00:02अभराब।
00:03लॉसी, I stood here and spoke of a world in flux and flex mode.
00:09Tonight, it just feels like flux and flex, hyperscale
00:15and we have a world order in free fall and global trade in chokehole!
00:21We watch almost hypnotize as war strategy is decided on the fly.
00:27everything we thought was sacrosanct is suddenly negotiable
00:32borders, decorum, safety, ethics, rule of war
00:38the currency of goodness, the semblance of peace and prosperity
00:44theocracies and monarchies were always shrouded in a veil of absolute power
00:50what's under siege now is this century's most revered political system
00:57democracy itself, its institutions unable to contain the big personalities of their leaders
01:06the checks and balances within which democratic leadership operated have been breached
01:12we have now what I'm calling personocracies
01:17democracies that revolve around a personality
01:20it seems democracies can also legitimize absolute power
01:25some may even say that's the need of the hour
01:29on the eve of this war, Saturday 28th February
01:33we had just returned from Tehran
01:36we had gone to do an exclusive interview of Iran's foreign minister Abbas Arachi
01:42who is today a household name
01:45after his interview with us in a mesmerizing hall of mirrors
01:49he left for the peace talks to Geneva
01:52our flight was a day later so we wandered the streets of Tehran
01:56a window into Iran has been restricted and we were very curious
02:00a dusty city moving to the holy rhythm of Ramzan
02:04unaware of the epic fury that was about to be unleashed
02:09Tehran is not a pretty or historic city like a postcard demands
02:15its people are the real attraction
02:17warm and poetic
02:19answering our questions in verse and anecdotes
02:23maybe you think I'm taking sides
02:26and yes I am
02:28the side of all of us
02:31the side of humanity
02:33of all people
02:34the side of our brilliance
02:37the side of little laughter that lights up the room
02:40the side of clear blue skies
02:42the side of houses that become homes
02:45the side of love that binds families
02:48the side of flowers that bloom
02:50the side of prayers that are answered
02:53the side of that
02:54of those that hope when all else fail
02:57the side of invisible strings
03:00that bind us together
03:01or should bind us together
03:04there are so many truths and sides to this world
03:08and we tried to bring you multiple perspectives
03:12over the last two days
03:14you have heard from 10 foreign envoys
03:18so that you can have an informed point of view
03:22in fact that is always our effort
03:24with the conclave and our newsroom
03:26and everyone doesn't always agree with our guest list
03:30we invited Yasin Malik
03:32and an ideological section had an issue
03:35we invited Salman Rushdie
03:37and the Congress had an issue
03:38we invited Dalai Lama
03:40and the Chinese had an issue
03:42this year too
03:43some sections have questioned
03:45our speaker choices
03:46we believe
03:47that democracies and newsrooms
03:49are strengthened
03:50not by silencing
03:52but by challenging controversial figures
03:55and putting their views up
03:57for scrutiny
04:04we don't shy away from difficult conversations
04:07we believe engagement
04:09not exclusion
04:10is the way to resolution
04:12and maybe
04:13if more of us thought
04:14thought so
04:15we could have avoided
04:16this war
04:17so many countries
04:19are now scarred by this war
04:21thrust upon them
04:23just see the dead toe
04:24everyone counting their own
04:27yet this war
04:29doesn't care for nationalities
04:31it reduces all
04:32yours
04:33and theirs
04:34to rubber
04:36PM Modi has often spoken
04:38of one earth
04:38one family
04:40one future
04:41others
04:42need to pay heed
04:43over the last
04:45fortnight
04:45our fragile planet
04:47has been pounded
04:49with three times
04:50the explosive yield
04:52of the atomic bombs
04:53of World War II
04:55just think about that
04:56Yuval Noah Harari
04:59modern day historian
05:00has warned
05:01could it even be
05:02that we are already
05:04in the midst
05:05of World War III
05:06and we just
05:08haven't realized it yet
05:09if you ask people
05:11let's say
05:12in May 1941
05:13they would not tell you
05:15that they are living
05:16in the midst
05:17of the second world war
05:19only with hindsight
05:20we understand it
05:22in hindsight
05:24this war against Iran
05:26could be seen
05:27as one that protected
05:28all of humanity
05:30from bad actors
05:31oppression
05:32and nuclear Armageddon
05:34or
05:34it could just be
05:36World War III
05:37I want to end
05:38with the words
05:39of celebrated poet
05:40Mahamud Darwish
05:42the wars will end
05:44and the leaders
05:45will shake hands
05:46and that old woman
05:48will remain waiting
05:50for her martyred son
05:51and that girl
05:52will wait
05:53for her beloved husband
05:55and the children
05:56will wait
05:57for their heroic father
05:58I do not know
06:00whom sold the homeland
06:01but I know
06:03who paid
06:04the price
06:06it's a reflective note
06:08to wrap
06:09Conclave 2026
06:14but in the end
06:16we celebrate
06:17what we have
06:18this moment
06:19and this moment
06:21is alive
06:22because of us
06:24and we must
06:25honor it
06:26by living it
06:27in full
06:28today
06:29we are immersed
06:30between the joy
06:31of being
06:31T20 champions
06:32and the magic
