00:01Ladies and gentlemen of the press, let me start by two clear messages.
00:06First, to the United States and to Israel.
00:10It's high time to end this war that is risking to get completely out of control,
00:18causing immense suffering on civilians,
00:21and with the propagation around the global economy that is really dramatic,
00:32with potential tragic consequences.
00:37Especially for the least developed countries.
00:42Second message to Iran.
00:46Stop attacking your neighbours.
00:51They were never parties to the conflict.
00:55The Security Council has condemned these attacks,
00:58has ordered them to stop,
01:01as it has ordered to open the Strait of Hormuz.
01:05The prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz
01:08causes enormous pain in so many peoples around the world
01:13that have nothing to do with this conflict.
01:18It's time for the force of the law to prevail over the law of the force.
01:26It's time for diplomacy to prevail over war.
01:31I want, naturally, to say that I'm extremely grateful for this invitation.
01:38The European Union and the United Nations have an exemplary cooperation.
01:43And the European Union has been a fundamental support for the UN and for multilateralism.
01:51And I hope, I'm sure, the European Union will be absolutely central in the efforts to create an international order
02:02based on the rule of law,
02:04an international order in which we will have more justice,
02:10in which we will have more climate action,
02:14in which we will have more control of the evolution of technologies
02:19and in which international law will prevail.
