00:00Here are the three things that I'm watching for from AEW Dynamite coming up on Wednesday.
00:05First up, obviously, we have two of the best wrestlers in the world facing off.
00:08It's Kenny Omega against Swerve Strickland.
00:10This is a stipulation where it's number one contender versus EVP.
00:14It's a stipulation that makes sense.
00:16With the Swerve character, he put in so much work to get the EVP powers away from the Young Bucks.
00:21It makes sense that he would want them back, and I think there's a story that you could tell with
00:25that.
00:26Obviously, there's some hypocrisy with it, as again, he was trying to get rid of that.
00:29It's not a storyline that wrestling fans are super stoked about.
00:32I think getting this EV power back into things with AEW, but I think for the character of Swerve Strickland,
00:38it does make a little bit of sense.
00:40Again, we got here a little bit with a convoluted way where Kenny Omega is saying,
00:44Hey, you're the number one contender, and Swerve's like, I didn't know that, but cool.
00:47I will gladly put up that number one contendership that I didn't know I had to take you on, but
00:52I want that EVP power.
00:53I think you can see either of them winning it.
00:55It makes more sense for Kenny to get the victory here and go into Dynasty in Vancouver as the number
01:02one contender against MJF, but very fascinated to see how that one goes and just going to be a phenomenal
01:08wrestling match.
01:08Also, a Women's World Championship bout, the Toxic Spider Tekla taking on Mina Shirakawa.
01:14I am hoping that the sudden and lengthy absence of Toni Storm is going to bring out more of the
01:21serious side of Mina Shirakawa.
01:23And I understand I'm looking for the serious side from a competitor who, even when she was being as serious
01:29as she has ever been, has a choreographed dance to start every match.
01:32But I think that there is a little bit more seriousness to this performer and to this character than we
01:38have seen in AEW so far.
01:39She's played the role with Toni Storm perfectly, but now her partner's been attacked, her partner's been taken out, she
01:45gets a world title opportunity against someone she was in the same promotion with in stardom.
01:49I am hoping we see the best from Mina Shirakawa on Wednesday.
01:52And I've said before, Tekla is my favorite character, one of them anyway, in professional wrestling right now.
01:57So any opportunity to see her perform at a championship level, I will gladly take that.
02:02And last up, Darby Allin against Roosh.
02:04This is just going to be an amazing match, and I love, and I was kind of wondering if this
02:07is the direction they would go.
02:08We've kind of put the Deathrider thing behind us, he put the War Dogs away in a coffin.
02:13Darby Allin now pushing for a world title opportunity.
02:16I am looking forward to seeing how that elevates now.
02:19And obviously with Roosh, Andrade El Idolo, shouldn't be hard to find, or shouldn't be far behind, sorry.
02:24And those two, in a feud, I think would be a very unique clash of styles, but one of those
02:31dream matches that you wouldn't even dream of until AEW put it on your television.
02:35So that's what I'm looking for coming up from AEW Dynamite.
