Tensions are rising as Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seeks urgent talks with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to acquire Ukraine’s battle-tested anti-drone technology designed to intercept Iranian Shahed attack drones. Ukraine’s low-cost FPV interceptor drones and electronic jamming tactics have successfully destroyed thousands of Iranian-designed drones during Russia’s war, drawing growing interest from Israel as drone threats expand across the Middle East.

The development comes as Ukraine offers its anti-drone expertise to allies, already deploying specialists to protect U.S. bases in Jordan and assisting Gulf states against drone attacks. Iran has reacted angrily, warning Ukraine it could become a “legitimate target” if it supports Israel in countering Iranian drones, raising fears that the Ukraine-Iran confrontation could spill into the wider Middle East conflict.

00:21Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made an urgent request to Ukraine's
00:27President Volodymyr Zelensky for something unexpected. Not missiles, not fighter jets,
00:33but Ukraine's battle-tested anti-drone technology. And the reason is simple. The same
00:38Iranian-designed Shahed attack drones that have terrorized Ukrainian cities for years
00:43are now becoming a major threat in the Middle East conflict. Here's why Israel is interested.
00:49For nearly three years, Ukraine has been under relentless attacks from Shahed one-way attack
00:55drones used by Russia. These drones are cheap, numerous, and designed to overwhelm air defenses.
01:01But instead of relying only on expensive missile systems, Ukraine developed innovative counter-drone
01:07solutions. Now, amid the escalating conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran since late
01:13February 2026, Zelensky has begun offering this expertise to allies. Ukraine has already sent
01:20anti-drone experts and interceptor systems to protect U.S. bases in Jordan and several Gulf
01:25countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. In fact, reports say more than 10 countries have
01:32requested Ukraine's help. Israel is now the latest country looking to learn from Ukraine's battlefield
01:37experience, and this represents a significant shift. Back in 2022, Israel avoided deep military
01:43cooperation with Ukraine, fearing that advanced technologies might eventually leak to Iran or Russia.
01:49But today, the growing threat from Iranian drones appears to be changing that calculation.
01:54However, this move has triggered strong reactions from Iran. Iranian officials are accusing Ukraine of
02:00directly joining the conflict. One senior Iranian parliament figure even warned that by supporting Israel,
02:06Ukraine could become a legitimate target under international war rules.
02:09Iran's envoy to Ukraine dismissed Kyiv's assistance as a joke, but at the same time accused Zelensky of
02:16entering direct confrontation with Iran. State-linked media and Revolutionary Guard voices have echoed
02:21the warning, suggesting that Ukraine is opening a new front against Tehran. For Ukraine, the message is
02:27different. Kyiv says it is simply helping the countries that support its own fight against Russia, while
02:32stressing that it will send technology and experts, not troops. But the bigger picture is clear. Ukraine's war-hardened
02:38drone defenses, once designed purely for survival against Russia, are now becoming a valuable global military export.
