00:03I think in that one year period, I think I've learned a lot of things. I know there were a
00:11lot of disappointments, there were a lot of ups and downs for me, but what I learned out of it
00:18as a person is I've become even more matured. I'm understanding how to get out of the difficult situation, which
00:25I'm thrilled at like being physically not so fit.
00:29Mentally, I was down. So just how to come out of it as an individual. So I kind of it
00:35was not like a clear cut answer where I could just ask someone and get an answer. It was myself
00:40fighting by myself knowing how I can get better, trying out different things, maybe doing more visualization, meeting new people,
00:50or just meditating a little more or just staying calm. And I kind of had these injuries. So those are
00:57the things which I tried out.
00:58And eventually I found out my own way how I can come out of it. And I've learned a lot
01:05because I made mistakes. I've learned a lot of things through those mistakes. And then as a cricketer, obviously, when
01:10you're injured, when you're mentally down, when you're physically not able to do what you want to do, what you
01:16love doing is to play cricket. I love playing cricket.
01:18So that one year where I didn't play cricket, I was like, Oh, what's next? Will I be able to
01:23play cricket? Those are the questions I had. But I'm very lucky and grateful that I could fight those thoughts
01:29and become a better person.
01:31Be a little more calmer and clear with my mindset. And as a cricketer, I think once you know you're
01:39in that difficult situation and you're come out of it, when you just go out there and start playing, you'll
01:44just be grateful.
01:45So I was more grateful and lucky to just be back on the field and just do what I love
01:50doing.
01:55Absolutely. I was, I want to go back to the first games, the first T20 game against Australia when I
02:01played. That was my comeback. I mean, I played against GG11.
02:05But that also was like, I was so excited, so nervous. I was like, I want to do something. I
02:12want to put India in a situation that we can win.
02:15So that was my mindset when we played the practice game against GG11 and then heading into Sydney to play
02:22my first, I mean, my comeback T20 against Australia.
02:26I was like, wow, Sydney. We've spoken a lot about SCG and then just going out there and feeling that
02:32ground was something which I had, I was very surprised to do that.
02:37I'm like, wow, what feeling it is. And then I got hit for 2-0 was 24. I was like
02:42in pretty much confused mindset at that time.
02:45And I spoke to Arjun sir also after that game and we were traveling to Canberra in the bus. I
02:50was just having a chat with him like two and a half hours.
02:53I think I was on a call with him and I was like, I just expressed myself what I was
02:56going through. I think I did shed tears and I told this is what is not working.
03:01This is working and all of that. And then that chat actually helped me a lot because he is someone
03:07who I trust a lot.
03:09So he gave me some advice, which did really help me and make me feel better at that time.
03:14And then when I went to Canberra, when I hit the practice session, I just felt comfortable and just clear
03:21mindset.
03:21And then I just practiced everything. And then second T20, I was not playing.
03:25I felt a little upset. I was a little disappointed. But then, you know, cricket is a game where you
03:31have to go through all of this.
03:32So I was fine with it. And then hoping that I get the 30-20 where it was a must
03:38win for us.
03:39And then I went, I had a different mindset when I stepped into Adelaide.
03:44Like Raul Dravic, 233 runs. Virat, kind of, he's scored a lot of runs in that ground.
03:51I was talking to my friends and I was like, I think this is my game. I'm going to do
03:55something special in this ground.
03:57And then I went out there. It was a different aura. It was so nice to just step into that
04:03ground and feel that.
04:05And all the fans going, Sri Lanka, picture, picture. Can I take a picture? Can I take a picture?
04:11And that kind of, I felt good. I like when I get crowds' attention.
04:15And I went onto the field and I'm like, when I saw that first ball, I'm like, wow, okay, I'm
04:20back.
04:21And then me getting Perry's wicket was something which I've been dreaming of since, I don't know, how many years
04:28now.
04:29And I think I remember putting out a tweet saying that on her 300th game, she hit a 6.
04:36And then I'm like, on her 350th game, I got a wicket.
04:39So I'm so grateful and lucky to just get a wicket.
04:42And then George Jawohl and Sutherland, when she was going hard at us, I think I am really blessed and
04:49grateful for that spell.
04:51I think that was like a dream spell.
04:57I think always if you have a Pfeiffer in your bag, it's something where you can flaunt it and say,
05:02I have a Pfeiffer in WPL.
05:03So that kind of a feeling I had, obviously, getting a Pfeiffer needs a little more strength and courage to
05:09do it.
05:10And I did it against Gigi and I was very happy to get McLanning out again.
05:15So it's just a great, special feeling for me after a comeback WPL series season for me.
05:23I'm just grateful, like getting a Pfeiffer, I was dreamt of.
05:28So very special.
05:33I mean, it's no butterflies as of now.
05:36I'm just focusing on how to get better now, now that we won the T20 series against Australia.
05:41Now we are playing against South Africa, five T20 match against South Africa in South Africa.
05:46So we're just winning.
05:47We want to win those series and get the momentum going towards the World Cup, which is happening in London.
05:53So just taking one match at a time, getting better at each match and how well I can prepare myself
06:00to go out there
06:01and make that impact for the Indian team.
06:04So I'm just focusing on that.
06:06And maybe eventually when we get close to the World Cup, I think I'll start getting butterflies in my tummy.
06:15I mean, I missed being there, just dressing up, going out there, collecting a trophy in front of a number
06:22of talented cricketers there.
06:23So, but you know what, when you're injured, when you've gone through that phase and you're not being in the
06:31World Cup squad,
06:32it does hurt, but I think you'll have to take it in a way that, okay, I'll get better and
06:36I'll try to make it to the next squad
06:39and win another title for India.
06:41So that's what my mindset is.
06:42And I think next time when we win the World Cup, I think I'll go there and collect my medal
06:46too.
06:50I think I trust my skill.
06:52I am someone who can turn the ball in any given pitch.
06:56I will try and give those extra revs.
06:59That comes naturally to me.
07:01So I've done that in Australia.
07:03So I'm just prepping the same way to South Africa in those conditions.
07:07How better I can get, maybe go there, get some practice sessions done,
07:10and figure out what your bowling style is working there and then maybe follow that and do well.
07:20I want to do what best I can do for team, whichever team I play for.
07:25Now that my focus is towards T20 World Cup, so whatever games I've been given,
07:29I want to make an impactful, I want to play that impact role and do what best I can do
07:35for the team
07:36in winning the titles or just match to start off with and then see how it goes.
07:42I'm not just thinking way too ahead that I want to be in the test squad.
07:46I want to be in the ODS squad, which I want to.
07:49I want to play in all the games.
07:51But, you know, when you just keep performing, when your focus and your mindset is there to win a game,
07:56I think rest falls in place.
08:02Firstly, I'm super happy and proud that this is my first business.
08:08I'm very proud and I'm very excited to start off with this perfume brand,
08:13which I've come up now, 317.
08:14It's a lovely story for me personally.
08:19317, 34-7 is my birthday.
08:21So it's again 317.
08:24And the first time we lifted WPL Trophy for RSCB was 17th March.
08:28And my serial number in the first ever auction was 317.
08:35So, I mean, we were talking about this 317, 317 with my family members, with my coach.
08:40And I mean, every conversation when we talk about cricket or just generally, it was like 317.
08:47I'm like, what do we do about it now?
08:49There should be something special we do about this number because so many coincidences.
08:54And I'm like, no, we have to come up with something new.
08:56And we were having a chat and why not a perfume brand?
08:59And then I took it very personally.
09:01And I'm like, I sat with Tarjun, sir, my brother, my family.
09:05And I'm like, we started testing the fragrance.
09:08No, I want this.
09:09I want that.
09:10So that was such a lovely time for us.
09:12It was like off time, but me time kind of a thing.
09:15And then we figured out, okay, this is some fragrance which I love.
09:19And I think people will love it.
09:21So I came up with this and I'm very grateful and proud of myself to say that 317 is my
09:26brand.
