00:00Is there any direction in this upcoming summer window that you feel Arteta may look at and think that there
00:08needs to be a correction here,
00:10maybe on the left wing, maybe, or any kind of corrections that he might want to look at this summer?
00:17Even accepting that football is changing and that goals are at a premium, I still think Arsenal's attacking output has
00:24been insufficient.
00:25I think whether you believe Victor Jokeres has been effective in patches or you're less of a believer in his
00:32quality,
00:32I think it's fair to say that he probably isn't hitting the level that might have been hoped.
00:38So center forward has not been a strong suit for Arsenal for a while, to be fair.
00:43Kai Havertz's fitness certainly impacting that.
00:45I'm sure the plan would have been for Jokeres to be part of a platoon of center forwards as opposed
00:49to the only fit center forward.
00:51Left wing is an area that has disappointed a bit as well.
00:53Gabriel Martinelli has a nice goal tally in all competitions, but in the Premier League, he's not been great.
01:00Trossard is on the wrong side of 30 now, and I think his hot start has started to fade a
01:05bit.
01:05Where I think Mikel will have to navigate a tricky dynamic is, on the left wing, I think we're almost
01:11certainly,
01:11I would say we, Arsenal are almost certainly going to target, I think, high-end elite quality.
01:18Now, there have been names like Anthony Gordon thrown around, whether or not I think that's high-end elite quality.
01:22You know, I'm less excited about that prospect.
01:26I see that more analogous to Martinelli than a huge improvement over Martinelli, but different people have different opinions on
01:30that.
01:31There are names like Farrat Skelia or Rafa Liao.
01:35Very interesting, but how would they translate to the Premier League?
01:39And also, what would they cost?
01:41An immense amount, I would imagine.
01:42So, that's going to be a big area, I think, that'll be emphasized.
01:45Depending on what they believe the future fitness is of Kai Havertz, there may be a move for a striker
01:49again.
01:50But the really interesting dynamic, to me, is the outgoings.
01:53Because Mikel Arteta has two prodigal talents in, or prodigious talents, I should say, in Ethan and Max Dowman.
02:02Ethan Nguyenary and Max Dowman.
02:03Both of whom can play off the right, or on the interior, usually as a right eight.
02:09Each one, individually, would be seen as one of the generational young English talents in the game.
02:14And Arsenal have both of them.
02:16So, there may be some moves, maybe even unexpected outgoings from the midfield area,
02:21or players who might see themselves having a future in midfield,
02:24to just ensure that there's a pathway for those players to come back and have an impact next season.
02:28So, I could see some, for the first time, Arsenal really cashing in on some valuable players
02:35who are sold for real inflows, which has not been the case at the club for a while.
02:40And then maybe more limited activity incoming.
02:45Maybe just to bolster the left wing and striker position.
02:49Potentially one more younger body in midfield to replace Christian Norgard,
02:54who might just be sort of a one-season Jorginho-style leader in the dressing room type player.
