston.
00:28:06Houston, shocked, is moving on to the knockouts
00:28:10with Team Kelly.
00:28:11This was by far my hardest decision.
00:28:14Both are incredible singers,
00:28:15but Houston showed me in the battles
00:28:18that he's got even more in his arsenal
00:28:20that I did not know about.
00:28:21I'm excited to work with you, team.
00:28:22I'm sweating.
00:28:23Houston may have some more shoes
00:28:24thrown at him, y'all.
00:28:25Thank you so much.
00:28:27Thank y'all guys.
00:28:28Great job, brother.
00:28:28It makes me feel really good
00:28:30that she wants to take me to the knockouts,
00:28:31and I'm very hopeful that I can deliver
00:28:33what she's hoping for.
00:28:34Oh, that was very hard.
00:28:36I just was so surprised by him.
00:28:38I just loved how he sounded
00:28:39in the very beginning.
00:28:40I feel like he won that.
00:28:41I'm really looking forward to work under Kelly.
00:28:43I know I didn't get to work with her
00:28:44this first time,
00:28:45so I'm really excited to get her expertise
00:28:47and her insight.
00:28:48Got Team Kelly going to the knockouts.
00:28:50Thank y'all so much.
00:28:52I love this song.
00:28:53You have a Spanish song coming up.
00:28:55Oh, my sharia more. Oh, yeah.
00:28:58My sharia more.
00:29:00Mi querido amor.
00:29:04Having fun?
00:29:05I'm having a great time, man.
00:29:06It's like we've just been doing this together
00:29:08for years.
00:29:09Feels right.
00:29:10Like, almost like we're brothers.
00:29:12Like we're bros.
00:29:13Yeah.
00:29:15Buenas, buenas.
00:29:16This is Aziz Guerra,
00:29:17and I'm about to find out
00:29:18who I'm going to be paired with
00:29:19for battles.
00:29:20I got the best singing partner
00:29:22y'all give me.
00:29:23Oh, my God.
00:29:23I got Jeremy.
00:29:25Jeremy's voice,
00:29:26I love how smooth it is.
00:29:27He's always on pitch.
00:29:28That is something that I got to focus
00:29:30a little bit more on.
00:29:31It's just getting super competitive.
00:29:32I just want to make it to knockouts.
00:29:35Aziz, his baritone voice is so rich.
00:29:38He's very delicate at the same time.
00:29:40He does everything well.
00:29:41You know, he just makes me want
00:29:42to step my game up even more.
00:29:43It's going to be amazing, amazing, amazing.
00:29:45Yes.
00:29:46This was my hardest pairing,
00:29:48because Aziz, he sang entirely in Spanish,
00:29:50and he's so singularly his own thing.
00:29:52But I felt like Jeremy would be maybe a good person,
00:29:55and the song helps me decide.
00:29:58Oh, my God.
00:29:58What up?
00:29:59It's Benji.
00:30:00Benji Madden, ladies and gentlemen.
00:30:02Benji Madden.
00:30:03Legend.
00:30:04Benji.
00:30:05This is Benji Madden right here.
00:30:06Like, I was not expecting that.
00:30:08Huge fan.
00:30:08Huge fan.
00:30:09Seeing Benji was my childhood all over again.
00:30:14MTV, there was no way you could avoid Good Charlotte.
00:30:16I love this song.
00:30:17It's beautiful.
00:30:18And the fact that we can sing it in English and Spanish.
00:30:20I know, I love that.
00:30:21It's just you in Spanish,
00:30:21or you can do Spanish, too?
00:30:22He's going to sing in Spanish, too.
00:30:23Oh, yes.
00:30:24I gave Aziz and Jeremy my shorty amor by Stevie Wonder.
00:30:27Big shoes to fill,
00:30:28as Stevie is literally, like,
00:30:30the baddest singer of all time.
00:30:31It's nice when a song comes around
00:30:32and, like, makes sense for two people on my team.
00:30:35It also is great,
00:30:36because it's a challenge for you, Jeremy.
00:30:38I love that you're singing in Spanish.
00:30:40I've been wanting to sing a song in Spanish for a minute, so...
00:30:43All right.
00:30:44Jeremy, do you speak Spanish?
00:30:45A little bit.
00:30:46I'm not, like, fluent, but...
00:30:48Un poquito.
00:30:48Un poquito, yeah.
00:30:49Okay.
00:30:50I love it.
00:30:51Let's sing.
00:30:52My sherry amor
00:30:56Pretty little one that I adore
00:30:59Jeremy, you can just tell
00:31:01that he's put the hours and hours and hours and hours in.
00:31:04It's a really rich tone.
00:31:06Yeah.
00:31:06Sweet, soulful, but deep.
00:31:08That's a big voice to take on.
00:31:11Mi querido amor
00:31:14Eres tu la flor que yo soñé
00:31:19Aziz's voice, I kind of felt like
00:31:21there was, like, a little bit of, like, old-school crooner kind of vibe.
00:31:25Aziz's like the Latin Josh Groban.
00:31:27Yeah, that's a great comp.
00:31:28Right?
00:31:29Yeah.
00:31:29If he leans into that, then he'll shine.
00:31:34Sounded good in Spanish.
00:31:36Okay.
00:31:37Started off great.
00:31:39Towards the end, it started to get too overharmonized.
00:31:44Okay.
00:31:44I don't want to sacrifice energy for harmony.
00:31:47Jeremy, being a background singer, every once in a while, I hear you go into a very safe place.
00:31:52Yes.
00:31:53Because that's what you're used to doing, but I would say, like, try your best to break out of that.
00:31:57You have the license to be freer and not be restricted by what you've had to do in the past
00:32:02to be a support system.
00:32:03Being a backup singer is a really tough gig.
00:32:07Definitely.
00:32:07You're there, you know, in service of a different record.
00:32:10And, you know, to get to go out behind your own music, I think, like, make sure you don't hold
00:32:17yourself back either.
00:32:18Right.
00:32:18And, yeah, don't let it be a weakness.
00:32:19Make it a strength.
00:32:20Outside of The Voice, I worked on a cruise ship.
00:32:23Three shows a night, six nights a week.
00:32:26I don't think you work harder anywhere else.
00:32:29I've also been a background vocalist pretty much my whole career.
00:32:33And this time, it's about me.
00:32:35It's about preparing Jeremy.
00:32:37The lights are on me.
00:32:38The pressure is on me.
00:32:39I want to show Adam that I am an artist and I take risks.
00:32:45Aziz, I just don't want it to be too chill.
00:32:49You know what I'm saying?
00:32:49Okay.
00:32:50A little bit more urgency.
00:32:51Everybody's different.
00:32:52You'll have something that's unique to you.
00:32:54Get to know yourself as you go.
00:32:56Right.
00:32:56Definitely.
00:32:57Gotcha.
00:32:58I'm currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
00:33:01Being here is just so much different.
00:33:04Right now, I'm just singing casually in front of Adam Levine.
00:33:08I would love to win the battle.
00:33:10Just being here is literally a dream come true.
00:33:12Right on.
00:33:13Yeah, guys.
00:33:13Awesome.
00:33:14Thank you, guys.
00:33:15My guys.
00:33:15Let's go.
00:33:16I think if Jeremy can really step up and be the lead singer, you know, he's got the voice for
00:33:22it.
00:33:22I don't like to pick sides so early, but yes, I don't disagree with you.
00:33:26Jeremy is definitely in the lead, but there's been so many times someone's been in the lead.
00:33:31Yeah.
00:33:31And all of a sudden, you just don't know.
00:33:45Welcome back.
00:33:50This battle starts now.
00:33:58My sherry amor, lovely as a summer day.
00:34:06All right.
00:34:08My sherry amor, distant as the Milky Way.
00:34:17My sherry amor, pretty little one that I adore.
00:34:26You're the only girl my heart beats for.
00:34:30How I wish that you were mine.
00:34:36Por la calle voy, pregunto a todos al pasar.
00:34:46Yo te busco, y no te puedo encontrar.
00:34:55My sherry amor, won't you tell me how good you ignore.
00:35:04Not behind that little smile I wore.
00:35:09How I wish that you were mine.
00:35:13Okay, okay.
00:35:51You're the only girl my heart beats for.
00:35:56How I wish that you were mine.
00:36:01La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
00:36:20la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
00:36:27la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
00:36:27la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
00:36:27la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
00:36:27la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
00:36:37I'd like to have a talk with Adam briefly before we get into this.
00:36:42Jeremy and I sang Ordinary People together, and my heart was broken after that when he
00:36:49chose Team Adam.
00:36:51Oh yeah, remember that?
00:36:53I get it.
00:36:54Well, that was beautiful, guys.
00:36:55Both of you sounded magnificent.
00:36:57I said, if I were to choose, I would pick Jeremy, as much as it breaks my heart that he's
00:37:02even
00:37:03on your team.
00:37:09Just have GIFs of that.
00:37:12All of my GIFs online are from The Voice.
00:37:15Same.
00:37:16Same.
00:37:17I think that you both did a really great job.
00:37:20I loved your runs equally.
00:37:21I thought they were very different.
00:37:23Obviously, you have very different voices.
00:37:24Azeed, your voice, especially when you hold it out on those big, soaring notes, that
00:37:28vibrato that comes into play.
00:37:30It's beautiful.
00:37:31Thank you so much, Kelly.
00:37:32And then, Jeremy, every time you just started a phrase, it was like, oh!
00:37:36I thought it was an equal playing field.
00:37:38I thought both of you did a great job.
00:37:41It's a tough one.
00:37:41I don't like it.
00:37:42Thank you, coaches.
00:37:43Appreciate it.
00:37:44Adam, you got a tough one here.
00:37:45Both of you guys did everything that was asked of you and more.
00:37:50And that is always, you know, like what makes this whole thing brutal to have to make a decision.
00:37:54I want you both to know I'm really, really, really happy and proud of both of you guys.
00:37:59You're doing a great job.
00:38:00Yeah.
00:38:02Adam, the time has come.
00:38:04Yeah.
00:38:05Who is the winner of this battle?
00:38:07I think that this person is ready now.
00:38:11And so that's why the winner of this battle is Jeremy.
00:38:17Jeremy, you're moving on to the back out for Team Adam, congratulations.
00:38:21Jeremy is no longer a background singer.
00:38:23He's coming into the foreground, and I'm really proud of him because he's doing all the things.
00:38:26Thank you, man.
00:38:27Thank you very much.
00:38:28Jeremy's voice has presence, and Jeremy was just so good and so right on the money,
00:38:32and just he deserved to advance.
00:38:34Luna's on Duolingo.
00:38:35Oh, you're on Duolingo?
00:38:36Nice.
00:38:36What do you learn in Spanish?
00:38:37Yeah.
00:38:38Do you know like colors yet or like azul?
00:38:42Yeah.
00:38:42What's verde, Lou?
00:38:43What's verde?
00:38:44Blanco.
00:38:46I like the Spanish.
00:38:47I thought he was sweet.
00:38:55Welcome back to the Battles.
00:38:58Drewski, these battles, they've been so intense.
00:39:01It kind of reminds me of the 95 Eastern Conference semifinals.
00:39:05That's the year I was born.
00:39:07What?
00:39:08It reminds me of my family get-togethers.
00:39:10A lot of yelling, fighting, and stealing.
00:39:12Speaking of stealing, Adam is the only coach with a steal left.
00:39:16Adam has attempted to steal before, but it hasn't worked out yet, you know?
00:39:19What do you mean?
00:39:20I know what he's going through mentally, but he needs to use that pressure.
00:39:24Dig deep.
00:39:25Hit that button at the right time.
00:39:27Well, let's see what happens.
00:39:28I'm next.
00:39:28Oh my God, they're doing Walk On By?
00:39:31They sound really good on it.
00:39:32I love that song.
00:39:33The country girl sounds amazing on it.
00:39:35Our team is so lucky to have Money Long.
00:39:38I'm so grateful to be here.
00:39:40I'm super excited to share my knowledge with this next generation of artists
00:39:44and be a trailblazer and chop down the trees and make the path so that it's not as tough for
00:39:50people that come behind me.
00:39:51So let's talk about these artists.
00:39:53We've got Kendra versus Natasha.
00:39:56We are partnering together for battle.
00:40:00She can moonwalk.
00:40:01She's got to do this in the performance.
00:40:03How do you do that?
00:40:04It's all in the ankles.
00:40:05Natasha and I couldn't be different on so many levels to where I'm always hot and I need a fan.
00:40:10I'm freezing so I'm putting on a rope.
00:40:13They are so different and I was like, how do I find a song for the both of them?
00:40:18And I went to Dionne Warwick, Walk On By.
00:40:21Yeah, Dionne's got smooth and she's got grit.
00:40:23Exactly.
00:40:24Let's do it.
00:40:26Hello, ladies.
00:40:28So there's John Legend and there's Money Long.
00:40:31This is sick.
00:40:32She's written amazing songs like California King Bed by Rihanna.
00:40:38I'm a songwriter back in Nashville for movies and TV shows.
00:40:43I am so excited to hear input from such an accomplished writer.
00:40:49Both of you got your boots on today.
00:40:51We're ready to walk on by.
00:40:52Walk on by.
00:40:53I like what she did there.
00:40:54When we got this song, I was like, let's go.
00:40:57This is so in my wheelhouse.
00:40:58I was like, let me look it up.
00:41:01Well, this is a classic.
00:41:02And the thing about great songwriting is you can translate it to different genres.
00:41:08Yeah.
00:41:08Let's do it.
00:41:09If you see me walking down the street.
00:41:12I love Natasha because she's got such style in her voice.
00:41:14It has like a grace to it.
00:41:17It's just silky, slinky.
00:41:19And I really love that she owns it.
00:41:21She doesn't try to do anything that doesn't feel like it's her.
00:41:25Walk on by.
00:41:28Kendra is so raspy and like gritty.
00:41:30She kind of gives me a little Amy Winehouse vibe.
00:41:33And it just kind of sounds like vinyl.
00:41:34Smoky.
00:41:35She just sings the melody in a way that is so full.
00:41:41Kendra, I like how you broke up the walk on by.
00:41:45When the call and response, don't stop.
00:41:49You're not stepping on each other.
00:41:51So sing it.
00:41:52Can we address the harmonics in the bridge?
00:41:55Something was rubbing to me.
00:41:57We just arranged it to what we thought.
00:41:59I'll help you like compose something together.
00:42:03Oh, don't stop once you walk on by.
00:42:12Once you walk on by.
00:42:16That's it.
00:42:17That's the vibe.
00:42:18I love that.
00:42:18It's just simpler, you know?
00:42:20Yeah.
00:42:21John Legend truly is a master at his craft.
00:42:24And how lucky am I to have a person like that as my coach.
00:42:30Back home, I was a dental hygienist in Nashville.
00:42:34I'll see you next time, girl.
00:42:36I lost my job coming out here to follow my dreams.
00:42:40If I'm going to win this battle, I'm going to need to show John everything that I'm made of.
00:42:45Thank you both so much.
00:42:47Both of them are really great at what they do.
00:42:50On the day of battles, it's going to be about who shows up being their best self.
00:42:55Let's go!
00:42:58Hey, Jack.
00:42:59Let the battle begin.
00:43:07If you see me walking down the street, and I start to cry, each time we meet, walk on
00:43:17back.
00:43:21Walk on back.
00:43:23Okay.
00:43:23All right.
00:43:24I believe, that you don't see the tears, just let me breathe, and probably cause each time
00:43:34I see you, I'll break down and cry.
00:43:40Walk on back.
00:43:41Walk on back.
00:43:41Don't you stop.
00:43:44Walk on back.
00:43:46Walk on back.
00:43:46Don't you stop.
00:43:49Walk on back.
00:43:54I just can't get over losing you
00:43:59And so if I see you broken and blow
00:44:03Walk on by
00:44:07Oh, walk on by
00:44:12Foolish pride is all that I've loved
00:44:16So let me hide this feeling inside
00:44:21And I tell you when you say goodbye
00:44:27Walk on by
00:44:29Don't stop
00:44:31Walk on by
00:44:33Walk on by
00:44:34Don't stop
00:44:36Oh, don't stop
00:44:41Oh, won't you walk on by
00:44:44Oh, why don't you walk on by
00:44:49Hey
00:44:50Walk on by
00:44:54Oh, walk on by
00:44:59Foolish pride
00:45:02That's all that I am, so let me hide
00:45:07This feeling inside me
00:45:10I can't help but tell you goodbye
00:45:15Walk on by
00:45:20Walk on by
00:45:25Walk on by
00:45:28Walk on by
00:45:29Walk on by
00:45:55Walk on by
00:45:57Walk on by
00:45:58Walk on by
00:46:05Walk on by
00:46:07Walk on by
00:46:07Walk on by
00:46:08Walk on by
00:46:08Walk on by
00:46:08Walk on by
00:46:08Walk on by
00:46:09Walk on by
00:46:09Walk on by
00:46:09Walk on by
00:46:09Walk on by
00:46:09Walk on by
00:46:09Walk on by
00:46:11Walk on by
00:46:12Walk on by
00:46:15Walk on by
00:46:23Walk on by
00:46:29And then, Natasha, you're very smooth, very sultry.
00:46:34Well done, both of you.
00:46:35Josh, who is the winner of this battle?
00:46:40The winner of this battle is Natasha.
00:46:46Natasha, congratulations!
00:46:48Kendra and Natasha, they both sounded great.
00:46:50And I just slightly prefer Natasha's approach.
00:46:54Well done!
00:46:55I love the subtleties in her voice.
00:46:58It has this smoothness that I really appreciate.
00:47:00Thank you very much.
00:47:02I'm so excited for the knockouts
00:47:03because that's when they choose their own song again.
00:47:07We really get to start to round out our image of these artists
00:47:11and what their taste is and what style they want to sing.
00:47:13So I'm really excited to see Natasha.
00:47:23Welcome back to The Battles.
00:47:26Hi. Hi.
00:47:27I'm Jennifer.
00:47:28Oh, my God.
00:47:29The one and only.
00:47:29Kelly called me and she said,
00:47:31can you come see about my fabulous team?
00:47:33Woo!
00:47:33You are in great hands.
00:47:35Yes.
00:47:35Because I was once a coach on The Voice.
00:47:39She's beautiful.
00:47:40Am I cute?
00:47:41Oh, my God.
00:47:41You're great.
00:47:41And I'm doing OK.
00:47:42Yeah, yeah.
00:47:43Kelly told me you can really sing.
00:47:45We got to make a crowd.
00:47:46Yeah.
00:47:47All right.
00:47:48I'll go take away, Chacha.
00:47:49A kiss, a touch.
00:47:51Erin and Jonah.
00:47:53They're singing the first time from Damiano Davis.
00:47:56Kelly picked this song because it's relatively new.
00:47:58And she thought this song would be a big challenge for them.
00:48:01And I think she's right.
00:48:02They're powerhouse voices from two completely different genres.
00:48:06You have rock in the stage world, which is an interesting mashup.
00:48:13But they both have range that does not end, which makes it, oof, a competition.
00:48:20First time we met.
00:48:23I ain't got no shoes, so I have to throw the paper.
00:48:26I love that.
00:48:27Jonah.
00:48:27Yeah.
00:48:28You're so captivating to watch.
00:48:30You see the story as you're singing it and you're creating that picture.
00:48:34And I know Kelly wanted to hear you venture off into, like, rock and, you know, outside
00:48:39of classical or opera.
00:48:40Would you say that is a challenge for you?
00:48:42Oh, 1,000%, yeah.
00:48:43Because my first song was more like an Italian poppera, Andrea Bertelli-style song.
00:48:49Just sing.
00:48:49Okay.
00:48:50Don't think about it.
00:48:51As my grandmama would say, stay in flat foot and sing.
00:48:53Because you have the gift naturally.
00:48:55I miss Kelly, but, oh my God, J-Hud is my happy place.
00:49:00She was saying to me, I'm okay, I can trust myself.
00:49:02I had three to four jobs, I've been singing at weddings, funerals, sounds a little grim,
00:49:07but everything that I've been doing has been leading up to this moment.
00:49:11And as beautiful as a voice as Erin's is, that's not my voice.
00:49:15And I am happy to show them what I can do with my voice in this song.
00:49:18And then for you, Erin, all you gotta do is know the song.
00:49:20Let it just be the wind beneath your wings, okay?
00:49:23Yeah.
00:49:23Because you want to perform it, become it, and you want the people to feel like,
00:49:28I could do anything, oh my God, you know?
00:49:31But somewhere in there, Erin, you need to find a way to get yourself a good little note.
00:49:35It's gonna take it to another level.
00:49:37This is a competition.
00:49:39You gotta let him know, baby, I am still here.
00:49:40There is a magnetism about Jennifer Hudson, and she reminded me, this is a competition.
00:49:45I've performed in all 50 states and all throughout the world.
00:49:48If I lose the battle, I'll definitely be disappointed.
00:49:51Jonah's an amazing performer, he has a great voice,
00:49:53and there really isn't anyone else like him in this competition.
00:49:56Time to step it up a little bit.
00:49:57Be you, both of you, to the fullest, because what?
00:50:01That's what got you here.
00:50:02Amen.
00:50:02Erin and Jonah.
00:50:04It is going to be a true battle for Kelly.
00:50:07And I'm glad I'm not Kelly, okay?
00:50:10Let the competition begin!
00:50:13Battling now from Team Kelly, Erin LaVigne versus Jonah Mayer!
00:50:26This battle starts now.
00:50:34I thought my heart had felt it all.
00:50:43I swam for miles across the ocean, never really sure.
00:50:49My eyes were closed, my eyes were low, just getting drunk on peels and forces, craving something more.
00:51:05Trouble, but it got me nowhere, nothing could ever compare.
00:51:12A kiss, a touch, a song that made me cry, and all the drugs, I've done it, that couldn't get
00:51:19me higher than the first time we met, there's nothing like the first time we met.
00:51:27Yeah, I crashed my car, oh baby, I was flying, and I talked to God, He couldn't get me higher
00:51:35than the first time we met.
00:51:38There's nothing like the first time, the first time we met.
00:51:47You set the room on fire, you take the angels higher.
00:51:55I heard a thousand choirs, oh baby, you ain't seen nothing yet.
00:52:02I traveled the world, I traveled the world, I got me nowhere, nothing could ever compare.
00:52:09A kiss, a touch, a song that made me cry, and the drugs, I've done it, could never get me
00:52:15higher than the first time we met.
00:52:19There's nothing like the first time we met.
00:52:23I pressed my car, oh baby, I was flying, and I talked to God, He couldn't get me higher than
00:52:31the first time we met.
00:52:34There's nothing like the first time, the first time we met.
00:52:44The first time we met
00:52:51The first time we met
00:52:54The first time we met
00:53:00Yeah!
00:53:02Good job, buddy.
00:53:03All right, fellas!
00:53:04Hello!
00:53:05It was great.
00:53:06The energy was amazing.
00:53:07Honestly, like, a lot of this game of singing is performance.
00:53:10If you can't kind of go for it,
00:53:12then you won't be able to succeed in this business.
00:53:14But I also think that there's this weird balance
00:53:16you have to strike between having that energy
00:53:19that I know you guys had,
00:53:20and also containing it enough
00:53:23to maintain control of your instrument.
00:53:25And that sounds so lame,
00:53:27but what I was thinking the whole time was like,
00:53:29I wish we could, like, get our breathing under control right now
00:53:32so I could hear some more that you guys have to offer
00:53:34because you guys are both really powerful singers.
00:53:35Yeah.
00:53:36I think both of you, when you hit those big, glorious high notes,
00:53:39that's what I love.
00:53:40I just feel like Jonah's opera angle,
00:53:44we could explore his strengths in the competition.
00:53:49Thank you, coaches!
00:53:50All right, Kelly, got a tough decision here in a minute.
00:53:53Give us some thoughts on the battle first, please.
00:53:55You're both like firecrackers.
00:53:57And I think both of you equally had some pitch issues,
00:54:01but Aaron, man, I mean, we all heard it.
00:54:04That note that you went up for there, that's incredible.
00:54:07Your range is incredible.
00:54:08And then even Jonah, whenever you went for your big notes,
00:54:11you have this roundness that just fills the space.
00:54:15You got a tough decision here.
00:54:16Who is the winner of this battle?
00:54:18I'm gonna have to go on what I think
00:54:20will stand out a little more in the end.
00:54:23So the winner of this battle is Jonah.
00:54:27Jonah, congratulations!
00:54:28We both are very talented,
00:54:30but there is something very special to me about Jonah.
00:54:32I feel like he had a little bit more edge than Aaron.
00:54:35Jonah's special.
00:54:36I like his energy.
00:54:37I'm so excited!
00:54:39Woo!
00:54:41That's Jonah.
00:54:42I think that's Jonah, yeah.
00:54:43That's Jonah.
00:54:45Told you, he's a firecracker.
00:54:55Welcome back.
00:54:57I don't know about you.
00:54:58I'm feeling kind of nervous.
00:54:58Like, just with these doors right now,
00:55:00I'm like, okay, so it's real, got it?
00:55:01Yeah, I wasn't really feeling nervous now.
00:55:04Until this moment.
00:55:05Yeah.
00:55:05It's keeping it a little bit.
00:55:06Yeah.
00:55:07So I want to introduce you to Ashley and Syd.
00:55:10Ashley did a kind of country pop, country rock vibe.
00:55:13There's pictures of you and I on the walls around me.
00:55:19We heard your tone, the way you jump between different parts
00:55:22of your voice.
00:55:23And the fact that you're doing all that at the age of 18
00:55:25is just so impressive.
00:55:27And then Syd is like a waler.
00:55:30She sang, uh, Jessie J, which is not easy.
00:55:34While there is something going down, like the storm in the sky.
00:55:41Did you just win the voice?
00:55:43Is the voice over?
00:55:44My team is full.
00:55:46I'm so angry.
00:55:47I literally have one spot left on my team.
00:55:49You were sent from heaven, Syd, to fill that final spot.
00:55:53And you can win this competition.
00:55:58So we'll see.
00:55:59I'm excited.
00:56:00Yeah, let's get in here.
00:56:02Ashley and Syd, you know, I felt like they would both give me
00:56:05a powerful, big pop diva performance.
00:56:08And I gave them the mother of all pop diva performances
00:56:12with a really classic Mariah Carey song called Love Takes Time.
00:56:16This song is a doozy.
00:56:19I can't wait to hear what you do with it.
00:56:21Definitely.
00:56:22This is the voice.
00:56:23I want y'all to come out here and flex on them.
00:56:26I don't wanna be here.
00:56:29Mariah has that belty chest voice.
00:56:32She's got a deep lower register as well.
00:56:34And I think both Syd and Ashley have those things.
00:56:38I love when Ashley's doing the attitude in Syd.
00:56:43It's like her tone just hits you in the face.
00:56:46I mean, every time they sang together, I kept getting chills.
00:56:49Mm-hmm.
00:56:50All right.
00:56:51This is amazing.
00:56:52It's really good.
00:56:53It's like you're super passionate.
00:56:54You have attitude.
00:56:56Like, I love when you, like, do it.
00:56:59Yeah.
00:56:59Yes.
00:57:00When you do that super long high note, just take it back a little.
00:57:03Okay.
00:57:03Just to let the lead, uh,
00:57:04because she's really doing the lead at that point.
00:57:06Mm-hmm.
00:57:06So it's not too clashing, you know?
00:57:08Yeah.
00:57:09It feels very humbling to learn from people with such out-of-this-world talent.
00:57:16I'm, like, pinching myself by, like, going home and sobbing.
00:57:19I've been a wedding singer now for about three years.
00:57:23It's so fun.
00:57:24It's like I don't even go to work, which is so cool.
00:57:27The voice is a really big step for me.
00:57:29Just so people can see me as an artist.
00:57:33Writing this battle would prove to myself that you're here for a reason.
00:57:37And you just gotta keep going.
00:57:39Ashley, my main advice would be just thinking about how you transition between your head voice and your chest voice.
00:57:45Because it felt a little bit disjointed.
00:57:47And maybe just decide, stay in my chest voice, because it'll be easier to keep it smooth.
00:57:51Sure. Thank you.
00:57:52Can we do?
00:57:53I don't wanna be there.
00:57:55I don't wanna be there.
00:57:57Unison with the harmony at the end.
00:57:58So, sit first.
00:58:00I don't wanna be there.
00:58:02I don't wanna be there.
00:58:04And then together.
00:58:05I don't wanna be there.
00:58:09Oh, yes. That'd be tasty.
00:58:10Taking Love Takes Time and really trying to make it my own is kind of hard.
00:58:15It's a riot carry.
00:58:17You can't get any harder than that.
00:58:18But I wanna show John with this performance.
00:58:21I am very versatile.
00:58:23And I can go into a different genre, but still be myself.
00:58:27Now it's just all about getting it into your body and feeling it.
00:58:31Like, you practice it so much, it's second nature, you know?
00:58:33Y'all got some pipes, honey.
00:58:36I love it.
00:58:37I'm having a hard time thinking who you gonna pick.
00:58:41Ashley!
00:58:43I just wanna see who goes out there and shows the world that they need to be in the next
00:58:47round.
00:58:48This song is demanding.
00:58:51It requires a lot of natural ability and skill.
00:58:55And you just wanna see somebody that isn't afraid of this kind of challenge and goes out there and just
00:58:59nails it.
00:59:00Love takes time to heal when you hurt it so much.
00:59:07Couldn't see that I was blind.
00:59:12To let you go, I can't escape this pain inside.
00:59:20Cause love takes time.
00:59:23I don't wanna be here.
00:59:27I don't wanna be here.
00:59:30I don't wanna be here alone.
00:59:35You might say that it's over.
00:59:43And you might say that you don't care, that you don't care, baby.
00:59:50You might say, you might say, you don't miss me.
00:59:55You know you need me.
00:59:57But I know that you do and I feel that you do inside.
01:00:02that you do inside.
01:00:03You're gonna move on.
01:00:08You know you might say that it's over.
01:00:11I couldn't see that I was still blind.
01:00:17You're so blind to let you go.
01:00:20I can't escape this pain inside.
01:00:24Cause love takes time.
01:00:27Cause I don't wanna be there
01:00:32I don't wanna be there
01:00:36I don't wanna be there
01:00:42Alone
01:00:58I saw the song before I walked out and I was like, that is a tall order
01:01:02I love this song so much. I'm gonna start with you, Ashley
01:01:05I did feel like there were some pitchy parts here and there
01:01:08There were also some really beautiful moments, girl, your voice
01:01:10When it gets really big and you open up that roundness, it's beautiful
01:01:14It is a really beautiful, big ol' sound
01:01:18And Syd, I'm still angry for not even being able to possibly turn for you
01:01:23I like to think she would've chosen me anyway
01:01:25At least you have an excuse, I was in it and I still lost
01:01:29Thank you, coaches
01:01:31Alright, John, give us some thoughts on that battle before he tells who won
01:01:33Both of you are such wonderful singers
01:01:36And Ashley, you really do have an amazing voice
01:01:40When you have this powerful instrument
01:01:41Part of what you're doing is learning how to harness it
01:01:44And controlling this gift that you have
01:01:46It just takes time, as Mariah said
01:01:49It takes time
01:01:51And Syd, it is that interesting combination of going to the heights of what you're able to do
01:01:57With your voice, but not sounding shrill
01:02:00It's a remarkable, like, rare thing that you have
01:02:03Thank you so much
01:02:03Thank you so much
01:02:04John, who is the winner of this battle?
01:02:08The winner of this battle
01:02:12Is Syd
01:02:13Say Syd, congratulations
01:02:16You are moving on to the knockouts for Team Legend
01:02:19Ashley and Syd
01:02:20Both of these girls are really talented
01:02:22But Syd is just such a phenomenal performer
01:02:25She hit some of the highest notes you'll ever hear an artist sing
01:02:28And she does it effortlessly
01:02:30It's really remarkable
01:02:31She belongs in the finale of this show
01:02:33She's really special
01:02:44Welcome back to the battles at Universal Studios Hollywood
01:02:49All right, Abigail
01:02:50All right, thank you
01:02:51All right, thank you
01:02:52All right, have fun
01:02:52All right
01:02:53It's only about a minute and we'll go
01:02:55Yes, ma'am
01:02:56All right, here we go, everybody
01:02:58Last time I was in this room was the blind audition
01:03:01And I got a three-chair turn
01:03:03Thank you
01:03:04But there's still a lot that I want to show
01:03:06I want to work with Kelly
01:03:07And I hope to stay around for some more rounds
01:03:10And learn all that I can from her
01:03:13The voice is such a huge opportunity for me
01:03:16I'm from a really small town
01:03:17And getting on a stage that can be seen all across America
01:03:20Is something that I am so blessed to experience
01:03:22When I walk on stage, I'm going to be thinking about
01:03:26Doing my best, being myself, and making my family proud
01:03:29I am so excited for this
01:03:31Who will win this team's Kelly battle?
01:03:33Will it be Abigail Oakley or Julia Goldman?
01:03:44Abigail and Julia
01:03:46Hi, ladies
01:03:47Hello
01:03:48Abigail versus Julia
01:03:50The voices are similar in some ways, but still different
01:03:54Abigail is more folk
01:03:56Julia is more country
01:03:58They're singing Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac
01:04:01I think this is the perfect song because it kind of bridges them
01:04:04Can you tell me a little bit about yourselves?
01:04:06Who wants to start?
01:04:08I can go
01:04:09Abigail, you go first, because she said you're a little shy
01:04:11I'm a little shy
01:04:12She told me
01:04:13Yes, I'm a songwriter
01:04:14I live in Nashville
01:04:16I've done music all my life
01:04:18Tell me a little bit about you, Julia
01:04:19I'm 19
01:04:20I'm from North Carolina
01:04:22I sing country music, but I love everything
01:04:24Rock Americana
01:04:25Stevie Nicks is like my idol
01:04:26So I'm really excited to be singing this song
01:04:28Speaking of the song
01:04:29I want to hear you ladies sing it
01:04:31All your life
01:04:32You've never seen a woman
01:04:34Taking back
01:04:36You know what's interesting?
01:04:37Abigail naturally has a yodel in her voice
01:04:40Which normally comes from more of a country style of singing that Julia does
01:04:45She is like a cat in the dark
01:04:49Which maybe is why they work so well together
01:04:52Would you stay if she promised you
01:04:55Julia, her vibrato is special
01:04:57And then the energy that she exudes when she's singing
01:05:02It's infectious, it takes the room
01:05:04Two completely different personalities
01:05:09They're both captivating in their own way
01:05:14Yes, y'all
01:05:16Yes
01:05:17You are so interesting and captivating
01:05:20Aw, wow
01:05:21I tend to be one with a big personality, right?
01:05:24But it's the people who are so quiet are the most interesting
01:05:26As an artist, take us into that world
01:05:29I'm big on like owning who you are
01:05:32And the energy you bring
01:05:34I saw this bubbleness
01:05:35Like you were like
01:05:36You want to just twirl around
01:05:37Twirl around
01:05:37If that's what you feel
01:05:39This is your moment
01:05:40Make sure you're the focal point
01:05:42Allow yourself to be every bit of you
01:05:44Cause you're the stars
01:05:46It's y'alls for the taking
01:05:47Both of them have the star power
01:05:49So what this comes down to
01:05:51Is who shines the brightest on the day
01:05:54All your life
01:05:56All your life
01:05:56You've never seen
01:05:57A woman
01:05:58Taken by the wind
01:06:01Would you stay if she promised you heaven
01:06:05Will you ever win?
01:06:09Will you ever win?
01:06:19Rihanna
01:06:26Rihanna
01:06:28Rihanna
01:06:29Rihanna
01:06:40Rihanna
01:06:41Will you ever win?
01:07:01Rihanna
01:07:05Rihanna
01:07:22Rihanna
01:07:25Rihanna
01:07:30Rihanna
01:07:31Rihanna
01:07:38Rihanna
01:07:40All right
01:07:43Abigail there's this beautiful quality
01:07:44To your voice when you get up there and your
01:07:46Upper register beautiful transition to false oil
01:07:49I just want to hear more you know so I
01:07:50Would I would go with Abigail but Julia you did a great job
01:07:53Thank you so much
01:07:54Thank you
01:07:54Thank you
01:07:55Abigail I loved the verse a lot with you you had like
01:07:59A really nice round tone
01:08:01It just felt really solid and like comfortable
01:08:04And then I felt like that part of the song was weaker for you, Julia
01:08:08But then when you came in on the higher parts, it felt really good and the energy you were giving
01:08:12on stage felt right
01:08:13I'm gonna say Julia
01:08:18All right Kelly give us a few thoughts before you pick a winner there were moments that both of you
01:08:22the reason why you're here
01:08:23You both have something really magical with your tone. You both have something really magical about your voices that are
01:08:29very different
01:08:30I thought that you did a good job with the song
01:08:32I do like both of your blinds better
01:08:34I think that you're both artists that really benefit from space
01:08:38Like in a song of it not all the things kind of happening at once and fighting against it, especially
01:08:43Having to battle someone you've never sung with before, you know Kelly who is the winner of this battle?
01:08:55The winner of this battle
01:09:00Is Abigail
01:09:03Congratulations, you're on the knockouts for team Kelly
01:09:07Abigail and Julia are both very talented, but Abigail is a true storyteller
01:09:12That's the thing that wins me over about her. She has this intensity that is purposeful, but it's intimate
01:09:17And it shows this way of like being soft, but also very pointed
01:09:21I have six incredible artists coming into the knockouts. My team crushed it. So I'm pretty stoked about today
01:09:26We love you so much Kelly
01:09:28Oh, thank you
01:09:38Welcome back
01:09:40KJ and Mike our last pairing gentlemen, y'all. How lucky are we to have money long here?
01:09:49I'm so excited. She's gonna be giving you guys advice on your battle. We're having a good time today. All
01:09:54right. Absolutely. Yeah, last but not least
01:09:57KJ and Mike they're both R&B singers. It just felt naturally. They could sound great together
01:10:03What you guys been up to man? I've been at home with my babies
01:10:07Yeah, how many babies you got? Just two. Just two. How old are they? I'm gonna have a five-year
01:10:12-old daughter and my son is seven months
01:10:13My daughter was really stoked when I got a triple chair turn
01:10:26And that was validating that I can make it in this industry
01:10:30But you know it's been kind of hard trying to balance school and being on the show because it's non
01:10:35-stop
01:10:36But it's so worth it because it will mean more than the world to me to bring home that degree
01:10:41in that trophy for my baby girl and her little brother
01:10:48I love you
01:10:51When I'm at home and I'm in my downtime, we're doing the shows and we gigging and making it happen.
01:10:57I love it. I
01:10:59Try to sing every day all day a gig as much as I can. I'm real structured
01:11:04I'm really just adamant about taking this opportunity and put my best foot forward
01:11:11Making my parents proud is the thing that I live for they've sacrificed so much. My daddy was in the
01:11:18military
01:11:18It was a choice made to provide for a family. My dad's background taught me a strong work ethic
01:11:25I've been the kid, you know, who was super creative
01:11:30But didn't like school now that I've found something that I'm focused on. I'm really harnessing it to let it
01:11:36push me to work more
01:11:37Well, I'm so excited to hear y'all sing. Let me love you written by the great neo
01:11:42Performed by the great mario. This is one of the great classic r&b songs truly of this last 25
01:11:48years
01:11:49Both of y'all are really good r&b singers, but with really different tones
01:11:53I felt like this song would be a great song for both of you to sing. So I'm excited to
01:11:58hear you
01:12:03Mike has all this air around his voice his tone is so distinctive a lot of guys with that kind
01:12:09of tone don't have the range that Mike has
01:12:12So the combination of his tone and the range he has is really exceptional
01:12:16So can we make this thing go?
01:12:19And he also has power he was hitting the high notes nicely. Yeah, no, he can belt a little bit.
01:12:24This is good
01:12:28KJ has all of the runs the scales are crazy
01:12:34His ability to pick where to do it and how he could fit so many notes in one little tiny
01:12:40part
01:12:42And it doesn't sound cluttered that is very very skillful ability
01:12:56Yeah, this is gonna be really good both of y'all really sound good together and I like the back
01:13:02and forth and I like that
01:13:04You guys were more answering each other than trying to harmonize most of the time. That's my new favorite of
01:13:08the day
01:13:10Neither of you need to try to worry about being better than the other at what you do because your
01:13:15styles are so different from each other
01:13:17Like just be the best you be mindful of what you do on stage because part of how you convince
01:13:22the audience to fall in love with you
01:13:24It's just your demeanor your swag the way you physically carry yourselves. The tiebreaker will be
01:13:29Charisma stage presence all that good stuff. Don't they call that dirty mackin?
01:13:34That's what they call it dirty mackin. I'm happy. It's really good
01:13:38Yeah, so I'm gonna give you a little secret when you freestyle singing like the way that we do the
01:13:43rule is eight notes
01:13:44Hmm, right?
01:13:48Don't do more than that if you're gonna do a run
01:13:52Finish it at eight. Just count it
01:13:54You know, I'm saying okay
01:13:56I've never heard that. Yeah, I just gave you something now. I'm gonna go back and listen to my records
01:14:01and count start counting

01:18:29That was really good.
01:18:31Yeah.
01:18:31You are so screwed.
01:18:33Yeah, I know, I know.
01:18:34I mean, that was incredible.
01:18:36That was so, so good and tasteful.
01:18:39The whole time, I was like, tennis.
01:18:40I was like, oh, damn.
01:18:42And then I'd be like, oh, damn.
01:18:43Going back and forth.
01:18:44And especially, oh, my God, Mike,
01:18:46this one run you just did towards the end
01:18:48that went all the way down.
01:18:49It was like...
01:18:51It was so good.
01:18:52I loved it.
01:18:53I thought, KJ, you're a little more, like, higher.
01:18:56Even when you're doing the high stuff,
01:18:57there's just such a body to it.
01:18:59Honestly, guys, you're both incredible.
01:19:01I mean, great job.
01:19:03Yeah.
01:19:04I don't know which way I'd lead.
01:19:05Thank you so much, Kelly.
01:19:07I know.
01:19:08Thank you so much.
01:19:09Yes.
01:19:09I'm just mad at myself for pairing them now.
01:19:11First of all, the swag that's going on right now
01:19:14with these fits.
01:19:15The fellas look good.
01:19:16They look good.
01:19:17You guys were great.
01:19:18KJ, you were a big surprise to me.
01:19:20I didn't turn for you in the blinds.
01:19:22But you've, since then, made me a believer.
01:19:24But, Mike, when you create a moment that makes us all go,
01:19:27oh, my God, which was that big run down that you did,
01:19:29it was the most memorable, for me, moment of the entire thing.
01:19:32So I think maybe I would lean towards Mike.
01:19:34But it will be a very, very tough choice for you.
01:19:36Okay.
01:19:36I will lean towards KJ to even it out.
01:19:39Because I like both.
01:19:39Oh, my God.
01:19:40Thank you, coaches.
01:19:42Oh, my goodness.
01:19:43All right.
01:19:43Johnny got the final decision.
01:19:44Give us some thoughts on it first.
01:19:46This is hard.
01:19:47Because you guys both are just phenomenal singers.
01:19:51Your tones are so different from each other.
01:19:55Mike, your tone has so much air around it.
01:19:57And it's so, like, round and beautiful.
01:20:00And then I love that vibe of your tone, KJ.
01:20:03Like, it's really dope.
01:20:04Like, some of the best R&B and soul singers have that.
01:20:07And grew up on Stevie Wonder and tried to sound like him.
01:20:10And, like, that's the kind of tone you have.
01:20:12And I love it.
01:20:13Both of you are just phenomenally talented.
01:20:15And it was just a really great performance.
01:20:17And I'm really proud of both of you.
01:20:19And I'm excited for both of you.
01:20:22Johnny got a difficult decision, but the time has come.
01:20:25Who is the winner of this battle?
01:20:28The winner of this battle...
01:20:34...is KJ.
01:20:37KJ, congratulations.
01:20:38You're moving on to the knockout.
01:20:40KJ and Mike make me so proud.
01:20:42You know, I chose KJ as the winner.
01:20:43KJ's such a real singer.
01:20:45Like, he has so much range and flexibility in his voice.
01:20:48You killed it.
01:20:49Well done.
01:20:49I really do enjoy his tone.
01:20:51It reminds me of some of the singers I grew up listening to.
01:20:53I'm excited to see what KJ will do next.
01:20:56I wish I could see it!
01:20:57Good to remind you that Mike's available to steal.
01:20:59Mike, anything you want to say to John?
01:21:01Man, I'm Joe. I'm so grateful to be here.
01:21:04I thank you for turning your chair around for me.
01:21:06I can truly say, you know, it's a dream come true, for sure.
01:21:09Whoa!
01:21:10Hold everything!
01:21:11We got a steal!
01:21:14It's a steal for Mike Steele!
01:21:17Adam uses his one and only steal for Mike.
01:21:20Adam, talk to us.
01:21:21Man, I really did think he was going to pick you.
01:21:23And when he didn't, I was so shook.
01:21:25I was like, that means, like, I could have him on my team?
01:21:28Like, I was so surprised.
01:21:30There's a tone in your voice that I love.
01:21:33So, man, welcome to my team.
01:21:35Yeah!
01:21:36Go meet your new coach, Mike!
01:21:38Congratulations!
01:21:39Adam Levine steals Mike from John!
01:21:42I'm a Mike fan.
01:21:44I turned for Mike in the Blinds, and I thought Mike won that one,
01:21:46so it was really kind of easy to try and steal him.
01:21:48Mike adds definitely a facet that I do not have,
01:21:51which is a really strong male vocalist in the kind of R&B vein.
01:21:56And I'm just really happy he's on my team.
01:21:58Man, that was a good one!
01:22:00I was surprised.
01:22:01What do you want with Mike?
01:22:02What I want to learn from you, Adam.
01:22:03Everything.
01:22:03He wants to learn everything.
01:22:07Yo, we're gonna have fun, man.
01:22:08I missed you the first time, but I got you the second time.
01:22:10Most definitely.
01:22:11Yeah, man.
01:22:12Yes, sir. Let's go.
01:22:13All right, man.
01:22:14See you soon.
01:22:17Oh, man, that's crazy.
01:22:19That's crazy.
01:22:21That's it.
01:22:22Friends, that's the last battle.
01:22:24Did y'all enjoy yourselves?
01:22:25Good music.
01:22:28Oh!
01:22:30Yeah!
01:22:32Who needs score?
01:22:38Get ready for this, y'all.
01:22:40I'm super excited for knockouts.
01:22:41Let's go!
01:22:42I think the knockouts are gonna be so competitive.
01:22:45Oh, my God!
01:22:48Look, I'm excited to work with my whole team
01:22:49because I didn't get to work with them in the battles.
01:22:51Dude!
01:22:52I love my Mega Mentor.
01:22:54And we have some twists and turns coming our way.
01:22:58CeeLo Green!
01:23:02CeeLo's a wizard.
01:23:03A wizard?
01:23:04He's a wild man.
