Sort Your Life Out Season 6 Episode 3 – When You Find Out You Have 468 Wax Melts

In this touching episode of Sort Your Life Out, Stacey Solomon and her expert team travel to the Midlands to help dads Craig and Craig transform their clutter-filled three-bedroom semi into a functional and organised family home.

Known as Big Craig and Little Craig, the couple adopted their five-year-old daughter and have filled their home with love – and lots of sentimental keepsakes. Big Craig finds it hard to let go of items connected to his daughter’s childhood, while Little Craig’s crafting passion has led to supplies being stored all over the house with little space left to create.

As part of the Sort Your Life Out challenge, Stacey encourages the family to let go of half their belongings in just seven days. Every item is packed up and transported to a vast warehouse display, revealing the true scale of their clutter. Among the 400 boxes, the team uncover 195 pairs of shoes, 208 gin bottles, 63 brushes and combs, 400 tampons collected for charity, and an incredible stash of wax melts.

Emotional moments unfold as Big Craig reflects on family memories and his inspiration to adopt again so their daughter can have a sibling. The decluttering journey becomes about more than tidying – it’s about creating space for their family’s future.

Back at home, carpenter Rob creates a clever elevated bed and play area with built-in storage, maximising space in their daughter’s room. The garden room is transformed into a creative hub for crafting, hair styling and relaxing – complete with a stylish gin bar. Iwan tackles a deep spring clean, while Dilly implements smart organisational systems to keep clutter under control long term.

With the clock ticking, will Stacey and the team deliver the organised, spacious home the Craigs need to grow their family?

00:00Sharon, do you like your eye massager?
00:02Are we ever going to use it?
00:03Brian uses it.
00:05Good, but under.
00:07We all hold on to stuff that we just don't need.
00:11It's one of her kids' belly button clamps.
00:13Stop it.
00:14So me and the gang are coming for your clutter.
00:17It's a room of doom.
00:20Oh, my word.
00:22We're emptying chock-a-block homes
00:25and laying out every single item.
00:28Oh, my God!
00:29Wow.
00:31I can't speak.
00:33Could you part with half?
00:35That doesn't seem fair.
00:36That's non-negotiable.
00:37This is such a great start.
00:39To transform your home.
00:41Goodbye, wall!
00:43And let the joy back in.
00:45I'm speechless.
00:47Wow!
00:48Oh, my!
00:50That is going to change our lives.
00:51It's the best feeling in the world.
00:54Mission accomplished.
01:01Right, you're on the map.
01:02Right.
01:03What way out of here?
01:05Right.
01:06Right out of here?
01:08No, I don't know yet.
01:09What?
01:10Did you say right?
01:10You said right.
01:12Well, no, I meant as in right.
01:13Let's go.
01:14We're on the move again.
01:15And today, we're off to meet a family from the Midlands.
01:18Ice by my little ice at the beginning with P.
01:22Petrol.
01:23How can you see petrol?
01:24Can we just enjoy this moment of tranquillity?
01:27The silence before the...
01:3021 seconds.
01:3221 seconds.
01:34Look at that motor.
01:38There they are.
01:39It's all right for sun.
01:40Hey, guys.
01:42I'm so excited.
01:44This is the Craig's house.
01:46They live here with their daughter, Elle.
01:48It's Craig and Craig, by the way.
01:50When I say the Craigs, I put Craig and Craig.
01:52There's Big Craig, Little Craig, or Daddy Big and Daddy Little
01:56to their daughter, Elle.
01:57I love it.
01:58How cute.
01:59They moved from a rented property, which was much bigger than this.
02:01That's a downside.
02:02And then they've become parents.
02:04So having less room is not working out at the moment.
02:09Get me in there.
02:10Yeah.
02:11The Craig's house has two bedrooms, a box room, a living room and kitchen, and a garden
02:20room.
02:21Woo!
02:22Okay.
02:23Oh, my God, guys.
02:24This is a problem.
02:26But if we just all stand in a line and look this way...
02:29There is no problem.
02:30This looks good.
02:30For four kids.
02:32After kids.
02:34There's, like, full outfits in this bag.
02:36There's tags on these still.
02:38There's literally all loads of brand new stuff under here.
02:41But it's been here for ages.
02:41Look at the dust.
02:43Ooh.
02:43Found a glue gun.
02:44Brand new inbox.
02:46Dilly, you are gonna love this.
02:48I think they're crafters.
02:50They are.
02:50Ha, ha, ha, ha.
02:52These are my people.
02:54A drawer dedicated to wax melts.
02:57This is why the house smells so good.
02:59Oh, they're organised.
03:00Yeah, look.
03:01There's a labeler in there.
03:03And there's snippets of organisation everywhere.
03:05I feel like I'm looking into a glimpse of what life was like before they became parents.
03:09Yeah.
03:10But I actually think this is the most impractical storage I've ever seen.
03:13There's a nice chest of drawers, a secret little cupboard, but none of it is accessible.
03:18Right, we need to keep moving.
03:19OK.
03:19We've barely stepped through the front door.
03:21Take care.
03:22Good luck.
03:23While Ewan and Rob head next door.
03:25All right.
03:25Oh, baby gate.
03:26Dilly and I have spotted a garden oasis.
03:29I love this type of space.
03:31They're not quite how this looks.
03:33This gin.
03:35At one point, this was a cool place to hang out.
03:37Look at this cupboard.
03:39No!
03:41Stacey!
03:42I don't know why you're blaming me.
03:44Oh, he's broken the shelf.
03:45I haven't broken.
03:46The shelf must have been broken.
03:47No, this is what happens when you overload the shelves.
03:50There's actually a sofa under here.
03:51That looks like a car boot to me.
03:53That is a car boot.
03:54And some more clothes.
03:55What else is in here?
03:56Professional hair stuff.
03:58One, two, three.
04:00I have the exact same straightener.
04:02Someone must be a hairdresser, surely.
04:04What is this chandelier?
04:05That looks like something out of Phantom of the Opera.
04:08Oh, my God.
04:09Careful, please, because there's a mirror behind that.
04:11And the sleepy came to me.
04:13Don't spoil my favourite ever musical.
04:18The Phantom of the Opera is there.
04:21I feel like they would have had such a lovely time in here at one stage in their lives.
04:25It's just a good space, whether it be for hairdressing, whether it's a bar.
04:28It's just a cupboard now.
04:30A giant cupboard.
04:31Of doom.
04:32What have you found around there?
04:33Unopened packages.
04:34I love packages.
04:35It's a subscription.
04:37Oh, is it gin?
04:38Yeah.
04:38Oh, this is gin.
04:40Those subscriptions, they're dangerous.
04:42Yeah.
04:43Got an office here.
04:44And this must have to get used for dining.
04:45Look.
04:46Let's try and figure out how would they do this.
04:48I don't know.
04:49So we're going to have dinner.
04:50You're sticking the screen on the ground.
04:51And then you've got, like, paperwork and files and things.
04:54Yeah.
04:54They're not eating at this, are they?
04:55And it's not practical.
04:56Or if they are, it's a mission.
04:58We've found signs the Craigs may be winning the clutter battle in the hallway.
05:03Shoe store.
05:03That's good.
05:04Yeah, this is good.
05:05This feels organised.
05:06Dog leads, shoes.
05:07Yeah.
05:08But there's overspiel.
05:10We might as well take it up with us.
05:12Hair products.
05:13The shoe cover's literally right behind us.
05:15Why are they on the stairs?
05:16Actually, is that a shoe cupboard as well in front of us?
05:18I'm coming for you, Craig and Craig.
05:21First up, the master bedroom.
05:23Can't even open the door.
05:24Oh my gosh.
05:26In my opinion, this is all that's necessary.
05:28The two matching rows, surely.
05:30Dressing gown number three.
05:32Number three.
05:32How many dressing gowns can we fit on stasis?
05:35Five.
05:35Five?
05:36I feel like a horse.
05:38Is it getting heavy?
05:39Yes, Dilly.
05:40OK, so they've got ten dressing gowns.
05:43Ten dressing gowns.
05:43For two people.
05:45Like, oh!
05:46You're such an idiot, Dilly.
05:50Also, there's not even a wardrobe in here.
05:52That's why they bought a chair.
05:55Where should we store our clothes?
05:56Let's buy a chair.
05:58More bags of brand new clothes.
06:00There's clothes in the living room, on the chair drove.
06:02Clothes up the hallway.
06:03Oh, look, they're dad cards.
06:05I keep my mother's day cards.
06:06To daddy little.
06:08Aww.
06:09Look at the little drawing.
06:10Oh, love.
06:11I would keep that.
06:12Yeah.
06:12This is like a memory box of toys, isn't it?
06:14But look how much space this is taking up.
06:16And they're definitely not age appropriate.
06:18She's five now.
06:20Look, there's even bedding in here.
06:21Baby bedding.
06:23Why are they keeping it, Dilly?
06:25They're not letting go.
06:26And they're bringing in a new.
06:27Yeah.
06:28Aww.
06:28The thing is with this room.
06:31So much fun.
06:33Next door, Ewan and Rob have discovered a collection of another kind in five-year-old Elle's bedroom.
06:39This is like a tube of toys that are all the same vibe.
06:43They've all got the big eyes.
06:44Wow, that's a lot.
06:45This is a serious collection of soft toys.
06:47Yeah, you know what happens with collections.
06:49It's like, where do you stop?
06:50That's it, they just grow.
06:51And also, they're blocking this wardrobe.
06:53Very common theme in this place.
06:55There's no actual floor space for Elle to play.
06:58Okay, this is a book about Craig.
07:00I often get to see your face light up when you talk about the things you love.
07:04Oh, daddy, you do love RuPaul's Drag Race so much.
07:09This is why there's no wardrobe in the bedroom.
07:11Because it's in here.
07:14Next up, me and Dilly brave the box room.
07:17I actually cannot believe they've got more clothes.
07:20What's up there?
07:22A brand new blender.
07:25What is the point in having a walk-in wardrobe if you can't get into the cupboards?
07:29Exactly, this is not...
07:30This is a wasted room in my opinion.
07:34Oh, I don't know if that was a good choice.
07:36I think it might have gone out of date.
07:37Oh.
07:38Too late now.
07:40That smells not so bad now it's wafted for a while.
07:43That's how I feel about you.
07:46Oh, gosh.
07:47This house is full.
07:49We've got things like toys, clothes, subscriptions unopened.
07:53I feel that there has never been a declutter in there.
07:56Yeah.
07:56There's something in front of every piece of storage, so how can you access it?
08:00God, I don't think they're going to be excited to meet me.
08:02No!
08:03Hello!
08:04Hello!
08:05Hi!
08:06How are you doing?
08:07Hi, El.
08:08Right, come on.
08:08How are you doing, guys?
08:09Good to see you.
08:10Hello, can I give you a big hug?
08:12Hello.
08:13Hello.
08:13How are you both feeling?
08:15I feel quite nervous.
08:17What are you most nervous about?
08:19Throwing stuff away.
08:20I can see that not much of that has happened.
08:22No.
08:23No.
08:24No.
08:25You've got something on your eyebrow.
08:27Is it white?
08:28Yeah.
08:28Is it?
08:29Can I just check?
08:30I think it's draw shampoo.
08:32On your eyebrow?
08:33It's that new K18 one.
08:35Oh.
08:36Sorry, guys.
08:38Craig and Craig have been a couple for 15 years.
08:41I'm big Craig.
08:43Then I'm little Craig.
08:44People do get us mixed up.
08:46Obviously, I'm a lot shorter than Craig.
08:48I'm also more funnier as well.
08:49I'm more handsome.
08:51Come to me.
08:52And the pair have known each other since they were teenagers.
08:55Pretend you love me.
08:56So, my favourite things about big Craig are that he's very thoughtful.
08:59He's very caring.
09:00The thing that I like the most is, even though you can be quite serious,
09:05you are really funny.
09:09My personality can be very much up here.
09:11Mm-hm.
09:11Yours can be very level.
09:13You draw me down when I need it, but I pick you up when you need it.
09:18Since getting together, the pair have moved house five times where they've downsized, but not decluttered.
09:25Craig?
09:26Have you seen my white train?
09:28Doesn't matter.
09:30Who's got the most stuff?
09:31No.
09:32Rory.
09:33I don't think I've got the most stuff.
09:34I think I've got clusters of things that I've got more of.
09:39I do take up a lot of room with my shoes.
09:42Actually, you've got an extensive underwear collection.
09:45I actually don't know.
09:46Yes, you have.
09:47He's even got sections in his drawer.
09:50That's organised.
09:53Wee!
09:54Ow!
09:56The capacity of their three bed was further tested when the couple adopted their now five-year-old
10:01daughter, Elle.
10:02I always wanted to be a parent from a young age.
10:05You will always belong right next to me, and I'll belong next to you.
10:11Like you and Daddy was me.
10:13Always.
10:13When Elle went into care, she didn't have a lot of stuff.
10:19Elle not having come with much, I think you will agree.
10:22We overcompensate.
10:24Yeah.
10:24And the Warder family overcompensate as well.
10:27Where are your others?
10:28In Daddy Little's car.
10:30Two secs, Elle.
10:32She's got that many toys that we do have to keep some in the car as well.
10:35I think I'm very sentimental.
10:37I do tend to hold on to pretty much everything, but I do feel like I have a reason.
10:42A lot of the stuff I hold on to now is so it builds a memory for Elle into her
10:49future.
10:50Little Craig is sentimental as well, but maybe I'm times ten.
10:55I have hundreds and hundreds of toys, and Daddy has hundreds and hundreds of shoes.
11:03Craig and Craig have five jobs between them, so a stretch for time as well as space.
11:09We want to make sure that she gets everything she deserves.
11:13If we have to work sort of every hour that God sends to be able to do that, we will.
11:19I work from home.
11:20I set up shop on the dining table.
11:22I've known to finish work, take it all down, have dinner, then put it all back out again.
11:27When I'm working from home, I will spend my breaks running the vacuum round or putting the wash on.
11:32The organised person in me does struggle with all this clutter.
11:37Our house is full of our life, but I think because it's so full of stuff, it doesn't necessarily feel
11:42like a home.
11:45Who's the oldest?
11:48Me.
11:49How old are you?
11:5044.
11:51How old are you all?
11:53I'm 35.
11:55I'm 39.
11:56Ewan's staying quiet.
11:57I don't think Ewan's ever told us how old he is.
11:59Yes, Ewan, how old?
12:00What do you reckon, 28?
12:02That sounds like a really nervous laugh.
12:04How old do we think?
12:0658.
12:06Oh, I think you're pretty close.
12:10We're really excited to be here.
12:12This is such a beautiful house, but I believe that we might need to look at letting go of about
12:1770% of what's inside the house.
12:20I hate to be the bearer of bad news.
12:22Look how happy he is.
12:23Closer to 70.
12:25Does that make you happy?
12:26Absolutely.
12:26Should we get started?
12:27Because there is a lot to pack up in a very short time.
12:30OK.
12:31We're hoping.
12:32It's going to be fine, Quakes.
12:33You're going to be fine.
12:35Oh, El's ready.
12:36Come on, let's go.
12:37We've just 12 hours to get this house completely empty.
12:40We need to pack with purpose.
12:42We don't just want to shove things in boxes.
12:44I'm starting with Big Craig in the living room.
12:47There's so many unopened toys here, Craig.
12:49I didn't even know she had that.
12:52What was your house like growing up?
12:54There was a lot of us at home.
12:56How many were you?
12:57There was always five, but I am one of more.
13:00So you had a busy household?
13:02Yeah.
13:03What are all your jobs?
13:04Predominantly, I'm a hairdresser and I own a hair salon.
13:07You own a hair salon?
13:09Yeah.
13:09Oh, can I come to it?
13:11Any time.
13:12I teach as well.
13:13Do you still, like, do hair in the salon?
13:15Yeah.
13:16Yeah.
13:16Literally, I'm fully booked from the moment I walk into the shop
13:19to the moment I go home, which tends to be around an hour
13:23to three hours after I'm meant to finish.
13:26Why did you decide to adopt El?
13:28I think coming from a big family made it more important for me
13:32to have a family.
13:33So I just thought, I want a kid of my own, or five.
13:36Would you have more?
13:37I'd have loads more.
13:39Oh, big family's a muffin, Craig, I get you.
13:42Could you adopt again in, like, this position,
13:45with all this stuff here?
13:46No.
13:47Oh, there's a bud in the house!
13:48Set it free outside, go on.
13:50I dare, I dare, I dare.
13:51No more climbing in the house.
13:54Bug rescued.
13:54Yeah.
13:55How do you think she's settled in?
13:56She's settled in really well.
13:58Every day's a learning curve and every day's a new experience.
14:00I'm adopted, so I get that whole process.
14:02Oh, OK.
14:02Wouldn't change it for the world.
14:04I love that.
14:05Bye-bye, my little friend.
14:08How did you end up with this much stuff?
14:10If I can keep one little ounce of something
14:13that she feels safe with, I will.
14:14Yeah.
14:15We can't fill in every gap for her from before.
14:18I think if she's got this and she can look at it...
14:21Do you think she's going to want to look at
14:23the chicken-egg basket?
14:25So, this probably isn't the best example.
14:29But, I mean, I can't really look around...
14:31Craig, you're not selling it to me!
14:33So, we're going to blame Craig for the clothes, the shoes, the gin.
14:36What are you responsible for in this house?
14:38I am responsible for craft stuff.
14:40I did notice a very big craft cupboard.
14:42I would love somewhere to store it all
14:44and then I can start doing more craft with Val.
14:48I love it when Val comes to me and says,
14:49Can we do some crafts?
14:50I'm like, absolutely.
14:52Give me five minutes, I'll get the feathers.
14:55You're upside down!
14:57Elle, to me, is along with Big Cray, the most important thing.
15:01They're the reason I get up.
15:03They've helped shape me and build me.
15:05But then I don't want her to grow up thinking
15:06that the clutter is the norm.
15:08And has Elle had play dates to the house?
15:11No, she hasn't.
15:12I don't want people to see the house as it is.
15:15There's nothing.
15:15I don't want more for her to sort of have that space.
15:19What do you think?
15:20You look like Princess Taffrey.
15:22Like Princess Kate?
15:23William's wife?
15:25Yeah.
15:28It should have been me.
15:29I know.
15:31What's your favourite thing in your bedroom?
15:34Do you want me to wind it up?
15:36Yes, please.
15:37Do you listen to that a lot?
15:39Mm-hmm.
15:39It's a good sound.
15:43I don't really want this.
15:45Oh, that's good.
15:46I'm glad we're making decisions.
15:47Is that Mr Teddy?
15:48Mr Teddy.
15:49What do we want to do with him?
15:50Keep him or...?
15:51Keep him because he has glasses like my dad.
15:56Oh, I love that.
15:58We definitely don't have to let go of him.
16:00Craig, these wardrobes are rand.
16:03They are.
16:04What percentage of this closet is Craig's?
16:08Probably 75%.
16:09Oh, OK, wow.
16:10Yeah.
16:10How could this room improve for you guys?
16:13Obviously, Al's desperate to be a sister.
16:16Oh, yeah.
16:16That's always been the plan for this room.
16:18But I guess while the house is in its current condition, it can't be.
16:22No, no.
16:23Well, that's a really good incentive for us.
16:25Absolutely, no.
16:27A couple of hours in and we're still finding more multiples.
16:30I think it's important when you're a family of three to have one, two, three, four windbreakers.
16:39I would only expect this level of windbreaker at the Von Trapps.
16:44Thousands upon thousands of boxer shorts.
16:49We've done boxer shorts.
16:50This is pants.
16:51Oh, this is my old whistle.
16:55Two vans packed, free to go.
16:58Genuinely forgot what was under here.
17:00It's the story of your life, kiddo.
17:02You can see Craig and Craig really love each other.
17:04You can see they are devoted parents and they've just got to a point where they don't know how to
17:10address the clutter.
17:11Do you think the whole of that can fit in a box?
17:14How do you get that strong?
17:17I'm getting so good at packing.
17:18I've done well more than 10,000 hours.
17:20I must be an elite master packer at this point.
17:30We've only got an hour to go.
17:32Heaviest box ever.
17:33And these final boxes need to get out the house pronto.
17:37We're so close to the end now.
17:38Look how big you roomies without all your stuffing.
17:41Are you floating?
17:43Good God.
17:44It's okay.
17:45It's going to be fine.
17:46It's good.
17:47Ready?
17:48Go, go, go.
17:51We've packed.
17:52I can't even remember what we've packed.
17:55There's been so much stuff.
17:56I feel like I don't know what's on that van, but it's done.
17:58I'm relieved.
18:00Bring on the warehouse.
18:07Loads over there.
18:08Yeah.
18:11I am nervous about coming in.
18:12I think it's going to be really uplifting or a bit embarrassing.
18:17Oh, who's that?
18:18Look.
18:19She's wearing a dead outfit.
18:21Yeah.
18:22She is, isn't she?
18:23She looks lovely.
18:24Hey.
18:26Come here.
18:28Are you excited to see everything in the warehouse?
18:31Yeah.
18:32Shall we go inside?
18:33Yeah.
18:33Yeah.
18:34Come on.
18:35Oh, I can feel your heart rate.
18:39She's definitely more excited than we are.
18:42This is it.
18:43I feel sick.
18:44Oh, my God.
18:53Welcome to your house.
18:57I can't speak.
18:59Out of the 400 boxes unpacked from the Craig's home, we discovered 195 pairs of shoes, 63 brushes and combs,
19:10and 468 wax melts and candles.
19:14Where did all this go?
19:16What even is?
19:17Flabbergasted.
19:18Whee!
19:19Shall we walk through?
19:21Yeah.
19:21Cool.
19:23Do you want to hazard a guess of how many bottles of gin you've got?
19:25I think I've only got about 50.
19:27Okay.
19:29What do you reckon, Craig?
19:30About 150.
19:31I think you were being overzealous.
19:33208.
19:34Me being overzealous.
19:36I also found 400 women's sanitary items.
19:40I was collecting them.
19:41Were enough for the homeless?
19:42I didn't even know we had tampons in the house.
19:44I hid them because I thought, well, this will be an awkward conversation.
19:47I just can't believe you've found how many?
19:51400.
19:51Tampons in a gay man's house.
19:55Shall we start in seasonal decor?
19:57Christmases, Easter's.
19:59There'll be some easy stuff to let go of.
20:03Maybe.
20:03Why are you nervous already?
20:05Why are you nervous over Easter?
20:08Where are those three trees going?
20:10That's the old tree.
20:11When we bought them, we thought the new tree was smaller than...
20:14The old one.
20:15But they're both the same size?
20:16Yeah.
20:17Would you be open to one tree?
20:20Yeah, get rid of that one.
20:21No, I mean...
20:22Keeping one tree.
20:23Keeping one tree.
20:25Hey, Elle.
20:26What?
20:26What's your favourite tree?
20:28The one with this down the top.
20:30The little one?
20:31The little one.
20:32Would you be happy to say goodbye to the other two?
20:34Yeah.
20:35Really?
20:35Yeah.
20:36I'm actually shocked.
20:37I'm proud of you.
20:39Elle, do you still want to keep this?
20:41It's a bit too small.
20:43A lot of work went into that.
20:45Shall I give this to, like, the Easter bunny?
20:47Yeah.
20:47Yeah.
20:50Well done, Elle.
20:51Keep going, okay?
20:53I'm finding this really therapeutic.
20:54I'm glad somebody is.
20:56Why do you think you've held on to so many seasonal decorations?
21:00We used to have a lot of parties.
21:01Maybe not so much anymore.
21:02Why?
21:03It's just people stood in clutter.
21:06There's no point having all these decorations if no one sees them, is there?
21:10Fair.
21:10That's true.
21:11We need to crack on so that Craig's house can become a home again.
21:16That can go.
21:18That can go.
21:19That can go.
21:19Shall I let go of this?
21:21Yeah.
21:21Well done, Craig.
21:25Okay.
21:26Yeah?
21:28That is almost half of the donate pile full.
21:31All that space is back in your house.
21:34You're doing really, really well.
21:36But this was just Christmas.
21:41Oh, I love this.
21:43Bit of power in my hands.
21:46Oh, my gosh.
21:48Back at the house, the team have a plan to restore the walk-in wardrobe box room
21:52to a bona fide bedroom.
21:54What is happening with this room?
21:56Well, little Craig said to me they're really hoping to adopt again in the future.
22:00I love that.
22:00Do you think we can get any of these wardrobes into their bedroom?
22:03Yeah.
22:04All of this can be dismantled, reassembled and altered.
22:06Okay.
22:07Ewan?
22:07Yeah, what?
22:08Lovely.
22:09Why are you giving me that?
22:10I tried to put one of these up recently and it took me a day.
22:13All right, then.
22:14We ain't got that much time.
22:15You go and do that bit and I'll take apart the wardrobes.
22:19It's after lunch at the warehouse.
22:21Can I have a trim?
22:22Yeah.
22:23And the clutter isn't the only thing getting the chop.
22:26Please don't tell Dilly.
22:28This has been my favourite warehouse day of all time.
22:30What?
22:30Because you've had hair cut?
22:31Yeah.
22:32I'm freshly trimmed and now it's time to tackle the toys.
22:36Over on my old robot!
22:38Elle, do you want to keep this?
22:40Oh, I do.
22:44How sweet.
22:45She loves this so much.
22:47She sits on the toilet listening to it.
22:49Must be so comforting though.
22:50I mean, not so much when she does it in the middle of the night.
22:54You hear that horror film.
22:57It must make her brain feel really good.
22:59Yeah, I think the song evokes memories for her.
23:02Right, we can't lose this.
23:05We've taken loads of advice from adoption charities
23:08and sometimes children who have been through that experience
23:12can and want to hold on to absolutely everything.
23:14So if Elle doesn't want to let go, if that makes her feel comfortable,
23:16then it's all going to stay.
23:18I think as long as she knows it's going to charity.
23:21Then she'll be okay.
23:22Elle, is there anything you see here
23:24that you definitely don't play with
23:26that we can either give to someone else
23:27or we can make some money and sell it?
23:29Do you still play with Spider-Man?
23:31No, it's a bit boyish.
23:34Bye-bye Spider-Man.
23:36Yes, Elle!
23:37Let's keep going.
23:39Iggle Pickle?
23:41Do we still play with him?
23:42No.
23:43Can we get rid of all the Teletubbies?
23:45Mm-hmm.
23:45This is a good start.
23:49I've never played with this before.
23:50Did you know you had these?
23:52What is this?
23:54That is a bath bomb maker.
23:56Ooh!
23:57I want to make bath bombs.
24:00So I've left the Craigsmith toys
24:01and Elle started noticing things that she didn't recognise.
24:05She didn't know if she was allowed to play with it,
24:07if it was hers, where it had come from.
24:09Look, it's actually moving.
24:11If she doesn't know they exist,
24:13it would be very difficult to let go of something brand new.
24:15Is it shocking to you that there's 59 brand new toy presents?
24:19Did I think we had this many? No.
24:21If people are buying her these things
24:23and you don't even have the space to use it,
24:26it's not a present for Elle anymore.
24:28Oh!
24:29Both our families just couldn't love her anymore,
24:32and I think that's half the problem.
24:33We definitely need boundaries.
24:34You should send them a picture of this
24:36and just say,
24:37this is what happens.
24:39We can't manage the amount that Elle is getting.
24:42Why did I get this unitorn?
24:44We probably are overcompensating to a point.
24:47I could probably pick up in my arms what she came with.
24:52Does that make you sad?
24:53Yeah, really sad.
24:54Like...
24:54And I think that's why I hold on to her stuff,
24:57because it's her memories.
24:59It's her history.
25:02When Elle went into care,
25:04she had clothing that she'd got on
25:07and then just a handful of a couple of things.
25:10But it is stuff that we've kept for her as she grows,
25:16so she has got that sort of tether to where she came from.
25:22Because of the past life experience that she had,
25:26we want to make sure that she gets everything she deserves now,
25:30and I don't want her to ever feel that when she gets older...
25:35Sorry.
25:36..that she missed out on anything.
25:40I just want to make sure she knows that she's got stuff.
25:43But you do know that you're now building
25:46all these new incredible moments in her life.
25:49That's the reason we're doing this.
25:50Yeah.
25:51Yeah.
25:51She doesn't need the stuff.
25:52She just needs your love.
25:54Yeah.
25:54Which she's got in blooming abundance.
25:57Abundance.
25:57Abundance.
25:58So, on that note,
26:00how many of these giant things can I take to the pile?
26:03That can go, that can go.
26:04All those balls can go.
26:06Yeah, I'll go and point what we can go.
26:07Amazing.
26:08I'll start taking some big stuff down.
26:10That can go.
26:12The railway set can go.
26:13I think that Craig and Craig are coming to realise
26:15that the love they have for Elle
26:17isn't measured in the amount of stuff she has.
26:20It's measured in the incredible child that she is.
26:23And I think that perhaps they thought
26:25stuff would make her happy,
26:26but it's actually them that make her happy.
26:29This is amazing.
26:32How does that feel?
26:33Feels good.
26:34She's then going to have the space
26:35and know what she's got.
26:40Over at the Craigs,
26:42Rob is constructing a shared desk area
26:44for the garden room.
26:45I'm working on Craigs and Craig's
26:47multifunctional workstation.
26:49This section here is where Craig does here.
26:53This section is going to be for little Craig.
26:56Craig and Elle love arts and crafts.
26:58Both of them will be able to sit here
27:00and work together.
27:01We're going for the industrial look
27:02to match Craig's gin shelving.
27:05Oh, come on!
27:06These old crates tie it all in.
27:10There you have it.
27:12Our workstation is complete.
27:15I genuinely don't know how to get this done.
27:18I don't think we are.
27:20Five hours in,
27:21and I'm banking on rattling through
27:22Big Craig's gin collection.
27:25What needs to come home
27:26is the amount of alcohol
27:27that can fill your shelves
27:29in your summer house.
27:30So if you split that directly down the middle.
27:33Not even in the cupboard?
27:33No.
27:34No.
27:35And not even on my shelf in the lounge?
27:37No.
27:37They have got to go in the shelf
27:39in the summer house.
27:40Okay.
27:41Keep this one.
27:43I mean, that can go because it's foul.
27:45Why do you keep it if you hate it?
27:48It's pretty.
27:49I think I do like collecting things.
27:52I don't think it's just that,
27:53oh, that's pretty.
27:54I'll keep that.
27:55Right.
27:55I do think it's deeper rooted.
27:57Where do you think it comes from?
27:58Like how I grew up,
28:00and I was the only product of my mum
28:02and my birth dad.
28:04And honestly, I think I didn't know
28:06where I belonged.
28:08My granddad was like my best mate growing up.
28:10When I was little,
28:11I used to collect like calligraphy magazines
28:13and crocheting magazines.
28:17Yeah.
28:17Was it him who got you into collecting?
28:20Yeah, he used to buy me magazines every week.
28:22Knowing my biological dad wasn't there,
28:25through my like childhood years,
28:28used to make me feel like something was missing.
28:30But granddad was a really strong figure
28:32in my life growing up.
28:34I started collecting things as a child
28:35because granddad used to get me weekly subscriptions.
28:38And then I think moving through to adulthood,
28:41that's probably why I started collecting things.
28:44So do you feel like you almost do it in honour of him now?
28:47I suppose maybe, yeah.
28:50Do you miss him?
28:51Oh, like you wouldn't believe.
28:53When he passed away,
28:55all I wanted was his pipes
28:56because he was a proper granddad.
28:58Flat cap, pipe and a rack.
29:01I did get them, but I couldn't tell you.
29:05I'd put them, you know when you put some things somewhere safe?
29:07Were they in the house?
29:07Yeah.
29:08Put them somewhere safe
29:09and then I can never remember where the safe space is.
29:12We've seen pipes since we got everything out.
29:18We might find them.
29:22I feel like this is the biggest loss from having too much stuff,
29:26is when you get something that really does mean a lot
29:30and you never find it again.
29:31I feel like that's the biggest heartbreak from this kind of situation.
29:36If they are gone, do you have anything else?
29:39Yeah.
29:39So I've got like...
29:40Granddad thought he was like a tech whiz.
29:44And he used to send me little voice notes that I've archived.
29:48Did he?
29:48Yeah, they are really...
29:49I thought your granddad was a techno whiz.
29:51Yeah.
29:51And these are from like 2015.
29:53There's one where he sings a little roaring.
29:56Oh, grandson of mine.
29:57I hope you're feeling fine.
29:58This is your grandfather on the line.
30:01Oh, my oldest grandson of mine.
30:03Love you.
30:04Bye.
30:05Oh, what a good granddad.
30:09You okay?
30:09I am sad that we couldn't put them the pipes.
30:11I'm so sorry.
30:12I'm so sorry.
30:20He'll be looking down thinking,
30:22what have you kept me pipes?
30:23They stink.
30:25And they did stink.
30:28There's half an hour till the warehouse closes
30:30and we need to shift more clobber.
30:33Get as much as we can on the pile so that Dilly doesn't kill me.
30:35Is she a bit bossy?
30:37A little bit bossy.
30:38Do we need 468 wax melts and candles?
30:41Not that many.
30:42What about the 400 tampons?
30:44I don't think we're going to use them.
30:46Donate.
30:47What is this chandelier?
30:48If I could only throw away one thing, it would be that.
30:51So you want this to stay?
30:52Yes.
30:54I'm joking.
30:55I've just said it can go.
30:56Yes.
30:57The chandelier is out of here.
30:58Yes.
30:58Woo!
30:59I've had an idea.
31:01I want to make Daddy and Daddy a special present from you.
31:05So cute.
31:07Dilly will be so mad.
31:09She will be so mad.
31:10Final minute, everyone.
31:12Let's go, go, go.
31:13It's the most morning I've ever done.
31:15They're locking the doors at 7 o'clock so we have to get out.
31:22Woo!
31:24I'm so warm.
31:25Day one.
31:28I've had a fresh trim.
31:29Smashed it.
31:31Smashed it.
31:31If Dilly moans tomorrow, I'm going to be...
31:33Well, I won't tell her that you had your hair cut.
31:35No, please.
31:36I'm so proud of what Craig and Craig have achieved.
31:39I think Elle really got into the swing of it.
31:41I think Dilly's going to come in tomorrow and be pleasantly surprised.
31:50I thought we did pretty well yesterday, but with one warehouse day left.
31:55Wowzers.
31:55I think I might have stitched Dilly up.
31:58Oh, my gosh.
32:00Who has that many clothes?
32:01We're going to have to go hard.
32:03Little Craig, you start going through Elle's stuff.
32:06Big Craig, I'm going to take you and we are going to go through your clothes.
32:08OK.
32:10You had 208 t-shirts, 71 of which were black.
32:16You do not need 71.
32:18I feel more comfortable in black.
32:20Let's say we have a t-shirt for every day of the week.
32:23Then we double that, so you have 14 t-shirts.
32:26You want me to only have 14 t-shirts?
32:28One for every day of the week, because I'm being generous.
32:31I'm going to give you triple that, so that's 21.
32:34You need to lose 90% of these t-shirts.
32:3621 t-shirts.
32:3821 seconds.
32:40I got 21 t-shirts to go.
32:42I got 21 t-shirts to go.
32:44Did you see me in this t-shirt?
32:45Oh, no.
32:46Oh, my gosh.
32:47You are getting on very well.
32:49What age is she in now?
32:50Five to six.
32:51Five to six.
32:52So anything under five to six can go?
32:54Yeah.
32:55You buy something, something has to leave.
32:57I'm undecided.
32:59Why are you undecided?
33:00I don't know if it still fits.
33:01Well, let's try it on if it does.
33:03Let's see.
33:03I don't know.
33:04Being in just a t-shirt, it makes me feel vulnerable.
33:07Does it? Why?
33:08There's a lot more of me to love.
33:10Oh, that's a good thing, right?
33:11Not when you're out in public.
33:13Yeah, this can go.
33:14It's not about how you look, it's about how you feel.
33:16I do fluctuate massively between being slimmer and chunkier.
33:22It's a permanent battle with my weight.
33:25I've got my thin wardrobe.
33:27I've got my slightly chunky wardrobe.
33:30And then I've got my full chunky wardrobe.
33:33But 60% of the clothing that I own, I don't tend to wear.
33:38I was at my skinny, like, one of my skinniest when I wore that.
33:41That was a memory, but there's no way I'm getting me in that again.
33:44I looked good in it when I wore it, but it can go.
33:47Yeah?
33:47Yeah. Good.
33:48OK.
33:48I mean, this is insanely good.
33:51Well done.
33:52How does that make you feel?
33:54It's just when you're looking, it's like, oh, I've got rid of all that.
33:58What if I've got nothing to wear?
33:59Is that a joke?
34:01No.
34:01What if I've got nothing to wear?
34:03If I've got options.
34:05Yeah.
34:05I feel better then.
34:06Who cares what people think?
34:07God.
34:08I mean, I'm wearing fake bum pants, do you know what I mean?
34:10Oh, yeah.
34:11Yeah.
34:13At the Craigs, Ewan is really going for it on that stained Tupperware.
34:17I've got to hold onto the sink because it's helping me focus.
34:21This is good, Phil, if you suffer from bingo wings.
34:25And Rob's next build is a vision to double Elle's play area in her bedroom.
34:29I've got a plan to give Elle even more floor space above her bed.
34:35Place a staircase that leads all the way up to the top level of the bed
34:40to gain access to a new play area.
34:43The space in the stairs will all be storage.
34:49Oh, you need the dust mask.
34:53But when it's hot, it gets sweaty.
34:58Hello.
35:02I do something called unsubscribe on a Monday.
35:04When all those emails come in, spend two minutes just unsubscribing
35:08because the encouragement is what's keeping you spending.
35:12Now that the family's making really good progress...
35:15Do I think I am Lady Gaga?
35:17...it's time to consider a section that may not need slashing
35:20but does need sorting.
35:22Let's talk about our memories.
35:24We've been approved for adoption.
35:25We found a potential match.
35:27Today we met you for the first time.
35:29I wish I'd had a file like this.
35:31It's all about Elle.
35:32It's all about her life.
35:34Oh, my God.
35:35I don't think I can read it.
35:37Oh, my God.
35:37This is so nice.
35:39What does adoption mean?
35:41Adoption means belonging to and growing up with a new adoptive family
35:45where you can't live with the family that you were born into.
35:48Like millions and millions of other children all over the world,
35:51you are adopted.
35:52This is because your daddies have adopted you.
35:54God, sorry.
35:57Many famous people and characters who have been adopted,
36:00Superman, Paddington Pearce, Stuart Little, Babe the Pig,
36:04I never knew that.
36:05This is such a lovely, lovely thing.
36:07Honestly, if I could do it again and again...
36:11Which you're going to?
36:13Oh, God.
36:16I am so grateful for people like you.
36:18What you're doing is so amazing.
36:20You know, this process is all about reducing these items
36:23so that you've got that spare room so that you can adopt again.
36:26Yep.
36:27As hard as it is to part with your clothes, this is what we want, yeah?
36:30We want another one of these vials, don't we?
36:33Mm-hmm.
36:34Or five?
36:35Five? Oh, God.
36:36You want five?
36:37Five?
36:37Yeah.
36:41Let's talk about these dodgy haircuts, shall we?
36:44I mean, what is this?
36:45Oh, my gosh, these photos are...
36:48Oh, God.
36:49Can I say comical?
36:50Yeah.
36:51This is like punk era.
36:53I mean, the Quakes are very sentimental
36:56and, obviously, they want to keep everything of L's
36:59because it's been such a journey for them.
37:01I lost my own file that I had and, honestly, I kick myself.
37:05I keep thinking one day I'm going to open a memory box somewhere in my loft
37:08and it's going to be there, but I've been through those boxes 200 times
37:11and I still can't find it.
37:12You've done so well on your toys.
37:16What do you love the most about your two daddies?
37:18Giving you cuddles.
37:20Giving you cuddles.
37:22Dilly?
37:23Yeah?
37:23Come here, sir.
37:25Oh, I very rarely get summonsed.
37:27The Craigs have a surprise for Dilly.
37:30Do you know the page about other people that are adopted?
37:33Oh, yeah.
37:34Let's have a look at it.
37:38This page.
37:39Oh, God.
37:43Dilly Carter, professional organiser and lover of leopard.
37:47And there's a little picture of me.
37:50You're the cutest, you two.
37:53Oh, I love that. Thank you.
37:56You're so sweet.
37:58But we thought your book meant so much to you.
38:01And now you're part of ours?
38:03Oh.
38:06Thank you very much.
38:10I'm so beyond touched.
38:12I honestly can't believe it.
38:14It's so, so lovely.
38:17Right, we have half...
38:19Did I make you jump?
38:22We have half an hour left.
38:25Go back through all the sections.
38:27Now is the time.
38:28Let's go, go, go, go, go.
38:31Oh, I haven't done this much exercise since 2016.
38:34Come on, Dilly.
38:35We have to go fast.
38:37What will shoes go on?
38:39Do we need these heads?
38:40Little Craig, you are putting things in jam jars
38:43and we don't quite have time for that, yeah?
38:45Focus on the important things.
38:47Did you just bow?
38:48I did.
38:49I did.
38:49I love that.
38:50I wish more people would bow.
38:53Three, two, one.
38:56Oh, no.
39:00I did it.
39:04After two days of hard work,
39:06the family have successfully managed to reduce their belongings by 70%.
39:12Well done.
39:13Big round of applause, everybody.
39:15Woo!
39:17Goodbye, warehouse!
39:24Oh, dear.
39:26The more boxes that come in, the more I want to cry.
39:31It's 9am and we've got 180 boxes to fit back into the house.
39:36I'm going to have to do my best folding today to get all those t-shirts back into this house.
39:40Well, I've given you a lot of hanging space if that helps.
39:43Hair looks nice, doesn't it?
39:44Yeah, your hair does look different.
39:46It's fresh.
39:46Don't lie.
39:47That has been cut.
39:48Are you serious?
39:49You've got a trim in the warehouse.
39:51For five minutes, he's literally just trimmed off the dead end.
39:55Right, seriously though, we need to get on.
39:57You better start with clothes.
39:58Yep.
39:58What have you got left to do, Rob?
39:59I am fitting Elle's new elevated plate area.
40:02I'm going to crack on with some cleaning now.
40:04I want to put something jazzy in here.
40:05Oh, nice.
40:06Yeah, I know.
40:06I've got a good idea, guys.
40:07Let's get to it.
40:08Let's get to it.
40:08Let's go, go, go.
40:10First up, Rob has his hands full constructing the upper deck for Elle's bed.
40:15Here's the first of the two sides that I need to create this staircase.
40:18So I've set this to regulation height, and I'm now going to work on the second.
40:27In between each one of these steps is going to be storage.
40:30Draw in this step, draw in this step, draw in this step, and a cupboard up there.
40:35Storage heaven.
40:37Inside the house, I'm bringing some beauty to the living room ceiling.
40:41I feel like Craig and Craig actually decorated so lovely in here,
40:45and I'm trying to take it that step further with one of these.
40:48It's like a traditional ceiling rose, but it's made out of a really light, foamy material,
40:52and all I'm going to have to do is glue it to the ceiling.
40:57My friend actually told me that if you glue little circles,
41:01it creates a little vacuum, so then it sticks a bit better.
41:04I'm going to just push that up.
41:08Cork is a painter's friend. A decorator's friend, in fact.
41:13How beautiful.
41:16Slowly but surely turning this house into Downton Abbey.
41:19One ceiling rose at a time.
41:21Ewan is also working at height.
41:24I am giving it a good clean-up here, because what tends to happen is the grease settles and then
41:29dust sticks to it.
41:30If we are popping things on top of our cupboards, I would consider making sure they're in things with lids.
41:35That is squeaky clean now.
41:37You know there's no grease left over when it's making this noise.
41:41Upstairs, Dilly's in the master bedroom making the most of their space under the bed.
41:47Ottomans are great for bulky storage, like duvets, pillows, or in this case, excess clothes, shoes.
41:54When we're organising all our things under the bed, let's think of the word storage, like an acronym.
42:00S, sort. T, let's tidy everything. O, let's organise it. R, let's reduce the things that we don't need.
42:09Once I take this upstairs, my next focus is then the wardrobe itself, which goes from floor to ceiling.
42:16A, we want to assign zones. G, gather all the items together in their right containers. E, evaluate.
42:23Do I still really need all these hoodies? If I don't, can I let them go?
42:27While Dilly's busy reorganising the bed and the alphabet, I'm working on a surprise for Elle.
42:33This is Elle's favourite thing in the whole wide world, so I thought, why not make a supersized version out
42:40of her mirror?
42:41Look at this material we found. Look at that for a match.
42:44I'm going to start gluing. If we can do little things inside the room that keep that bit of consistency,
42:52I think that'll really help her with the change. I am just pulling the fabric onto the bit that I've
42:57glued
42:58and making sure that it's nice and tight.
43:03Alright, here we go. Moment of truth. Oh!
43:12It's good, isn't it? Imagine a mirror in here. And also, I brought this button and recorded that sound onto
43:22here.
43:22So I'm going to put this on her mirror. And then whenever she wants to hear the sound...
43:29It's on the button.
43:33Elle's going to love it.
43:38If I don't break it.
43:41While Rob makes sure that Elle's elevated play area is safe...
43:44I'm going to attach the netting all the way along the top.
43:48Under tension so it's nice and tight.
43:51Ewan's upstairs where it's bath time.
43:53I've got a great little trick to clean your shower plug hole using a big cable tie and a pair
44:01of scissors.
44:01In the direction of the pointy end, cut some diagonal lines alternating as you go.
44:07We're essentially fishing for hair right now.
44:10Oh yeah. That's...
44:14That's really got caught.
44:16Oh.
44:17This is like a rat.
44:19Crikey.
44:21Oh my goodness. I'm amazed that their bath was draining.
44:25Oh.
44:28Whoa.
44:32That is catch of the day. Come on.
44:34I never thought I'd see the day.
44:36But Dilly's been won over by the Craig's sentimental side.
44:41Family cards are a huge thing in the Craig's household.
44:44And I get it. You know, they've been through so much with Elle.
44:47And they want to keep all the lovely cards that people have sent them.
44:50So I've grouped them in their categories.
44:52These are all their adoption cards, their new dad cards.
44:55I thought I'd make a little feature of them just by keeping them all nicely grouped together
44:59but tied with a gorgeous pink ribbon.
45:02You literally just hole punch in the corner.
45:05You can just thread the ribbon through.
45:08And the great thing about it being a bow is that you can keep adding to it.
45:13All right, you lot. Come and take a look at the finished product.
45:16What do you think, guys?
45:18What?
45:18That's so cool.
45:20It's past lunchtime and while the rest of the house is all way off,
45:23Rob has Elle's bedroom in the bag.
45:25So this is the netting to make sure that Elle doesn't fall off of the edge.
45:29I've put noggins in. It's not going anywhere.
45:33This is actually epic.
45:34What else have you got to do today?
45:36I've got two hands ready for you.
45:37Perfect. So you go down to the kitchen.
45:39Yeah.
45:40You clean the front room.
45:41I'm going to finish this.
45:42We'll start organising in here.
45:43Out.
45:44Oh, I feel so...
45:45Into the kitchen for you.
45:47Where you belong.
45:48I've learned a valuable lesson today.
45:51When I finish all my jobs early, don't tell anyone.
45:54Rob's been rumbled.
45:55So while he sorts the cutlery.
45:56And how does it go?
45:57Is it nice forks and spoons?
45:59Spoons, knives and forks.
46:01Or fork, spoon and knife.
46:02I can't help but squeeze in one final craft.
46:06We're still quite a way away.
46:07Some might say we're not in a position for crafty flower handprints,
46:11but I would disagree.
46:15Group cutlery by type.
46:17Knives, forks and spoons.
46:20Ha!
46:20I've got it right.
46:22I had an idea to make a little handprint frame thing.
46:25I'm just going to glue on some dry flowers.
46:27Anyone new comes into their lives,
46:29they can then put their little handprints underneath.
46:31Put it in the frame.
46:33And...
46:34Ta-da!
46:36I know that Craig and Craig will love that.
46:40It's adorable.
46:41I've decanted a little bit of the leftover gin.
46:44All you need to do is just mix it half and half with water
46:47and it works really well
46:48for cleaning your windows and your mirrors.
46:52And with the box room clear of wardrobes...
46:54For now, this is going to be like a spare room,
46:57but hopefully in the future,
46:58this can be the next little one's room.
47:02The garden room is reclaiming its former glory.
47:06Perfect.
47:08And the final countdown is on.
47:10Whoa!
47:11Yeah, wait!
47:12You were...
47:12Oh!
47:13What?
47:13You're on me curtains.
47:15Someone, I thought your curtains are hanging so low, is it?
47:17Is that alright, Deals?
47:18Does that look good?
47:19Yeah, that's better.
47:20Right, go, go, go.
47:22Whoa!
47:22Is this coming out?
47:23This is going in the middle,
47:24but first we need to put the big rug down.
47:25Right.
47:26Is there more in the rug?
47:27Oh, yes.
47:28No, that is so wonky.
47:30Careful, it's got all those wax smells in it.
47:32That filter needs cleaning you in.
47:34Oh, we haven't got time for that now, Diddy.
47:36Let's roll the rug out.
47:37Yeah.
47:37Let's go, go, go.
47:39I think that's it, isn't it?
47:41Yeah!
47:41Oh, well done, gang.
47:43Woo!
47:44Well done.
47:45Bring it in.
47:46Bring it in.
47:47Oh, people.
47:51Come on, wife.
47:53Hi!
47:54Welcome home!
47:56Hello, darling.
47:58So, are you excited, Elle?
48:00Yeah.
48:01Yeah?
48:01What are you hoping to see?
48:03My bedroom.
48:05Was it so much hard work?
48:07It was so much hard work, Elle.
48:10Were they all tired?
48:12Everyone was very tired, but so happy to be doing it.
48:15Do you want to go inside and have a look?
48:17Yes.
48:18Come on, Ed.
48:20All right.
48:21Come in.
48:22All out.
48:23To your new living room.
48:26Seven days ago, the family's living room was littered with toys, clothes and cupboards
48:31they couldn't open.
48:33Oh, I love it.
48:34Now it's clear from clutter and zoned into a peaceful sofa area with plenty of accessible
48:40cupboards.
48:42Do you want to see something magical?
48:44Look inside here.
48:47Oh, wow.
48:48All your toys are in rainbow order.
48:51Oh, it's beautiful.
48:52Feel like I need to take my shoes off.
48:54Yeah.
48:55I just didn't think it would be this nice.
48:59Something we can get to the plug sockets.
49:01Little things.
49:02Little things.
49:04Previously home to Little Craig's workstation and an overstuffed crafting cupboard.
49:09The kitchen now has a functional dining space and an organised cooking area.
49:14What's on my door?
49:15What's on your door?
49:17What's on your door?
49:17It's an E.
49:18Upstairs, I'm excited to show Elle her room.
49:22Come into your new bedroom.
49:27Whoa.
49:35Is it good?
49:37Yeah.
49:39Seven days ago this room was rammed full of Elle's toys and clothes with no access to storage
49:44and no space to play.
49:47Rob built this whole bed for you.
49:52This is so fun.
49:54Isn't it cool?
49:56Now, with a bed that combines wardrobe, drawers and an elevated play area, Elle's play space
50:02and storage have both doubled in size.
50:05All of your steps on your ladder there.
50:08Yeah.
50:08They've all got drawers.
50:10What's in this one?
50:12I know how much you love your music box.
50:14Yeah.
50:14So I tried to make this mirror the same as your music box pattern.
50:19Can you see?
50:20Uh-huh.
50:21And if you press this button, guess what it does?
50:25At the same time?
50:27Whoa.
50:29My friends will be so jealous.
50:33I think they will, Elle.
50:35I'm jealous.
50:36Hello!
50:38Oh, my God, that's amazing.
50:39That's mad.
50:41I'm on top.
50:42I've literally got no words.
50:44Oh, that's amazing.
50:46It looks really massive.
50:47Yeah.
50:48And there's, like, room for her to play here and there.
50:52Rob is a genius.
50:54Love you.
50:55Love you.
50:55Love you, Elle.
50:57I'm coming up, Elle.
50:58I'm coming up.
51:00Wow, if you're up there, it's definitely sturdy, isn't it?
51:03Yep.
51:03I think it's about time we saw your bedroom.
51:07Are you ready for this?
51:09Yeah.
51:10Yeah.
51:10Come on!
51:11Welcome to your bedroom.
51:13Oh!
51:15Oh!
51:17Oh!
51:17Oh, this is like a hotel.
51:19Craig and Craig's bedroom had so much potential, but was drowning in dressing gowns and clothes.
51:28I love it.
51:30Do you?
51:31Mad!
51:32Now, with a massive tidy and a liquor paint, it's a bedtime sanctuary with plenty of storage.
51:39You had all your wardrobes in the third room, so we thought we'd bring them in here, but we didn't
51:45want doors because the space is tight here.
51:47So we've just put these heavy draped curtains to make it feel a bit bougie.
51:51That's mental.
51:53I genuinely can't wait to go to bed tonight.
51:55Well, no, they've come out.
51:56Good!
51:57I showed zeal.
51:59I couldn't help myself.
52:00I always thought that hair was okay.
52:05Right, Craigs.
52:06There's one more room to see up here.
52:08You ready?
52:09I think so.
52:12Just a week ago, this box room was one big wardrobe hosting unopened kitchenware and forgotten clothes.
52:19That's mad.
52:21Why was it so much bigger?
52:24Now, it's a fully-fledged extra bedroom, ready for whatever the future may hold for the family.
52:33You okay?
52:34Okay.
52:35Yeah.
52:38This room's caught me, like, what's the word, off guard, because I didn't know what to expect.
52:47It's beautiful, full of it.
52:50It's a lot to take in, isn't it?
52:52Yeah, it is.
52:54That's cute.
52:55So that is Elle's hand.
52:57And I left some space up the top here in case you expand on your family and then you can
53:01add some more hands.
53:04Does it feel like it's possible now?
53:07Yeah.
53:10Yeah.
53:11Yeah.
53:12Yeah, it does.
53:12Well, it does.
53:15It's not going to stay as a spare room, is it?
53:17I'm ready now.
53:18Just seeing what it could have been and what it should have been for a long time.
53:25Informational, isn't it?
53:27Well, a kid would be really happy now, wouldn't they?
53:31Yeah.
53:35No peeking.
53:37Just don't look up.
53:38Okay.
53:39There's just one more space I am dying to show the Craigs.
53:45Three, two, one, open.
53:50Oh my God.
53:54The garden room that once held so much promise had become an overflow for the household's clutter.
54:00This is mental.
54:02Now it's a multifunctional space where both Craigs can work and relax.
54:07We really wanted to create a space out here where you could craft little Craig, you can work.
54:14And I know that you wanted to be Craig to have a proper place to see clients and to do
54:19their hair.
54:19I'm speechless.
54:21You're going to never get me out of here.
54:24You've got two in the morning while you're coming to bed.
54:26Oh no, I'll be with you. I'll have a gin.
54:28You can craft.
54:30I think this is my favourite room.
54:32And your gin fits on this.
54:35I love this.
54:37Can I sit down?
54:38You can both sit down.
54:41You can sit in your craft chair Craig.
54:43I know how much your grandad meant to you.
54:47So, I did something just so that you've got him around you all the time.
54:52If you pick up that phone, you can have a little listen.
54:59Oh, grandson of mine, I hope you're feeling fine.
55:03This is your grandfather on the line.
55:06Oh, how is the grandson of mine?
55:08Love you. Bye.
55:15I can't even talk.
55:17Any time you want to hear his voice, you can just pick up that phone and listen.
55:22And he's in.
55:24Oh, you've got me.
55:25Oh, I'm sorry Craig.
55:30That's beautiful.
55:34Yeah.
55:35Watch me eyebrows.
55:38Beautiful.
55:40Now do you need a gin?
55:41Yeah.
55:42Or five.
55:43OK.
55:46It's been a long week.
55:48Hello.
55:49Hello guys.
55:50How we doing?
55:51Hey.
55:51Oh, I found the party.
55:54Dilly couldn't be here, but yeah, she sends her love.
55:57Seeing Craig and Craig actually imagine adopting again is the most special part for us.
56:02Bring it in.
56:03We love you.
56:04We love you so much.
56:05A week ago, we were ready to bend all the rules to just make sure that no matter what Elle
56:10felt comfortable,
56:11so if she didn't want to let go of anything, we were going to make it work.
56:13Sorry, we're closed.
56:15But actually, she enjoyed letting go of a lot of her toys knowing they were going somewhere else,
56:20and now seeing her face when she walked into that bedroom is just the best feeling in the world.
56:26So, whew, mission accomplished.
56:29Big squeeze.
56:33Hello.
56:34Very good.
56:36Genuinely, this process has changed our lives.
56:38Yeah.
56:39For the better.
56:39We've got the time back.
56:41We've got the space, like Elle to play.
56:45Elle's managed to have people over after school for play dates.
56:48My favourite thing about the house is my bedroom.
56:51It has an upstairs and a little ceiling.
56:54When someone new comes over, the first thing she will do is take their hand like,
56:58come and look at my room.
56:59I love the spare room I do.
57:01It's given us that motivation to think about the next adoption,
57:04and we think we're going to start filling in the paperwork in the next two months.
57:08Two kids.
57:09Not five.
57:10No.
57:10Seven?
57:11No.
57:11Oh, okay.
57:12Cute.
57:13And I've managed to find my granddad's pipes.
57:16You found them, didn't you?
57:17Yeah.
57:17I was actually looking for some shoes.
57:19Tried to put them on and I was like, what's this in the shoe?
57:21And lo and behold, it was the missing pipes.
57:24But yeah, miracles do happen.
57:26And I'm the bringer of miracles.
57:29Okay, hon.
