00:00I've directed the Department of War to temporarily postpone planned strikes against
00:05major energy and electricity targets in Iran.
00:09They have discussions, very, very good discussions.
00:12And you have to understand, I know my whole life has been a negotiation,
00:16but with Iran we've been negotiating for a long time.
00:20Operation Epic Fury, I love that name.
00:23And it's very appropriate for what's taking place, if you know.
00:26And we knocked out their air force, we knocked out their anti-aircraft, we knocked out everything.
00:32As I announced earlier, based on preliminary conversations between the United States and Iran over the past two days,
00:39I've directed the Department of War to temporarily postpone planned strikes against
00:44major energy and electricity targets in Iran.
00:48They have very, very big, new, actually, and very expensive, billions of dollars it cost to build.
00:54them one missile, one of our powerful ones, and it comes down to the ground like it was made out
00:59of dust.
01:01But to determine whether a broader agreement can be reached, we've had very good discussions,
01:06very, very good discussions.
01:08And you have to understand, I know my whole life has been a negotiation,
01:12but with Iran we've been negotiating for a long time.
01:15And this time they mean business.
01:18And it's only because of the great job that our military did is the reason they mean business.
01:24They want to settle, and we're going to get it done, I hope.
01:32So, hopefully this will be possible, but no matter what, we'll ensure that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.
01:38They can't have a nuclear weapon.
01:40They would have had one if we allowed the Obama deal to stand.
01:46That was the Iran nuclear deal, they called it.
01:48They would have had one, Marsha III.
01:51Well, I tell you what, Martha, we would have nuclear weapons up there when, would you say,
01:57two years ago, three years ago, or four years ago,
02:00we would have been in a position that nobody wants to be in.
02:05We won't allow ourselves to be in that position.
02:07Over the past three weeks, the United States military and our partners
02:11have been decimating Iran's military capabilities with overwhelming firepower skill,
02:18lethality in force, and we're destroying their ballistic missiles and drones programs
02:23with launchers down by more than 90%.
02:27We're hitting their launchers at a level that nobody even thought of before, 90%.
02:32They can't launch them, and they don't have very many of them, because most of them have been annihilated.
02:40But we've annihilated their defense industrial base, eliminating their Navy.
02:44We had 158 ships are down.
02:47I said to my people, why didn't you capture this ship?
02:50I said, were they good or not?
02:52They said, they were great, sir.
02:53So why didn't you capture it?
02:55We could have used them.
02:55They said, it's more fun to put them at the bottom of the sea.
03:00But they're not there anymore.
03:02So we eliminated their Navy, Pete, right?
03:05And that's gone.
03:06We eliminated their Air Force.
03:08We eliminated all of their air defense, everything.
03:12We eliminated everything there is to eliminate, and we eliminated them.
03:17We eliminated their leaders.
03:18We had the first set of leaders.
03:23They're gone.
03:24Then they met.
03:2688 people met.
03:27And it's sad.
03:28I mean, it's sad they couldn't have made a deal.
03:30We could have made a deal with them a long time ago.
03:32Then the second set, 88 people met to pick a new leader, and they're now extinguished.
03:39And then they're meeting again.
03:41But now nobody wants to be the leader.
03:42It's one of the few political jobs that nobody wants anywhere in the world.
03:46Nobody wants it.
03:47It's a very dangerous job.
03:49My job is dangerous, too, but their job is worse.
03:52In other words, we're systematically dismantling the regime's ability to threaten America.
03:58They're not threatening us anymore.
04:00As Commander-in-Chief, it's my sacred responsibility to protect our country from all threats.
04:06For decades, Iran refused every opportunity to renounce its nuclear ambitions, and in recent
04:12months, its own.
04:12Iran negotiators bragged to our representatives about having enough material to make nuclear
04:18weapons.
04:18And that was supposed to deter me.
04:21But it didn't deter.
04:23It made me more anxious, and it just made it much more important.
04:29This mission that we're all on together was much more important, and we did it quicker.
04:34Iran's missile capabilities were also growing so fast that it would soon have become virtually
04:40impossible to stop them.
04:41Once they have a missile, once they have what they were building was incredible.
04:46And you got a little glimpse of it by the fact that when they came out, they started shooting
04:51all of their neighbors.
04:52Their neighbors weren't fighting with them.
04:53They were getting along okay with their neighbors, and I was surprised.
04:58Everybody was surprised.
04:59And it actually worked in reverse because their neighbors then turned against them.
05:05Now, Iran has one more opportunity to end its threats to America and her allies, and we
05:11hope they take it.
05:12Either way, America and the entire world will soon be much safer and will be a much more secure
05:19planet.
