00:084g 5g and we are one of the fastest we have had one of the fastest 5g rollout with 5
00:18.2 lakh bts
00:22and almost 400 million customers today 40 crores and the estimates are by
00:292031 we will reach 1 billion people using 5g
00:36and you know this 5g has obviously enabled
00:43unprecedented opportunities for every person in this country
00:48and all of this just didn't happen by accident you know there are many countries but why only
00:54in india these things are happening especially over the last 12 years so it's these are all not
01:00accident but these are the result of prime minister modiji's ambition it's not just a luck it's a
01:09leadership that enabled it whether it is redefining the adjusted gross revenue of tsps removing spectrum
01:17usage charges rationalizing bank guarantees all of these collectively enable tsps to go and invest
01:25across vast network 5g network not only that you know from our own side working with other governments
01:34whether it is right of way permissions enabling efficient spectrum utilization surrendering
01:41and enhance the protection of these telecam towers creating digital power affinity wireless licensing
01:49reforms you know all of these thoughtfully have been thought through very quickly and even today
01:55whenever we meet modiji it's always about what else can we do to this country what reforms can we do
02:01how can we transform transform our telecom the entire network security everything whatsoever so in that
02:09process obviously 6g is coming if you know that we have a target of around 10 percent of patents want
02:17to be in the 6g system and many of you might ask you know why why those goals are like
02:25whether it is
02:253g 3g pp standards why we want to be the 10 percent because this being in standards is you know
02:32not just about
02:34national pride or paper statements it's more about economics economics gets decided you look back
02:43long back you know whether the south korea when they entered into these 3g
02:49these pay standards that's when the companies like samsung right lg have taken the entire system
02:57that's how they became the global leaders and it is the same story for us as well you know being
03:02in this 6g
03:05standards will fundamentally get you into the architecture of how these products are whether
03:10it is a mobile phone everything you know you will define the architecture and economics of the
03:15country and and large companies that's why we have a defined target of around 10 percent
03:23and obviously in our department you know sindhiya ji has been there as an investment banker worked
03:31around the world he understands how the companies operate and myself also came back you know being in
03:38the united states for 25 years building some of the best companies from from bootstrapping we understand how
03:45practically things work at the ground level so even you know every area we have taken how can we
03:53simplify and enable the environment for a private place whether it is a startup tsp's or ground level
04:00contractors in every manner you can think about it for example even in the 4g
04:07obviously tsp's will deploy their 4g 5g towers in wherever there is a techno commercial viability
04:13but in all the remote places right now almost 35 000 villages are being connected with 4g towers
04:20these are all farflung areas forest areas environmental issues there are environmental issues
04:26so we work with so many state governments
04:31contractors we take monthly reviews we enable every opportunity to get that connectivity into that
04:38village and if you look at bsnl provides large number of towers in rural villages you know we
04:44replaced almost 50 000 batteries power plants so that every tower actually works you know if you take
04:52in andhra pradesh we used to have an uptime of around 80 percent uh one year back today it is
04:59like 90 to 95
05:00percent uptime so these are all the things we're doing not just like ministers or anybody this
05:07culture of working culture of practicality culture of understanding ground reality
05:12is what is happening at the ministry you know i want you to all appreciate and know how you know
05:18from
05:18the bsnl cmd ministers and everybody are working and not only that you take the barathnet we high speed
05:26internet for every village we have finished most tenders there and even there you know working with
05:33the bsnl authorities locally and how we can take that network existing network and really make sure
05:41that 17 us billion dollars that we are planning to spend on barathnet to connect almost two lakhs 60
05:47thousand gram panchayats a huge success you know because once you get this high speed connectivity
05:53every area that's when you know all your towers will get fiberized whether we call 5g 6c will work
05:58even better so this is the kind of work culture and strategic shift we're bringing that uh mentality of
06:07how private organizations work to the uh work in the setting of uh government as well so and we're
06:14seeing significant changes and even the quality of service whether you you know call drops everything
06:19is being monitored or being adjusted in real time security aspects whether you take sanchar sati
06:26financial fraud risk indicator there is a huge data analytics team digital intelligence platform
06:32that is working closely within the government uh to drive uh safety and security as well and you look
06:39at ttdf right especially for any type of cutting edge technology that people are who are interested
06:47earlier we didn't have this kind of startup technology but now with the ttdf we have almost 500 crores there
06:56we have given money to 130 startups but even if you can get 20 30 really good companies out of
07:02that
07:03i think it's it's uh highly valuable and good for the country and for manufacturing equipment manufacturers
07:12the certification deadlines have been you know reduced and if we don't give certification by certain
07:18time they're deemed uh given in certain period of time and whether you look at ai summit or imc the
07:26reason
07:26we do all of that is to build a momentum in the country so that people understand that there is
07:32a
07:33strong leadership what we want to you know take india forward so these are all the things i hope you
07:39understand how the govern government is working and for everybody who is sitting here you know you look
07:46at 12 years ago right 12 years ago india was merely a market we were never a maker but now
07:52we are a maker
07:53and today 12 years ago we did not have this indigenous equipment whether it is 4g bsnl
07:5812 years ago we didn't have these these many deep tech startups and 12 years ago we didn't have this
08:055g
08:06so this is the story i mean this is not just about um either one government person or one individual
08:14this is the story of engineers that that who believed that india could build world class technology
08:20this is a story of startups this is a story of policy makers and this is a story of our
08:25entire nation
08:27deciding that we would no longer sit at the table as a guest and we want to be the leader
08:32and going forward we will continue to work on this and i want to promise every startup every incumbent and
08:39every research we are with you we are there to support to enable you and at the same time you
08:47know
08:47we request we need you we need your ambition we need your speed and we need your refusal to settle
08:53so
08:53that we can build at least you know two or three companies that are if not better than lg samsung
