Jaguar Land Rover says some Solihull lines making the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are being temporarily paused because of a supplier parts problem. The stoppage is expected to last for less than two weeks, including a planned Easter shutdown, and comes after a turbulent period for the carmaker.

00:03It's been a challenging period for Jaguar Land Rover, still dealing with the effects of a cyber attack which forced
00:09systems offline for weeks and disrupted production across its sites.
00:13Now the company is facing another setback. Production on some lines at its Solihull plant has been paused because of
00:19a shortage of parts from a supplier.
00:21The pause is expected to last for less than two weeks and includes a planned Easter shutdown, with production of
00:28the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport effected into early April.
00:32Staff are still expected on site.
00:35For the West Midlands, the impact matters because Solihull is central to JLR's operations and supports a wider supply chain
00:42across the region, sustaining thousands of jobs and businesses.
00:46The company had been on a stronger financial footing, reporting one of its best performances in recent years, driven by
00:53demand for higher margin models including Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender, with profits rising and order books remaining
01:01strong.
01:01But the past year has shown how quickly conditions can shift for global manufacturers.
01:07Alongside the cyber attack, JLR has faced pressure in key international markets and is navigating a major transition towards electrification.
01:16Its separate Jaguar relaunch has also drawn mixed reaction, with some criticism over design and branding, although the company says
01:24it reflects a long-term strategy.
