00:32Luego concedemos a set play.
00:48para llevar esa gran performance a través.
02:12Nisha Joshi.
02:14Hi, Eddie.
02:34Sí, no tengo problemas picking myself up.
03:12Leigh Ryder.
03:14¿Hoy, Eddie?
03:15¿Did they disrupt what you were trying to do
03:17o was it just a case of you couldn't live with that devastating start
03:21after the break,
03:22especially with Rafinha playing the way he did?
03:27Yeah, I think our performance dropped.
03:29I think that was quite clear.
03:31You can't concede.
03:32The first four goals,
03:34you can't concede.
03:35The two set plays are sort of unforgivable to a degree
03:38because you know how good they are in other aspects of their play.
03:41So, to concede from two sort of regulation,
03:45one free kick, one corner,
03:47that can't happen if you're going to progress.
03:49And as I said, I think psychologically
03:51we never recovered from the moment at half-time
03:53for whatever reason that was.
03:54Whether we felt that we should have had a penalty
03:55the other end, I don't know.
03:58But there was certainly a dip in our performance.
04:01Craig Hope.
04:03I already have touched on this quite a bit
04:04in terms of that third goal being the killer goal.
04:07Really, what was your take on it?
04:09Was it a penalty?
04:10Was it not?
04:10How did that passage come about
04:12just when you should be really seen out the half
04:14in a strong position?
04:16Yeah, the timing of the goal again, Craig,
04:17it's such a difficult one for us all to take
04:22because we're bang on half-time.
04:23As you say, we should be going in at 2-2 with a great feeling
04:25that we're very much in the tie.
04:27And anything is possible could happen from that moment.
04:30As it is, we're going in in a sort of a negative feeling.
04:33Well, I don't think we defended the build-up anywhere near well enough.
04:37In terms of the outcome, is it a clear and obvious error?
04:44I think it had similar feelings to the one at the other end.
04:46Maybe it was a bit of a stronger call than our penalty.
04:49But I think it's tough on us for one not to be reversed
04:52and that one to be.
04:53Thank you.
04:54Dominic Skir, please.
04:55Hi, Eddie.
04:56Sandro Tonali forced off early in the second half.
04:58Just what was the issue there?
04:59And is he potentially now a doubt for Sunday's game?
05:02Yeah, I'd say he's a doubt.
05:03He looks like he's got a groin sort of hip problem.
05:06I thought he performed really well in the first half
05:09and we really missed him in that second period.
05:12I don't know.
05:13Possibly.
05:15Yes, please.
05:23I wanted to say that Newcastle has been a hard competitor,
05:26a hard rival, one of the best-shaped teams in Premier League.
05:31Do you believe that your team has demonstrated to be ready
05:34to hold 90 minutes for an intense game for 90 minutes
05:38but not that exchange of goals with so many chances created by Barca?
05:43Thank you.
05:45Mine didn't.
05:47Tell me what you said.
05:56Can you just repeat the second part of the question, please?
06:01Sure.
06:04Do you believe that your team has demonstrated to be ready to play an intense, hard game for 90 minutes,
06:10but it was impossible to withstand that exchange of goals and chances that Barcelona had?
06:17Yeah, I think it was difficult when the scoreline got away from us and the tie was effectively over.
06:24The players gave so much to that opening, sort of 55, 60 minutes,
06:30that I think that was the toughest period we had in the game.
06:32The last sort of that middle period between 60 minutes and 80 minutes was really difficult for us.
06:40I have to compliment their technical delivery, their midfield players I thought were excellent today
06:44and of course their attackers, when given chances, were ruthless as well.
06:48So I thought we gave them a really good game for the whole 90 minutes at St James' Park
06:54and then for a half today.
06:57OK, we'll take two more, please. Martin Hardy and Scott Wilson if you wait for the microphone.
07:08Hi Eddie, what are your emotions right now and how great is the desire to get back into the Champions
07:14League?
07:15Yeah, of course, I think this is where we want to be as much as today is a harsh scoreline
07:21on us and a painful experience.
07:24To see the players play in the way that we did in the first half and execute 90% of
07:30what we wanted,
07:31it was a great feeling and a great sight and I don't think that should all be forgotten with the
07:36scoreline.
07:38As difficult as that is for everyone to see, certainly in the first 45 minutes that's not reflective of how
07:43the game was.
07:44Thank you. Scott Wilson, to finish please.
07:48You touched on Sunday there, Eddie. It always felt like it was going to be a big game.
07:53It probably has just got that little bit bigger now.
07:56How big is the desire from you and the players to respond to this
08:02but also respond to what happened at Sunderland in the first half of the season?
08:05Yeah, it's huge. I think it's difficult for me to sort of talk about it.
08:12I think we've just got to play and we've got to play like our lives depend on it.
08:16It's such a big game for the city, for our supporters, for everyone connected with the club.
08:19We know that. We knew that before the first game. We know it even more now.
08:23So we need to deal with this very quickly and then look to Sunday.
08:28Thank you everyone. Thank you.
08:29Thank you.
08:29Thank you.
08:29Thank you.
