00:07It started as an April Fool.
00:09You dreamed it, we built it.
00:11I'm very proud to present to you the BMW M3 Touring 24 Hour.
00:21The car is based on the chassis of the BMW M3 Touring production car.
00:26We have a lot of takeover parts from the M4 TT3.
00:28For example, the whole powertrain, the systems, the kinematics as well as the overall wheelbase.
00:34But because of the shape of the Touring, especially in regards to aerodynamics,
00:38we had to modify a lot of parts.
00:40The main aerodynamic modifications start here at the driver door, which is a little bit shorter.
00:45We also have a rear door due to the unique shape of the Touring,
00:48which we cannot open anymore here on our race car.
00:50Let's have a look inside.
00:52The cockpit is one-to-one takeover from our M4 TT3.
00:56Due to the unique Touring shape and also the combination of the B-pillar,
01:00we have a slightly modified seat position.
01:02And talking about the seat, at any given time we could also implement a passenger seat, by the way.
01:07But the main difference is on the rear axle of the car.
01:10The wing profile is a carryover part from the M4 TT3,
01:13but we had to extend it by 200mm as well as to raise it by 32mm
01:18to increase the overall aerodynamic performance.
01:20A race car belongs on a race track.
01:23And therefore we are very proud to be competing at this year's 24-hour race at Nürburgring.
01:27Our first race will be the second round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie
01:31to start our preparation for the big race coming up soon.
