00:00I previously expressed my extreme disappointment
00:07with the incidences that took place at the final match.
00:12The important thing of what happened on that final match
00:15is it undermines the good work that CAF has done over many, many years
00:20to ensure that there's integrity, that there's respect,
00:24that there's ethics, that there's governance,
00:26as well as credibility of the results of our football matches.
00:30Not a single country in Africa will be treated in a manner
00:36that is more preferential or more advantageous
00:39or more favourable than any other country on the African continent.
00:44We have very high standards that we set for ourselves.
00:46It is important for us that ordinary football supporters and spectators
00:51in every one of the 54 countries in Africa,
00:55in their judgment, not in CAF's judgment, not in my judgment,
00:59regard the decisions of our judicial bodies as fair,
01:03with integrity and impartiality.
01:05And what is equally important, that they regard our referees,
01:10our VAR operators, and our match commissioners
01:13as people who are fair and just.
01:17And those decisions that are taken
01:18reflects the impartiality and independence
01:22as critically important.
