00:03I believe that digital security is important for all the Europe now because of the rising levels of digital repressions
00:10and we have a lot of civil society organizations, activists, journalists working on amazing jobs on the field who are
00:19also being targeted by spywares, by online harassment but also some other repression methods.
00:30such as a slap lawsuit and they need to learn how to protect themselves in order to protect their sources,
00:37their beneficiaries as well as their colleagues, friends and personal family.
00:43We have spyware cases related to Paragon in Italy but also to Pegasus in Serbia, in Spain, we had Predator
00:55in Greece and also state-developed spyware called Novi Spy in Serbia that were targeting activists, students who were leading
01:03the protests, journalists but also farmers.
01:07So the repression doesn't really choose who to target since they believe everyone can be a potential target.
01:16I once saw the line that I really like that said targets are not important, they are inconvenient.
01:22So we all think that we are not important enough to be targeted but our work may be inconvenient enough
01:29for someone to target us.
