00:00Thinking that in a very technological world football would remain without technology is obviously a no-go.
00:11So technology must support football and technology is supporting football.
00:19Now, VAR is the most visible support that technology is offering to football.
00:30It assists the referees, but you raise the right point.
00:36Technology must be for football and not football for technology.
00:40This is the main function of VAR, to avoid clear and obvious mistakes.
00:47And we should never forget it because if you think that VAR should intervene everywhere, then we are at risk
00:55when it comes to the flow of the game.
00:57Completely.
00:58And the flow of the game is the beauty of this game.
01:01That's why I think the clear and obvious is really the key of VAR.
01:08If, as you say, if it takes three, four minutes to come to a conclusion, which may still be...
01:15Subjective in a way.
01:16Subjective and doubtful.
01:17Subjective and doubtful, right?
01:17Then it's not clear and obvious.
01:19I mean, then the decision on the field stands.
01:21Because at the end of the day, let's not forget that the one commanding decisions is still the referee.
01:27With or without VAR.
01:30So even with the support of VAR, the referee is the one who has to decide whether what he has
01:36reviewed was really a clear mistake or not.
01:41Subjective and doubtful.
01:42Subjective and doubtful.
01:42Subjective and doubtful.
01:42Subjective and doubtful.
01:42Subjective and doubtful.
01:42Merci.
