00:00One day, Jesus rode into the city of Jerusalem on a little donkey.
00:06Crowds gathered, waving palm branches and shouting,
00:10Hosanna!
00:11They were so happy to see him.
00:14Jesus was their king.
00:17Come to bring peace and love.
00:20Later that week, Jesus had a special dinner with his closest friends.
00:24He broke bread and shared a cup, saying, This is my body, and this is my blood, given for you.
00:35Jesus knew something very hard was about to happen, but he wanted his friends to know how much he loved
00:43them.
00:43Then Jesus gave them a promise.
00:46He said, I will go away for a little while, but don't be afraid.
00:51I will come back to life again.
00:54Then, his friends didn't fully understand, but Jesus was sharing a hope that would soon change the world.
01:04That night, Jesus went to a quiet garden to pray.
01:08He felt sad and afraid.
01:11He asked God for strength because he knew what was coming.
01:15Jesus chose to obey, even though it would be hard, because he loves us so much.
01:24While Jesus prayed, a group of soldiers came to the garden.
01:30They were led by a man named Judas, one of Jesus' own followers.
01:37Judas had chosen to betray Jesus and helped the leaders who were angry with him.
01:43They didn't believe Jesus was the Son of God, and they were afraid of the love and truth he taught.
01:50So, they had him arrested, even though Jesus had done nothing wrong.
01:59But Jesus didn't run away.
02:01He knew this was part of God's plan to save the world.
02:08Jesus was taken to a place called Calvary, where he was put on a cross.
02:14Even though he had the power to stop everything, Jesus chose to stay.
02:20Because he was rescuing us, he took the punishment for all the wrong things people had done and would ever
02:28do.
02:28Jesus forgave the people who hurt him.
02:32He looked at the sky and said,
02:35Father, I place my life in your hands.
02:39Then Jesus took his last breath, and everything grew quiet.
02:44But this was not the end.
02:47Jesus had made a promise.
02:49I will rise again.
02:58Jesus' friends were very sad.
03:01They gently placed his body in a tomb, and a big stone was rolled in front.
03:09But early on Sunday morning, something amazing happened.
03:15An angel came and rolled the stone away.
03:19The tomb was empty.
03:22Jesus wasn't there.
03:24He had come back to life, just like he promised.
03:29The angel told them,
03:32Jesus is alive.
03:34Joy filled their hearts.
03:38Jesus had won.
03:40His love was stronger than death.
03:43And because of that, we never have to be afraid.
03:51Jesus appeared to his friends to show them he was truly alive.
03:56He gave them hope and peace.
03:58And then, one day, he returned to heaven where he watches over us still.
