00:06So, my first question is, what was the most challenging part in doing it in Factoria for you?
00:14Well, the biggest challenge of any movie is always time and money, and I think that with it also comes
00:20a lot of possibilities.
00:21Whenever you have the constraints of time, we always find a way to collaborate and find what's the best approach.
00:27And yeah, I think that sometimes that kind of pressure really helps create diamonds, and we created something really special
00:36here.
00:38What about you?
00:39For me personally, it was more of like, I danced a little bit when I was growing up, but not
00:47a lot.
00:48And this movie, I had like two weeks of training in the beginning with Jeffrey Mortensen and Tessa Tamera.
00:56But I am so lucky that they worked so hard and were so patient with me.
01:01I was so nervous, and that by far was the hardest part for me.
01:05But I loved it, and it was also my favorite.
01:07So I am grateful for it, but that was a new experience for me.
01:11And she killed it.
01:13She did.
01:14She did.
01:14She did.
01:15I think for me, the most challenging part was kind of an obvious answer and a bit of a cop
01:23-out at the same time, but I'm still going to say it.
01:24It was my first film, so the most challenging part was probably just going into something not having done it
01:32before.
01:34But I quickly just got comfortable because it was so easy to on this set, and they helped me through
01:43every step.
01:43They were so gracious and patient.
01:46But yeah, I just tried to be a sponge because obviously having it been my first time, I was more
01:52honestly just in awe of seeing how a movie is made.
01:56I think that is something as a huge fan of film and just a consumer myself, seeing how the sausage
02:03is made.
02:05It almost ruined movies for me, but it also made me appreciate all kinds of film.
02:13It truly, any movie that gets made is like a miracle because it takes so many working pieces, and I'm
02:20just honored to be a part of one.
02:23There's a movie that you grew up with and in a way it guarded you for the film.
02:33Can you repeat the question one more time? I'm sorry.
02:36Yeah, that's a movie that you grew up with and you are very fan of and in a way it
02:41guides you.
02:44So, I grew up watching like on repeat another Cinderella story with Selena Gomez and Drew, no his name is
02:55Drew.
02:55Something, something, something. That movie, I watched all the time.
03:00And it reminded me a lot of Bad Boy and Me because of the dancing aspect and also because it
03:07was like a rom-com and a coven of age.
03:10I don't know. Is it? Is it?
03:12I think so. I think so.
03:13Do you have songs that you want to say in your mind?
03:17Well, people started comparing this movie to that.
03:20And for me, it was a big inspiration, so that was pretty surreal.
03:24Yeah.
03:26I think for me, the movie that actually I grew up with that inspired me, completely different genres actually, but
03:34has a lot of very similar themes is Gattaca.
03:37Gattaca is a sci-fi movie, but it really talks about resilience, about how this hero, this individual was told
03:47no his entire life because of society.
03:50And to me, it's a very big parallel to not only my journey as a director, wanting to achieve the
03:57dream of making a movie and here we are today presenting it.
04:00So that's, I know that those struggles and the character struggles that we face.
04:05We have characters that deal with expectations, characters that deal with their challenges of, you know, breaking the mold, being
04:14themselves and finding what they really want in life.
04:17And so that movie for me, at least resonated and helped inspire a lot of the choices, even though the
04:25genre is completely different.
04:30I was going to say like a Disney animated movie or something just like, but I want to do something
04:39that, yeah, that is adjacent to the film.
04:42And I think a movie that kind of stands out to me, one that I watched beforehand was, I mean,
04:50two technically, just one to study and to kind of take some references, one was Friday Night Lights for the
04:58football aspect.
04:59And it's just a great movie.
05:00And then I rewatched Varsity Blues to study up on who was playing my dad, which is James Van Der
05:07Beek and also another incredible movie, but then also taking some of the football and then tying it in with
05:15just like the classic kind of like 2000s rom-coms.
05:22I think I watched, I don't think I could pinpoint one specific one. I think I watched like all of
05:28them in preparation for this just to kind of, yeah.
05:33And it was just like, and like when your homework is like watching movies, like you're doing something right. So
05:37I like, I enjoyed watching them all, but I also tried to take things from each one. So that was
05:43helpful. Yeah.
05:45And you studied James Van Der Beek too.
05:47Of course. Yeah. How could you not? Yeah. Yeah.
05:55For you and for Sienna, with the success of the movie, a sequel already coming, do you fear that you
06:05were to be stuck in these roles or not in that scarcity?
06:13Um, I'll go first. Yeah. Uh, no, I'm not like, I'm not scared of, and to be honest, I would
06:24be on, I would be happy to continue to do more of these roles. Like I, and I think if
06:32my career so, so far, not even just in acting, but in the social media space, like I don't really
06:38believe in getting pigeonholed.
06:39I don't think like, if you're, if you respect what it is that you're doing and you put in the
06:46work and you're undeniably good at something and yeah, just going into it with that, like respect of I'm going
06:53to work hard and I'm not just going to like, I'm not going to be pretentious about it and like
07:00have these entitled things of, oh, I have this.
07:03So I'm, I'm do this or I'm owed that. And I don't know. That's, that's me with acting. Like I
07:10want to do all these other different genres, but at the same time, like I'm very well aware of like
07:17my demographic and knowing that these type of films are kind of what's working at the moment for me.
07:24And I think there will always be an appetite for rom-coms and thank God I love doing them because
07:30I will continue to do as many as the people will let me. So over to you.
07:38I, I honestly didn't ever really expect that I would be in a rom-com. It's just not the way
07:44I see myself, but it's cool that I can be, but I think I'm like, no, I feel like I'm
07:54just kind of flowing.
07:55Like I am happy to, I love this job, this job in particular, but also just acting in general. Like
08:01you learn so much from every project. And I think between the first and even the sequel, I feel like,
08:07I feel like a completely new person, at least for me.
08:11And so I know that handling new roles, I'll approach it in a different way. So I don't really pigeonhole
08:17myself. And I think that that's kind of helped me as I don't, I don't see myself as like a
08:25rom-com actor, but like, I'm happy to be a part of however many this one goes, you know, go
08:31with the flow.
08:32My last question, what do you think about all the stories that come from Workpad and have a lot of
08:40success, a new platform for both actors and directors?
08:47Sure.
08:48Well, I think it's actually an incredible opportunity because, you know, I'm always a big believer of creating opportunities for
08:56others. Obviously, this is a really good example.
09:17I think it's a really good example.
