Finch Farm, Liverpool, UK

00:00Mikel is obviously an individual you know very well both from when he played with you here at
00:04Everton and years gone by and now he's progressed to being a successful manager. What's impressed
00:08you most about the way he's adapted, evolved into that role with us?
00:13Well, I think all managers change. I remember the early days I'd be jumping about the touchline
00:18and looking and doing all sorts. Mind you, I still am now at times, but I have to say,
00:23you know, you saw Mikel over a few years, he's got dark arts like we all had to have
00:29at different times, because you're desperate for your team to win, you have to find ways of
00:34winning, that's part of the job. I say it all the time, you can play as good as you like,
00:38but
00:38winning is the thing which really matters. But I think Mikel looks as if he's maturing a lot into
00:44the role, you know, steadying down, or it looks like it, but with age everything you mature a little bit
00:51as you get a bit older.
