00:15Scheffler's hometown is Dallas, Texas, where he played both golf and basketball at Highland
00:20Park High School. He stayed in the state of Texas for his college career, attending the
00:25University of Texas in Austin. During his time at college, he helped the golf team win
00:29three Big 12 championships, and he was also named Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year
00:34in 2015. He graduated from college three years later in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in finance.
00:41After being named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2020, his first win on tour didn't come
00:47until 2022. This first win was in February of that year, winning the Waste Management Phoenix
00:53Open. He'd then go on to win his second event just three weeks later at the Arnold Palmer
00:57Invitational and he'd win his third tour event in March 2022 at the WGC Match Play in Austin.
01:05After this third win within nine weeks on tour, Scheffler became the number one men's golfer
01:10in the world rankings. In doing this, he broke the record for the quickest period of time
01:15between a first tour win and ascending the world rankings. His record of just 42 days between
01:21these two achievements will take some serious beating. Scotty Scheffler won the 2022 Masters,
01:28his first ever major. With this win, he became the fifth golfer to enter the Masters as number one
01:34in the world rankings and win. The other four golfers to do this were Tiger Woods, Ian Woosnam,
01:40Dustin Johnson and Fred Couples. Scotty Scheffler is married to Meredith Scudder. The two had been dating
01:46for six years before they tied the knot in 2020. They met whilst at high school in Dallas, but they
01:52went to separate colleges in Texas. While Scotty was at UT, Meredith was at Texas A&M. But the pair
01:59continued to date while they were at college and married after they had both graduated. One of his
02:04favourite TV shows is the US version of the sitcom The Office. He said he watched a lot of the
