00:05If somebody's trying to make you do something that you don't
00:07believe in, then
00:09you have to stand up to them and say,
00:11no, I'm not going to do it, you know, I'm not going to give in to your
00:14intimidation and bullying.
00:16I have a responsibility
00:17to encourage my friend Charlie,
00:19to question things.
00:21He's grown up in a very hostile environment,
00:23all the images that are forced on kids
00:26from advertising, it's all bombarding
00:28him, telling him the way the world should be.
00:31We believe that we have a very good story
00:33to tell. We have over a million customers
00:36a day in the UK who
00:37enjoy coming to McDonald's and trust
00:39us.
00:42This is about the
00:43public's right to know what the
00:45most powerful organisations in the world,
00:48which are multinational corporations,
00:49are really doing.
00:51Very serious allegations were made
00:53about our company.
01:00I love the way you turn it, it's great.
01:03I knew that
01:04Helen suspected that there were
01:06some kind of infiltrators in the group
01:08and I said, don't be stupid, that's just something
01:10which, you know, you read about in books.
01:14You're doing a cross-examination today, aren't you?
01:17What am I doing?
01:18Who's starting?
01:20We're just treated like, you know,
01:22what are these people doing in my courtroom?
01:24McDonald's cannot and do not object to
01:26fair and reasonable and honest criticism
01:29of their business or their products.
01:32For McDonald's to call its food nutritious is a lie.
01:36It's clear the science is really on David and Helen's side.
01:39It's not on the McDonald's side.
01:41Here they were suing us to try and prevent us
01:44saying that diet was linked to heart disease and cancer
01:47and, you know, their own expert was saying
01:50it's a very reasonable thing to say.
01:51It has been linked to it.
01:55Who is the guy in the Third Reich who was the propaganda minister?
01:59You know, that's what I was, you know?
02:01Ronald McDonald.
02:08We pride ourselves on the fact that we've all got free speech.
02:12But in reality, of course, that simply isn't the situation.
02:17What they've actually done is to hold McDonald's accountable to society
02:22on behalf of society.
02:23I think they're heroes of our time.
02:27We're exhausted and stressed. We face bankruptcy.
02:31But that's so trivial compared to the need to stand up to
02:35the people that are dominating our planet.
02:44Hold your back up.
02:52Because it hasn't happened,
02:52I believe that this could have been so good.
02:52well, guys, I'm going to rather consider the remedy.
02:52Grazie.
