Gabriela, a theater student and cheerleader for a basketball team begins a job at a carwash in order to help out her family - her father has just died and she is the eldest of her siblings. The carwash is owned by a famous businessman, Tony Clemente, who will meet Gabriela and have a short but passionate affair with her. Gabriela, however, is falsely accused of drug trafficking and ends up in jail, with a 15-year sentence. Tony abandons her due to her bad luck, choosing to ignore the fact that she is expecting his child. In jail, Gabriela plots her escape, something she pulls off after having served seven years behind bars. Only one objective drives her existence: revenge against the man who ruined her life, Tony Clemente. To achieve her purpose, she changes her name and her physical appearance and manages to reintroduce herself into the life of Tony, making him fall in love with her all over again.

00:13Why the hell did Mama keep this stuff?
00:20Tony.
00:22Where are you, Tony?
00:24What did she say?
00:25It sounded like a name.
00:30Come meet your son, Tony.
00:33That's what I want to find.
00:35Check out the banks, every one.
00:38We need to know if she's opened any accounts lately
00:41and how much is in them.
00:44I almost forgot to mention something.
00:47I had a call about one of your employees, a girl.
00:49What was her name?
00:51Don't tell him about that, Carol.
00:53For my love.
01:11You understand?
01:15Oh, it's so hard to see him this sick.
01:18I know how much this is hurting you, Nellie.
01:23I think he's still the same man.
01:25I feel that.
01:29He's the same, Andrew.
01:31No, not anymore.
01:34He's empty.
01:37Only...
01:39Only a shell, Julia.
01:41He's still alive.
01:46You'll know that he's more than a shell when you touch him.
01:50Nellie, come here.
01:53No, no.
01:55No, please.
01:57Wouldn't it be better if he'd pass away?
02:00No, Andrew just has to live.
02:04If he doesn't, I don't know what I'll do.
02:08You're in love with him.
02:11Am I right?
02:14Yes.
02:16But don't tell Gabrielle.
02:18Promise.
02:19You won't tell her.
02:22Andrew means everything to me.
02:31Julia.
02:31Julia.
02:37He never knew.
02:39If you'd told him, everything might have been different.
02:44He'll know it now.
02:48Whatever I can do, whatever needs to be done, I swear...
02:54I'm here.
02:56For Andrew.
03:04Um...
03:05Did you go to the police?
03:07What did they tell you?
03:08Uh, no.
03:09It wasn't important.
03:11They're still trying to discover who the thieves were.
03:14So they said.
03:23Hello.
03:24Hello.
03:25I think we'll be able to help you, Inspector.
03:27That's Lieutenant, sir.
03:28Sorry, Lieutenant.
03:29Please sit down.
03:30Thanks.
03:30A telex has been sent to all the various banks.
03:34That's how we'll obtain the information you've asked for.
03:37Mm-hmm.
03:38This Gabrielle Swanson has gotten herself into trouble.
03:41Excuse me, sir.
03:42We've received the telex.
03:43It's in reference to Gabrielle Swanson.
03:46Thank you, Marty.
03:47Can you tell?
03:48Is there an account for Gabrielle Swanson?
03:52Yes.
03:53A savings account.
03:54Ah.
03:55Well, it must be small.
03:57Well, I don't know about that.
03:58There's $200,000.
04:00$200,000?
04:02Uh-huh.
04:03There's a mistake.
04:03There's a mistake.
04:12There's a mistake.
04:14$200,000.
04:24Mama.
04:25Yes?
04:27I want you to forgive me.
04:32Oh, Gabrielle.
04:33Forget about it.
04:34It's over.
04:35It doesn't matter.
04:38How long have you been here?
04:42Hours.
04:43Days.
04:43For forever.
04:46It doesn't matter, sweetheart.
04:48Now is when time begins.
04:55Julia.
04:57Gabrielle.
04:58Ma'am.
04:59Could I see you for a moment?
05:01Yes.
05:01Please.
05:02Oh.
05:04Hi.
05:06Gabrielle.
05:06Gabrielle.
05:06Quiet.
05:07The worst is past.
05:09All past.
05:10Andrew.
05:12Uh.
05:13He was hurt, but he's getting better, too.
05:17Where?
05:18Uh.
05:19He's right in the room next door.
05:22Uh.
05:23Uh.
05:25Uh.
05:25Uh.
05:25And Tony?
05:28Does he know?
05:30Uh.
05:30Yes.
05:31Of course.
05:32And he's called us.
05:34Worrying.
05:36Julia.
05:38Last night.
05:41What happened last night?
05:45How much time's gone by?
05:48Two days.
05:51I dreamed that I had a baby.
05:57I had a child.
06:01I had a baby.
06:03Now.
06:04Now.
06:04Gabrielle.
06:06Julia.
06:09Julia.
06:11Tell me.
06:14Am I pregnant?
06:17Am I?
06:25I believed in you.
06:27And I'm sorry now.
06:29I believed in you with all my heart.
06:31And I think I still do.
06:34It's just that I'm confused.
06:36Because I do believe in you.
06:38Because if I didn't,
06:39my whole world would come apart
06:41and never be the same.
06:43And I couldn't bear the pain.
06:45No, I won't believe it's possible.
06:48What we shared together was very real
06:50and very special.
06:51Oh, did you find what you're looking for?
06:53Uh-huh.
06:54Yes, yes.
06:56Yes, thanks.
07:00The apartment was decorated by Mr. Clemente himself, right?
07:03Well, aren't you a personal friend of Mr. Clemente's?
07:06Yes, yes.
07:06Of course we are.
07:08But you know, even the closest friends
07:10don't know each other completely.
07:12I know.
07:12Mr. Clemente has owned this apartment
07:14for exactly two years.
07:15And I've met very few of his friends.
07:25David.
07:27Your doctor says you're beginning to get well.
07:33Oh.
07:36That's great.
07:39Well, you can understand what I'm saying.
07:43Yes.
07:44What I have to tell you, Gabrielle, is very serious.
07:49Miss Swanson, know that we have investigated
07:51your background quite thoroughly.
07:54And we've found the real you.
08:06I don't know.
08:10We were just there.
08:13There was Andrew.
08:16And I.
08:19We...
08:21We were there.
08:27And there were two men.
08:32And...
08:33They came in the room.
08:34And why were you there, Gabrielle?
08:40Are you David?
08:41You know very well who you're talking to.
08:46Why are you treating me this way?
08:49What happened?
08:50You are gonna have to answer that question for me, Gabrielle.
08:53I wanna know what happened to you.
08:57They came in.
09:00I don't know.
09:02But they hit me.
09:05I saw Andrew's head was blood.
09:10They hurt.
09:11Well, how did those men get there?
09:13And why would anyone wanna hurt you anyway?
09:15So much blood.
09:18The men came.
09:20There were two.
09:22There were two.
09:24What are you doing?
09:24That's my business.
09:26I'll have to ask you to leave.
09:27No.
09:29He's a friend of mine.
09:32He knows me.
09:35Keep still, Gabrielle.
09:38You're doing better, but you have to keep quiet.
09:41Now just lie still, Gabrielle.
09:43Let's go.
09:44Oh.
09:45Thank you, David.
09:48Thank you for coming to see me.
09:54Please.
10:03Were you interrogating that patient?
10:06It is my job, sir.
10:09Pardon me, officer, but I also have my job.
10:12In the hospital.
10:14I am responsible.
10:16I am responsible.
10:17Now what were you doing?
10:18It isn't important to you.
10:20It's my problem.
10:23It is important.
10:25Because I'm the one who's in charge of the patient's well-being.
10:28As I've just said, this hospital is in my care.
10:31And under no circumstances can I allow a convalescing patient to be questioned.
10:36Perhaps later.
10:37But now, no.
10:40David.
10:41Yes, hi.
10:43She's doing fine, Lucille.
10:46We had a few problems, but we managed to work them out.
10:49Problems?
10:50No, nothing important.
10:51I promise you, we'll do everything to get her well.
10:55Excuse me now, my dear.
10:56I have to take some x-rays.
10:59I'll leave you here.
11:02And I trust that we're clear now.
11:04Am I right?
11:09Oh, David, David.
11:11Lucille.
11:12I haven't thanked you for how kind you've been to us.
11:15No, no, no.
11:16I don't want your thanks.
11:17My sweet boy.
11:18You've been a blessing through this whole nightmare.
11:21My daughter owes you her life.
11:23No, no, really.
11:24She owes me absolutely nothing, Lucille.
11:26She owes you gratitude.
11:29And more.
11:30A lot.
11:35Uh, listen, Lucille.
11:38You sweet boy.
11:39Is your mother alive?
11:41Sure.
11:43Oh, and what's her name?
11:45Olivia.
11:48Olivia.
11:54That is a kiss beyond mother.
11:56And tell her.
11:58You'd tell her I said thank you for having as wonderful a son as you.
12:03And you'd tell her when this is all in the past, I'd like to talk with her.
12:08Hmm?
12:10I have to go to the house now because Gabrielle is close from home.
12:14And Julie and I.
12:17Well, we could use some texting, huh?
12:21Okay.
12:21David.
12:25God bless you.
12:27Amen.
12:28God bless you.
12:40She's gonna end up in jail.
12:47You have to forget about her.
12:51No, I have to help her.
12:53No, I have to help her.
12:57So I photocopied both of these charts.
13:00That's right.
13:01Mr. Herendon.
13:02Uh-huh.
13:02There's a call.
13:03Shall I transfer it?
13:04No, I'll take it right here.
13:07Excuse me.
13:09Have you heard from Mr. Clemente?
13:11Yes.
13:11He called from New York.
13:12But he didn't say when he was coming back.
13:15Do you know anything about this trip of the Clementes?
13:18Not really.
13:20It was strange.
13:21He had so much business pending.
13:24Don't know.
13:26Yes.
13:27This is Herendon.
13:30The woman broke loose.
13:31She what?
13:32She broke loose.
13:35I'll see you right away at the place we always meet.
13:40Is there anything wrong?
13:42Hm?
13:42No.
13:43No, it's just routine.
13:50It seems like a year since we've been in the house, doesn't it?
13:53Yes.
13:56But, Mom, don't you think we should tell Nelson everything that's happened to Gabrielle?
14:01Tell Nelson?
14:02No, no.
14:03He's too busy with his exams now.
14:06And he wouldn't understand any of this.
14:08I don't think we should worry him.
14:11Yeah, you're right.
14:17What are you looking for?
14:18Huh?
14:20Oh, a book for Gabrielle.
14:22Yeah, well, there's one on the table there.
14:25Ah, yeah.
14:26That's it.
14:32What kind of book is it?
14:34It's one of my required reading books.
14:37On reproduction.
14:41And why in the world is Gabrielle asking you if she can see a book on reproduction?
14:45I don't know.
14:45No reason.
14:51What are you looking for now?
14:53Tell me.
14:54I don't know what you think you're going to find in there.
15:00Come on.
15:01We need to get ready to go to the hospital.
15:05Um...
15:05Mother?
15:08I was thinking...
15:11Did Gabrielle ever work anywhere other than for Tony?
15:14You know, with the car wash or as a cheerleader?
15:17You don't remember her working anywhere else, do you?
15:20And where is that question coming from?
15:23Oh, uh, I don't know.
15:24Nowhere.
15:26No.
15:27As far as I know, she hasn't worked any other place.
15:30Hmm.
15:32And...
15:33Have you seen her with people who seem strange?
15:36Ah, of course I haven't seen Gabrielle with any strange person.
15:40But why are you asking?
15:41No reason. It's just...
15:43Sometimes I wonder if we know Gabrielle, that's all.
15:46But that's absurd.
15:47Of course I know Gabrielle like I know myself.
15:50Julia, tell me what's happening.
15:53It's nothing, Mother. Bye.
15:55Julia, the book.
15:56It's right on the nightstand.
15:58What do you young people are thinking about?
16:00It's beyond me.
16:01Oh.
16:12Martin! Martin!
16:14Oh, I'm in a rush to get to the office, Colette.
16:16I have to talk to you.
16:18All right, then talk to me.
16:20Martin, why did you ask me not to say anything to Tony about that girl who's so sick in the
16:25hospital?
16:27Well, I didn't think it was that important.
16:30It was just another story about one of the many girls who works for Tony's company.
16:34He has so many employees.
16:36Why should we bother him with one little story?
16:38Well, if you didn't think it was so important, then why did you make sure I didn't tell her?
16:42Oh, Colette, now you're starting to exaggerate it.
16:45You're trying to make a story where none existed.
16:49Listen, Colette, I don't think it was opportune for me to give Tony any bad news that had to do
16:53with his company right now.
16:54And it was so insignificant.
16:57You know me so well.
16:59And you know I want to do what's best for those two.
17:01And all I want, as much as Tony and Layla, is that things are running easily so they have some
17:07time.
17:08All I did was take care of some business for them.
17:11One second, Martin.
17:12I think it's about time you told me about this girl named Gabrielle.
17:17Hello there.
17:18Well, hello, Lucille.
17:20I brought some clean clothes for Gabrielle.
17:23Of course, first we have to take her to the floor where the nurse is all right.
17:28And what about you?
17:31You've got to get some sleep.
17:33You've done all that you can.
17:35Now go home.
17:37Thanks again.
17:37You're welcome.
17:38And I promise you I'll get some sleep.
17:39See you later.
17:40Julia.
17:40Julia, can you come here?
17:42Can you stay with me for a minute?
17:45Sure.
17:47Please, sit down.
17:54Julia, I know that Gabrielle's your sister.
17:58And I know that you care very much about her well-being.
18:02I already made a statement to the commander.
18:06I know.
18:06I know.
18:08Your sister may be in some very big trouble, Julia.
18:14Well, then let's speak frankly, Officer Randall.
18:18I know.
18:19All right.
18:19I'd like an explanation.
18:22Because I know, understand, that my sister hasn't done anything.
18:26And suddenly accusations are being made out of thin air.
18:30Someone's trying to make this something dirty.
18:32And if I stay quiet, it's for Mom.
18:35I know.
18:36Because she suffered more than anyone could ever know.
18:42But right now, you and I are alone.
18:46What can you tell me?
18:48The accusations against your sister are very serious.
18:51We found evidence that Gabrielle is involved in drug trafficking, Julia.
18:56She deceived us all.
18:58Even you, Julia.
18:59And even your mother.
19:00What?
19:01That's something you or your commander has probably decided...
19:05No, no, no, no.
19:05Julia, no.
19:06This is not something made up by us.
19:08I can show you the evidence that will prove to you this is true.
19:09No evidence can change what I know.
19:11What you say are lies.
19:13I know my sister.
19:14I've shared a house with her every day of my life.
19:18Julia, did you know your sister had a bank account overseas?
19:21Did you know about it?
19:22Huh?
19:25No, I had no idea.
19:28But so what?
19:30What's important about her having some kind of bank account?
19:33How much do you think your sister could have in this bank account of hers?
19:37My goodness, David.
19:39I mean, last week they turned off our telephone and we had to borrow.
19:43How much money, you want to know?
19:45How much money could be in her account?
19:47It couldn't be more than a hundred dollars.
19:49It couldn't be more than one hundred dollars.
19:53I'm telling you, Julia.
19:54There are two hundred thousand dollars, Julia.
19:56Two hundred thousand.
19:57Is this a joke?
19:59That's impossible.
20:00A joke?
20:01Do you need to see the evidence to believe what I've said?
20:04How about if I show you a copy of the account?
20:06Go on, read it.
20:08Go ahead, look.
20:21It's a lie.
20:22How is it a lie if it's here in writing?
20:24Is it a lie that your sister lived a double life?
20:27Is it a lie that she was a friend of, or better yet, a lover of Tony Clemente?
20:35Karen, thanks for meeting me here.
20:37I'm in a lot of trouble and I need you to help me.
20:40Well, you better tell me. Did he say no?
20:42No, it's not that, and it could be much more serious than it seems.
20:47I don't think that those men who broke in the other night were robbers.
20:50No?
20:50No.
20:51I think they came there looking for me.
20:53I'm almost positive.
20:55I think they were hired to hurt me, maybe even to kill me.
20:57But honey, why would they want to hurt you?
21:01Karen, I got mixed up with that pilot of Tony's, Andrew.
21:06Oh, it was wild.
21:09On the airplane, coming home from Santo Domingo, we were all alone on the jet the whole flight.
21:14Well, it was crazy.
21:19Revenge.
21:20Oh, Manda, where's your head?
21:21And the worst thing, I'm sure that Tony knows.
21:24I don't know how he found out, but he did.
21:27And I know Horrendan's involved.
21:29Oh, so you think when he asked you to go to the apartment to wait for Tony's call,
21:32he was really setting you up?
21:34Yeah, that's what I suspect.
21:37Karen, you have to come with me to the hospital.
21:39Andrew was hurt bad and I should go see him and try to find out who this girl was
21:43that went with him and got beaten up instead of me.
21:45Do you think this girl's involved in it?
21:47Not sure.
21:48Something's not right there.
21:50But that is why I need to go there and try to find out what's happening
21:54so I know the truth.
21:55Well, then let's go.
21:56Come on.
22:02And that's all I know.
22:05My sister spent exactly one night with Tony Clemente and that was because she was trying
22:09to get her job back.
22:12Her income was the only way I could go to school and not lose a year of my studies.
22:16I'm telling you that's the only reason Gabrielle went to work there.
22:20Okay, okay, but what happened that night?
22:22On that night she went out with Tony Clemente and maybe they got to know each other and fell in
22:27love.
22:28I don't know.
22:29Is that a crime?
22:34Julia, I can't talk to you about this yet.
22:38You'll hear all the evidence against your sister eventually.
22:41All the facts in the case.
22:43I have not been handling this case in the usual way.
22:47Gabrielle, your family is not my business.
22:50And I want you to understand that you can't protect your mom.
22:54You can try to keep it from her.
22:56But you'll find out.
23:00Gabrielle survived.
23:03And I swear to you that when I heard the news I was as happy as anyone could be.
23:09I don't know.
23:11I'm not sure what the right thing is for her.
23:16Gabrielle may be alive, Julia, but I'm afraid she's going to do some hard time.
23:20And I'm not talking about one year or two.
23:22Oh, no.
23:24The next few years of Gabrielle's life will be spent in jail.
23:35You and the commander don't scare me.
23:40You can't just drown a person that way.
23:43Gabrielle has drowned herself.
23:48Thanks a lot, Anne-Marie.
23:54I need to speak with you.
23:57Margaret, there's nothing to discuss.
23:58I don't ever want to hear you say my name again, as long as you live.
24:02Leave us alone, Anne-Marie.
24:09You are nothing like the person I once knew.
24:13And you're hardly the woman I woke up to.
24:16You don't have to worry about that anymore, because I don't plan on sharing your bed.
24:20No, you can get someone else.
24:22Maybe another client.
24:24They're all as filthy as you.
24:25A load of tramps.
24:27Maybe.
24:28You'd better think about what you're saying before you speak.
24:30I'm not afraid of your threats anymore.
24:32No, I'm not afraid of you.
24:34I'm sick of you.
24:35I find you completely repulsive, Ashford.
24:39I'm gonna divorce you, Margaret.
24:42And then you'll regret this.
24:44Because you'll be out on the street, looking for a job.
24:47I swear you'll have nothing left.
24:49And I will see to it that you'll never see those precious children that you love again.
24:54You will end up with nothing!
25:02Oh, sweetheart, I found out today who owns the apartment where I found you.
25:09That little cave belongs to your buddy Tony, doesn't it?
25:13I know the place is leased by Clemente.
25:17Come on and threaten me again.
25:19Remind me how you'll see me on the street, destitute.
25:21I trusted you and you betrayed me!
25:23How could you?
25:24How did it start?
25:27How does it go?
25:28You and your best friend in the world.
25:30Hey, Ashford, old boy, I know a way we can cheat on our wives, huh?
25:33And guess who your buddy's wife is?
25:36Need I remind you that my friend Leila is the wife of Tony Clemente, that pig?
25:40That pig you call your friend?
25:43I'm going to New York.
25:45It'll be a great trip, just Leila and me.
25:47I plan on telling her everything I know.
25:50I will break her heart with the truth.
25:52That we both have made terrible mistakes.
26:00Your mother's still in the dining room, David, but she should be up any minute, all right?
26:03Thank you, Doc.
26:05No problem.
26:06That poor lady.
26:09She had a real bad night.
26:11Yes, she's depressed.
26:13It's a part of the cycle we talked about.
26:16It may hold her for a while, but there's no need to worry.
26:19It'll turn around.
26:21Listen, I want to ask you a question.
26:23Sure, shoot.
26:24You've been my mother's psychiatrist for quite a long time now.
26:27What I mean to say is I'm sure you know things, things that I know nothing about.
26:32David, how can I help?
26:34You know, when I was little, I remember we lived in this house on the east side.
26:38I was five or six years old at the time.
26:41And my father left. He just abandoned us.
26:45And my mother wouldn't answer any questions or tell me anything about my father.
26:49She just never wanted to talk about it.
26:52I guess I knew him.
26:53But I hardly remember. I suppose I was too young.
26:59Joseph Leon Randall.
27:00And I'm not even sure if that's true.
27:05Sure, sure, sure. It has come up. She's mentioned it.
27:08But only how he abandoned her. That he left her. That he left her all along.
27:11Yeah, yeah. See, that's the part I know, doctor.
27:14But there's another name in here.
27:16Uh-huh.
27:17I think it's someone who has to do with me or my life somehow.
27:21I was here last night and I was talking to my mother.
27:25And I had mentioned another name.
27:27It was a name that had to do with the police work I'm doing, you see.
27:30In this certain investigation.
27:32Uh-huh.
27:34The man's name is Tony Clemente.
27:36Tony Clemente?
27:37That's right.
27:38And when I mentioned it...
27:39Wait a minute. You mean Tony Clemente, the millionaire?
27:42That's exactly the one.
27:45When I mentioned the name to mother, she got extremely nervous.
27:48As if she knew it.
27:52What do you make of this little incident?
27:54I get back to my house last night.
27:56And this friend of mine, you know, Panino.
27:58He asked me for a copy of the birth certificate I had left in the house.
28:03Hmm?
28:04And as I started looking forward, I came across all these papers.
28:08Cut out magazines and so forth.
28:10And you know what I found?
28:12Hmm?
28:13Article after article with the name Tony Clemente.
28:17I mean, what could that possibly mean, doctor?
28:31Mama.
28:32Mm-hmm.
28:33Only for one second.
28:35Because the doctor's looking at me like I should leave soon.
28:38Hmm.
28:39Hmm.
28:40I brought some of your clothes for when we get you out of this hospital gown.
28:43Oh, my sweet Gabrielle.
28:46How are you doing today?
28:48Better.
28:50I guess.
28:52I wanna dance.
28:53I must be better.
28:55Hmm.
28:56That's true.
29:04You put this on me, right?
29:07Mm-hmm.
29:08He's an associate of your mom's.
29:10Maybe so's the man up there.
29:13Was I operated on?
29:14Shh.
29:15Hey.
29:16Don't touch it.
29:17These are things that are already in the past, honey.
29:22Mother.
29:27Does Tony...
29:28Does Tony know about this?
29:31Oh, Gabrielle.
29:33Mother.
29:34I want him to know what happened.
29:37I want you to call him.
29:40Call him.
29:41Please.
29:43And tell him to come here.
29:47You just get wet.
29:50Be patient.
29:51Tell me we'll eventually hear.
29:54But an important man like him with money and power, well, God knows.
29:58He could be out of the country.
30:01Mom, I need him here.
30:04I need him here.
30:06All right, sweetie.
30:08Okay.
30:08I'll try now.
30:10Quiet down.
30:11Shh.
30:13Did you see David?
30:14Mm-hmm.
30:15I just saw him today.
30:17He really is a special boy.
30:21He told me something.
30:24He said I'm in a lot of trouble.
30:26It sounded bad.
30:28Oh, please.
30:30I'm sure it's nothing.
30:33You've been off your feet so long, things are a little out of proportion.
30:37Everything will be okay.
30:39He sounded like he hated me so cold.
30:45Ah, please.
30:48David is a friend.
30:51He really likes us.
30:53Mm-hmm.
30:54He does.
30:55Let's see.
30:57If you want my opinion, I'd say that young man is in love with you.
31:02Mm-hmm.
31:04So I followed up on everything you said.
31:07I went to the banks.
31:09Nothing?
31:11I have something to say.
31:13I'm sorry about the things I said to you regarding this case, sir.
31:17You were right, you know.
31:19There is an account for Gabrielle Swanson, and it has a balance of $200,000 in it, sir.
31:23Are you kidding? Let me see that.
31:25I couldn't believe my eyes, Commander.
31:26You never know, do you?
31:28That's what keeps it fun.
31:29$200,000.
31:31Oh, what a slippery little dollar.
31:34$200,000.
31:38Well, then.
31:40So begins the criminal trial of Gabrielle Swanson.
31:44Now we have the first solid proof.
31:46There's sure to be more.
31:49Here's some coffee.
31:50Thanks a lot.
31:51Yeah.
31:52I expect more dirt to be turning up real soon.
31:59I'll tell you.
32:03I feel sorry for her.
32:08Poor girl.
32:14Hello.
32:16I would like to see Andrew Payne.
32:18No visitors are allowed in the critical unit.
32:21Well, how about some information about him?
32:25Are you related?
32:26He's a friend.
32:28Well, his mother and sister are upstairs on the third floor.
32:32If you wanted to go up and visit with them for a minute, it would be alright.
32:36That'd be good.
32:37Right here?
32:38And to the right.
32:45Hi.
32:46I'm looking for Andrew's mother.
32:48I'm her.
32:51Please.
32:53Excuse me.
32:54Amanda.
32:55Amanda.
32:56Amanda Harelings.
32:57A friend of your son's.
32:59I've known Andrew for a while and...
33:02Well, I was hoping you'd tell me anything you can because I care.
33:06And I'll help in any way.
33:09Some delinquent hurt my boy.
33:12They hit him and...
33:14They hurt him bad.
33:16He has a brain hemorrhage.
33:18But how is that possible?
33:20It's a horrible tragedy.
33:22Well, I'd like to do...
33:24Something.
33:26I'd like to help.
33:27Whatever way's possible.
33:30Andrew never mentioned you.
33:32Amanda.
33:34Amanda.
33:36You know...
33:37I had some, uh...
33:40Some dealings with Clementi Enterprises.
33:44So I traveled quite often in the plane where Andrew and I spent some time together.
33:49And...
33:50Then there were other times.
33:52He'd bring me stuff in from Miami or New York, Puerto Rico.
34:00So...
34:03It's okay, Mom.
34:06I understand that...
34:09I...
34:09Andrew was not alone when he got into the accident?
34:12No.
34:13My daughter was there.
34:15How is she?
34:17She's recuperating me.
34:19It's a miracle.
34:20For a while there, they thought she wouldn't make it.
34:23Help me.
34:25She did.
34:26Oh, God.
34:30Um...
34:31You know, maybe I've met your daughter.
34:34I mean, through Andrew.
34:37My daughter's name is Gabrielle.
34:39Gabrielle.
34:41What does she look like?
34:43Well, I don't know.
34:45Let's see.
34:46Kind of the same color hair you have.
34:49And her figure is nice.
34:52You built kind of the same.
34:54You know what I do.
34:54Yeah.
34:56Maybe I have met her.
34:59Well, ma'am.
35:01I'll be back soon.
35:03I'm so very sorry this happened.
35:05I'll try to do whatever it is you need.
35:08Thank you. That's nice.
35:09Goodbye.
35:12I'm glad that your daughter is feeling better.
35:15We all thank you.
35:16I'll see you, lady, soon, then.
35:18Goodbye.
35:28Well, David, we proceed.
35:31As of this moment, Gabrielle Swanson is under arrest.
35:34Uh, I want to say, Commander...
35:36There won't be a problem.
35:37I understand.
35:39If you don't want to be in the middle of this, it's all right.
35:43And don't get into it.
35:44Commander, things are true or not.
35:47And I can't change what we know.
35:50So I will arrest the criminal.
35:54And you can believe that whatever happened with her,
35:59whatever emotion that I may have been feeling,
36:02It isn't important.
36:03It doesn't matter.
36:07That's very impressive.
36:09Some inspector.
36:12Tell Tarzan and Morehouse they got somewhere to go.
36:15The girl's in a bad way, Commander.
36:18I've seen her and I've spoken to her.
36:20She's quite ill.
36:21Yeah, I know.
36:23But she'll recover.
36:25I don't know how long it'll take.
36:27It could be a month or a year or more.
36:30But I can tell you where she's going when she gets out of the hospital.
36:34Prison.
36:36Ah.
36:38I have an assignment for you.
36:40You both are to head over to the hospital right away.
36:42You understand?
36:44You ought to stand guard at the room where they're treating Gabrielle Swanson.
36:47No one, absolutely no one, will enter without ID,
36:50with the exception of medical personnel.
36:54A friend, Miss Gabrielle Swanson, is hereby under arrest.
37:03All right, but only for a moment.
37:05Because the doctor has forbidden any visitors
37:07other than members of the immediate family.
37:10Excuse me.
37:11Sure.
37:30Do I know you?
37:33I didn't exactly meet you.
37:37But we were both there, at Tony's apartment.
37:40I locked you in.
37:41Sorry.
37:48Yeah.
37:51You mustn't doubt what I tell you.
37:55You're in danger.
37:57I'm not lying to you.
38:00You be careful.
38:02Be careful of Tony Clemente.
38:05What?
38:06What did you say?
38:08Layla, hi.
38:10You know, it's almost impossible to get a hold of you.
38:12No, no, everything at the house is just great.
38:15Uh, look, there is a reason I called you today.
38:18Something's been weighing very heavily on my conscience to tell the truth.
38:22Yes, because yesterday when I talked to Tony,
38:24I told him that one of his employees was very ill and has been in the hospital.
38:28See, the mother of the woman who was hurt called here on the telephone.
38:32Oh, it sounds like the woman was hurt quite bad, you know?
38:35And I told her I'd give the name to Tony the next time I talk to you.
38:38But Martin said I shouldn't pass on the girl's name, you know, because it was no big deal.
38:42But I promised this lady that I would.
38:45And I just can't sit here anymore and not say something.
38:47The woman's name is Gabrielle Swanson.
38:51Tell Tony that something's wrong, please remember, so this thing won't eat at me anymore.
38:57Have you eaten?
38:59No, I don't want to.
39:01How about something to drink?
39:03I don't want anything.
39:08Julia.
39:09Yeah?
39:10I saw you talking to the policeman.
39:14Um, yeah.
39:15Did they tell you?
39:18Do you know who did this to my brother?
39:21No.
39:22Nellie, they don't know.
39:24We didn't talk about that at all.
39:25So?
39:26What did they tell you?
39:28Um, nothing.
39:31Julia.
39:32Are you hiding something?
39:36Nellie.
39:37Talk to me.
39:38What's happened?
39:40Nellie, don't say anything.
39:43Don't even tell your mother or mine.
39:46Nellie.
39:48They're after Gabrielle.
39:50And I think they're after Andrew.
39:52Huh?
39:54Well, I don't know.
39:55But that commander just kept asking all kinds of questions about Gabrielle.
40:00And what she was doing visiting Andrew.
40:04But that's normal, Julia.
40:06No.
40:07Because he kept asking questions and getting more violent about it.
40:11Like, where does your sister keep her money?
40:13And who did she go there with, as if they had already found that she was guilty of something?
40:18Oh, that is so scary.
40:21God, what's happening?
40:24And what do they want with Gabrielle?
40:28What do they want?
40:31No.
40:32The two of them are guilty of nothing.
40:34So what if they accuse him?
40:37Sweetie, the police ask questions because that's why they're there.
40:41But honestly, what can their suspicions be?
40:44What are they investigating, hmm?
40:47Then there's really no reason to worry.
41:11People have been waiting for them to be late for that.
41:11But that's why they want to be waiting for the flu.
41:11Elsie, the verdict of the flu will be here for that.
41:11And that's why they can't be in the clinch.
41:11if you can find me or I can find them.
41:11I'm not sure they've been watching the flu.
