00:01Welcome and Happy Midsommar!
00:04Skål!
00:05Midsommar is something of a companion to Hereditary
00:09in that both films are very much about family.
00:13I invited my friends because this is a once in a lifetime thing
00:16and I wanted to share it.
00:17But it's also an adult fairy tale.
00:20I wrote Midsommar as sort of a surrealist breakup movie.
00:25You've been wanting out of this stupid relationship for like a year now.
00:28There was something kind of interesting and spooky
00:31about the fact that there was so much detail in his script.
00:34It's like another world.
00:36I was excited about building a world that felt very healthy and lush
00:39and then by the end it becomes kind of overripe.
00:43Tomorrow's a big day.
00:44Is it scary?
00:46He's a really visual storyteller.
00:48He makes the camera a character.
00:51And you have a relationship with the camera all the time.
00:54That's how Ari works.
00:56It's been really exciting collaboration.
01:00It's been really, really fun.
01:02You can be familiar with the camera.
01:03I was like, should I do?
01:05I love this.
01:05And I'm like, why don't you do that?
01:05I love this.
01:05It's a really complicated story.
01:06You're like, shaking this up.
01:06Grazie a tutti.
