00:00In this video tutorial, I am going to show you how you can link a custom domain with
00:04your Shopify store.
00:05No matter whether your domain is hosted on Hostinger, GoDaddy, Namecheap or any other
00:11service provider.
00:12This method will work on all kinds of service providers and all kinds of domains, no matter
00:18whether you are using .com domain, .net domain, .shop domain or .online or any other kind
00:25of domain.
00:26This method will work on all kinds of domains.
00:28So let's start this video.
00:31So I have logged into my Shopify store and also I have logged into my Hostinger account
00:38as well.
00:39So to add a custom domain to our Shopify store, let's move towards the setting but before
00:47that I have to show you what our current domain is.
00:52So this is our current domain.
00:54This is a free domain of Shopify.
00:58So I will close this window and this time I will go to the settings of our Shopify store
01:05and here I will hover towards the domain and open it.
01:13And now I will click on connect existing and now let's move towards our Hostinger account
01:22and go towards the domain, domain portfolio and here is our domain shop like pro.shop which
01:31we are going to add with our Shopify store.
01:34So let's open its manage section and let's copy this domain and paste it over here and click
01:46on next.
01:51Next.
01:52Domain added to your store.
01:54Domain added to your store.
01:56But our work is not done yet because we will have to update our DNS name servers and you
02:04can see needs set up.
02:05So DNS records are not published to Shopify.
02:12So what we have to do is to copy this and go to our domain and update the A server,
02:24A record
02:25and then CNAME record.
02:26So let's copy it from here and hover towards the DNS name servers and skip the name servers
02:35and move over the name servers.
02:40So you can see here we have CNAME and A type already here and if you are doing it for
02:48the
02:48second or third time you might see a lot of sections here.
02:52So make sure to reset name servers, but if you are doing it for the first time it's okay
02:57go with it.
02:58So you can see we have to update the A record.
03:02So I have copied it already and on the A section I will click on edit and point to, you
03:12can see
03:12points to.
03:13I will update it with what we have copied from there.
03:17So TTL remain the same because it's not over here, name will be at the rate as it is already.
03:26So click on update.
03:28So you can see there is an error which indicate that TTL value must be between 60 and 86400.
03:39So we will update it to 60 and then click on update.
03:47Now we will have to edit the CNAME.
03:51So copy this one from here, return back to the DNS name servers, open the CNAME added section
04:01and on the target just paste it and click on update.
04:08So now return back to our Shopify store and click on I updated DNS records.
04:17Now wait for 12 seconds and DNS records are pointing to Shopify domain is live in all regions
04:26globally, but TTL certificate takes five minutes.
04:30So let's wait for five minutes and then I will continue this video.
04:37So you can see after five minutes our domain is connected to our Shopify store and TLS certificate
04:46provisions for secure connection.
04:48So let's open our domain.
04:54So if I go to shoplikepro.shop we can see it shows our website is coming soon because it
05:03is password protected as I haven't updated my Shopify plan.
05:11So it is not live yet.
05:14So our domain is actually linked with our Shopify store.
05:20So in this way you can link our custom domain with your Shopify store.
05:26Hope this video helps you to learn something new.
