00:18Thank you for accommodating us to promote our initiatives.

00:22Commodore Casas,

00:24Napakadami po ng inyong programa ngayong taon at nandyan na nga yung ating Veteride at Veteran.

00:31Ano po ba ang mga programang ito at ano po ba yung naging layunin natin sa paggawa nito nga mga

00:39events na ito?

00:40Unang-una, Meg, ito ay napapaloob sa aming HEROES Program.

00:45Ito yung Helping Every Retiree Obtain Enhanced Services.

00:50Ito yung continuing initiatives ng Armed Forces of the Philippines Pension and Graduate Management Center

00:57upang masuportahan at lalo natin makilala yung mga nagservisyo sa ating bayan.

01:02At hindi natatapos sa pagre-retire nila.

01:06Because sa ngayon ay kinakailangan natin kilalanin yung mga kabayanihan na ginawa nila sa ating bayan.

01:14Kaya tayo merong kapayapaan, kasaminlan. Because someone stood the watch before us.

01:20And this is our time now to honor them, their sacrifices.

01:23Mga maganda po yan.

01:25Pero curious ako, Commodore Cassis, paano po naging bahagi ang sports sa initiative na ito?

01:32At bakit nyo po napili ang motorcycle or yung riding at quadrun para maging plataporma nyo po para sa mga

01:40advokasiyang ito?

01:41Well, alam naman natin sa mga panahon ngayon, yung lalo nung pandemic, umusbong yung riding community.

01:50At ito, itong initiative na ito, unang-unang ako ay big biker. This is my passion to ride.

01:58So, nung ako'y naging hepe, sabi ko, I will use this platform to promote our veterans.

02:03Kaya itong veteran ride, 2026, this coming 31 May, dito lang po yan sa Metro Manila, is riding for our

02:13veterans.

02:14Dahil napakarami na po ng ating mga riding community.

02:17Number one, we promote a safe riding.

02:20But more than that, this is to honor, to give awareness to our people na napakahalaga na nagampanan ng ating

02:28mga veterans sa ating bayan.

02:30And this will be on 31 May. Dito lamang po, mag-upisa po yan sa Camp Aguinaldo, sa NCR Command.

02:39And then, we will have, it's a very short ride, lalo-lalo ngayon may mga, may crisis sa fuel.

02:43So, inikliad po natin, pero hindi, dahil may crisis ay hahadlangan lang ang ating advokasiyang para maparangalan ang ating mga

02:51nagsilbi sa bayan.

02:53So, from Camp Aguinaldo, kami po ay tutungo sa libingan ng mga bayani.

02:57We will have a ceremonial wreath laying just to honor and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to

03:05our nation.

03:06And then, after the wreath laying, we will proceed back to Camp Aguinaldo sa Lapu-Lapu Grandstand to have our

03:12formal program.

03:14And this is one of the highlights of this program is to honor yung mga living heroes natin, yung mga

03:21veterans natin, na hindi natin kailanman kakalimutan yung kanilang servisyo sa bayan.

03:27Pangalawa na, this vete ride is a patriotism in action.

03:37Kailangan, here at PGMC, we just don't talk. We also walk the talk.

03:45So, kailangan makita nila na merong solid na makikita.

03:53Because, for one, this is also a small fundraising dahil ito ay makakatulong sa ating mga veterans.

04:02Last time, we provided mga wheelchair, hearing aids, groceries.

04:08Matamba po, na ma-recognize lang sila. Manaking bagay na sa ating mga veterans yan.

04:13Gusto ko po yung sinabi nyo na patriotism in action.

04:17How important is it for us to recognize nga itong mga nagawa ng ating mga militar, both dun po sa

04:25living and the dead?

04:26You know, personally, I believe that a great and a grateful nation honors their heroes.

04:35Hindi po tayo darating sa ating kalagayan ngayon kung wala pong if no one defended and served our nation.

04:43That's why we have to always remember the sacrifices. Hindi dapat mawawala yan.

04:50Ang ganda po noon, Commander Cassis.

04:54It's such an honor to be part of this military and this initiative.

04:58Ngayon naman po, pag-usapan naman po natin itong veteran.

05:02Ano naman po ang veteran? I know that this is already the second edition of this event.

05:07Pero ano po ba ito para sa ating manonood na hindi po familiar?

05:13Ito naman veteran, this is our second. As we promised last September, last year, we had our first ever veteran.

05:23Yung rin po ay sa Campa Ginaldo. And we honored our living heroes.

05:30Tinarang na lang po namin sa ala. And then, ito po ay welcome para sa lahat, hindi lang para sa

05:37mga veterano.

05:38But this time, since after a very successful veteran in 2026, nag-request sila, baga naman pwede sa Davao.

05:47And looking at, gumawa kami ng market research, nakita namin that we have around 6,000 veterans residing in Davao.

05:55Plus, why Davao? Because this is the most, this is, I believe, the strongest riding community in Mindanao.

06:04So, it's a very good signal that from Luzon to Mindanao, pinaparangalan natin yung ating mga nagservisyo sa bayan.

06:12And then, for one, naalala ko lang, in March of 2022, na-declare po ang Davao na insurgency free.

06:21Hindi mangyayari yun kung hindi dahil sa mga veteran na nagservisyo para maging insurgency free.

06:29So, this is our way of thanking them as well.

06:32So, Davao, looking forward to July 25, that's a Saturday, yun ang second veteran. Takbo para sa pensionado.

06:40Para po talagang iikutan nyo yung ating bansa.

06:45So, una po sa Metro-Banila, ngayon po sa Davao, recognizing na,

06:50kumbaga, na-neutralize na natin yung mga insurgents sa mga lugar na ito.

06:54Pero, ilan pong mga partisipante po ang inaasahan nating lalahok sa veteran?

06:59Sa veteran, dun sa veterine muna, mga 300 to 500, kasi maliit lang yung Camp Aguinaldo.

07:05Pero, itong veteran, ito may gaganapin sa Davao City sa Freedom Park.

07:11We're hoping na mga around 1,000.

07:15The more we can reach out, the more awareness na hindi dapat natin makakalimutan ng ating mga veterans.

07:22Sa inyong pananaw puno, paano po nakakatulong itong veteran at veterine sa aspeto po

07:29ng welfare, recognition, at community engagement ng ating mga retired militaries and veterans?

07:36Alam niyo po, ang mga nagservisyo sa atin, dapat hindi natin makakalimutan.

07:43Because the wealth of experience and wisdom they gained throughout the years na nasa servisyo po niya,

07:49ang tingin po namin dyan sa AFP-PGMC, national treasure yan,

07:54na hindi dapat natin isinasantabi.

07:56In fact, dapat lalo natin ipaalam sa ating bayan na napakahalaga ng kanilang ginagampanan.

08:02You know, sa mga schooling ngayon, sila yung kinukuha ang mga lecturers, mga speakers,

08:08dahil hindi natin matatawaran yung kanilang servisyo sa ating bayan.

08:13Paano naman po pinapalakas ng veteran at veterine yung public awareness po

08:19tungkol sa mga welfare programs ng AFP-Retirees?

08:23You know, napakahalaga nito dahil, as I, galing na nasabi ko kanina,

08:28napakalaki ng reach ng mga riders natin, napakalaki rin ng reach ng mga running enthusiasts natin.

08:36So, the more we have these initiatives para sa ating mga veterans,

08:42lalong nalalaman ng mga, this is riding for a cause and running for a cause.

08:47Lalong nakikita nila na dapat pala talaga maparangalan natin.

08:52You know, ang kahalagaan kasi nito, this is very, very dear to me,

08:58is that, you know, sa U.S., sa mga first world countries, they honor their heroes.

09:04Through different initiatives, meron nga po silang mga discounts sa mga veterans nila.

09:09Sinasabihan sila, thank you for your service.

09:11Yung po yung gustong-gusto kong mangyari dito sa ating bayan.

09:14Dahil, pag nangyari po yun, ibig sabihin, kumaangat na talaga ng tuluyan ng ating bayan.

09:21Commodore, since nabanggit niya po yan, lalo na sa mga first world countries,

09:27ano po ba yung nakikita niya na dapat pa na ibigay ng ating pamahalaan sa ating mga retired militar?

09:37Salamat, no. Ako po ay pinalat ng mga pag-aaral sa Estados Unidos.

09:41Ako po ay graduate ng United States Coast Guard Academy.

09:44From 88 to 92, ako po ay nakapag-aaral doon.

09:46At doon ko po nakikita na kung paano nila tratuhin ang kanilang mga uniformed service and their veterans.

09:52In fact, yung mga veterans nila doon, pinapauna sa mga pila, binibigyan ng mga discount, may mga discount card.

10:02Alam ko, I believe may 10% discount yung mga veterans.

10:06Because that's how valuable the services of their veterans.

10:10Yun rin ang gusto ko sana mangyari dito.

10:12Kaya we have a lot of partnerships with government and non-government agencies.

10:19Nag-i-snowball na po ito. Marami na po tayong partners na kumikilala.

10:23In fact, just to give you one highlight, yung to-go, yung to-go ng barkong,

10:30ako po ay nakipag-usap sa kanilang presidente, si Mr. Frederick Dubuncio.

10:35Sabi ko, nakakalimutan natin na parangalan yung ating mga nagsirvisyo sa bayan.

10:39Alam mo, kagihintay lang sila na mag-request.

10:43Meron na po, nagpirmahan na po kami in December 10, last year.

10:46Nagpirmahan na po kami, it's a very symbolic,

10:49because doon po namin ginawa ito sa to-go mismo sa barko nila.

10:53They are giving discounts to our veterans.

10:56Kasi ganyan, ang binibigan lang nilang discount.

10:59Previously, our uniform service.

11:01And then, 60 pag nag-senior citizen.

11:05Pero, ngayon, pati na yung mga veterans natin na nagsirvisyo ng 20 years,

11:10by law, you are considered a veteran, hanggang 59.

11:13So, kinumpute namin yung mga 27,000.

11:17They are very willing.

11:18And that marami ng mga resorts, mga companies,

11:23who are extending services.

11:25So, ito yung natutuwa ako dahil nagiging aware.

11:29And then, because of this veteran and veteranite,

11:32lalong maraming magiging aware sa mga initiatives namin dito sa Heroes Program.

11:36Magandang balita po yan, no?

11:38Parang, lalo na dun po sa nabanggit nyo,

11:41na marami po mga pribadong sektor

11:44na nag-aantay lang pong tapikin sila

11:46at ang handang-handa naman po silang tungulong.

11:49Bukod po dyan, meron pa po ba kayong ibang partnership

11:53na nakikita po para sa pagpapaganda pa po

11:56ng ating programa para sa ating mga retired military personnel?

12:00Meron po.

12:01Yung lately ngayon, inaayong malapit na po kami magpirmahan

12:04na nag-extend rin po yung Center for Culinary Arts.

12:07Okay.

12:08Binibigyan na nila ng discount.

12:10Hindi lang po yung mga sundalo, mga veterans,

12:15even the extensive, doon sa mga beneficiaries and dependents.

12:19So, kasi hindi natin alam,

12:20may mga sundalo dyan na mahilig pala maglutok.

12:24E malay, pag-retire nila, even those in the retired,

12:27mag-stand up ng mga restaurants, maging business nila.

12:30So, maganda yung meron formal education.

12:33And then, they extended their support,

12:36giving discounts to mga courses nila.

12:38Alam nyo naman po kung gano'ng kagaling.

12:39Kaganda ang CCA.

12:42And then, marami pa mga schools,

12:44extending discounts to our beneficiaries,

12:47yung mga yumaong, mga anak ng mga yumaong heroes,

12:52even dependents of active pensioners natin.

12:55Ako po, napakadabi pong programa

12:58at very bright po yung magiging future

13:02ng mga events ninyo.

13:04Pero sa tingin nyo po,

13:06paano po nakaka-apekto sa moral

13:08ng ating mga retired military

13:11itong mga ganitong programa,

13:13tulad na lamang ng veteran at veteran,

13:16at yung iba pa pong mga nakalatag na programa

13:18ng inyong ahensya?

13:20Alam mo Meg,

13:22ako po ay umiikot.

13:23We conduct caravans every so often.

13:51a way of thanking my dad

13:52who's also already in heaven.

13:54But when veterans come together as a group,

13:58when I do my talks,

14:00alam nyo na, iiyak sila.

14:02Naluluha sila na hindi pala nasayang

14:04yung kanilang servisyo.

14:06And, you know,

14:07not only for the veterans.

14:09This is not only for the veterans, Meg.

14:10This is also for the younger generation.

14:13Pag nakita nila na maganda pala

14:15mag-servisyo sa armed forces,

14:17abay, sasabihin nila,

14:18I will serve our country to the armed forces.

14:21Napakaganda nito.

14:22Sa tingin nyo po, mas lalong

14:24maka-enggan nyo sa mga kabataan

14:28na sumali po at mag-servisyo sa ating bayan

14:32dahil po sa mga programang nakikita nila,

14:34kumbaga hindi lang from start

14:36na pagpasok nila sa military,

14:38but even to the point where

14:39for when they retire.

14:42Kaya nga po ang advokasiyan namin,

14:44ang motto namin sa PGMC

14:47ay service beyond retirement.

14:50We continue to give the services

14:53of the armed forces

14:54even after they retire.

14:56Dahil naginiwala po kami,

14:58retirement does not end their service.

17:28this should go hand in hand.

17:33there are three things

17:34you need to invest

17:35para ma-enjoy nyo

17:36yung inyong retirement.

17:39hard-earned pension mo yan eh.

17:40How do you enjoy?

17:41Number one,

17:42you invest in your faith.

17:43You have to be accountable

17:44to your creator.

17:47Number two,

17:48you have to invest in your health.

17:50Eh kasi kung,

17:52nag-i-invest ka sa,

17:53ikasasama ng katawan mo,

17:54eh yung pension na pinaghirapan mo,

17:56ibibigay mo sa ospital,

17:57sa doktor,

17:58sa maintenance.

18:00Pangalawa,

18:01pangatlo pala,

18:02you invest in your family.

18:04You know,

18:04that's why I bring my family.

18:06I have a very small family.

18:07I have a beautiful wife

18:09and I have a daughter,

18:1216,

18:13and a son, 14.

18:14I take them in my rounds.

18:17Why?

18:17I tell our active personnel,

18:19you invest in your families.

18:21Para pag-retire ninyo,

18:22you have a family to return to

18:24at may enjoy mo yung retirement

18:26with your family.

18:27So,

18:28this is the encouragement I give

18:30to our active personnel.
