00:05Il miglior film della DreamWorks di sempre! Il Robot Selvaggio è il miglior film ad animazione dell'anno!
00:13First of all, congratulations! I love the film, I love Rossi, I love your work!
00:18Thank you!
00:19So, what made you say, I want to play Ross, I want to be the sculptor?
00:25Well, they approached me with the offer to play Ross, and I read Peter Brown's book first.
00:31I loved the source material, I found it to be very classic, it's timeless, and the themes are always relevant.
00:39And so, that was my first attraction to it.
00:42And then, Chris Saunders is a prolific animation director, and when I met him, I liked what he was about.
00:50I liked how open he was, and ready to collaborate.
00:54And he felt like someone who would continuously investigate his own story and make it better.
01:01And I wanted to go on that journey with him.
01:03And, yeah, Ross is a cool character, and I was interested in the challenge of playing her.
01:12As you said, this story is classical, and it will remain for generations with you again.
01:21Do you feel more responsibility, or are you grateful for that one?
01:27Do I feel more responsibility?
01:30Yeah, more responsible or grateful for this opportunity.
01:33I feel very grateful.
01:36You know, and I think about other animations that have meant a lot to me.
01:39Like, Lion King was a pivotal animation for me.
01:44It really, I saw myself in it.
01:46It's set in Africa, they speak Swahili, you know, and I just, I loved that.
01:52I felt very seen by it, and the performances in that are so beautiful.
01:55It stayed with me over the years.
01:57I quote Lion King to this day.
01:59And to think that Wild Robot could be that for a new generation,
02:04it's powerful to be able to put such positive influences into children's lives.
02:20Well, okay, so when I first got this role, I asked Chris, why me?
02:26And he said that he liked the warmth of my voice, and how much he felt it could convey
02:32for Ross.
02:33So we knew that Ross would end up sounding like me, but how does she sound when she first
02:41arrives on the island?
02:42I looked at the voices, or I listened to the voices of Alexa and Siri and other automated
02:49voices on TikTok and Instagram.
02:52And what I found in all of them was this kind of relentless positivity.
02:58So I was inspired by that to find her programmed optimism.
03:04And then as she adapts to the island and gets influenced by the animals she's with,
03:09she develops more sophisticated emotional intelligence, if you will.
03:14She's still very, very literal, but she has the power of adaptation that works to her advantage.
03:21You were talking about animation, that is an important film as for you.
03:26Do you have a favorite animation, which are your classics?
03:32Well, definitely The Lion King was a big one for me growing up.
03:39I really loved Cinderella.
03:42I found it quite melancholic.
03:47And what else?
03:49I loved Peanuts, you know, the Charlie Brown's Christmas.
03:52Those were some meaningful ones in my childhood.
03:57Thank you.
03:59Thank you.
04:02The best film of the DreamWorks of always.
04:06The savage robot is the best animation film of the year.
04:12I'm a savage robot.
