00:07Finally, speaking about what she really went through and how she is doing now, Jennifer
00:11spoke honestly about that period in a recent interview with Good Morning America.
00:16Lopez shared that she chose to step away from work and public life for nearly a year after
00:22their separation was finalized in January 2025.
00:26For Jennifer, the end of the marriage meant taking time to reflect, I had to stop everything.
00:32I took a year off, I cancelled tours and I just decided to just be home and sit with what
00:37had happened without running away from it.
00:39No work, no new relationships, just time to sit with it, she said during the interview.
00:45During that time, she said her children became the center of her life and staying home with
00:50them helped her keep perspective during a time of personal change.
00:55Reflecting on this new phase of life, she said, I'm in my happy era.
00:59It really feels good.
01:01But she further added, I didn't really know what that felt like since I was in my early
01:0620s and even before that, I always had a boyfriend.
01:09There was always someone in my life.
01:11And so many other things that I felt were out of my control.
01:16Sharing about if she's back at dating, Jennifer jokingly added, God forbid, I don't want
01:21to ruin anything.
01:22It's so nice right now, I'm so happy.
01:24And that was a scary thing for me when I was younger.
01:27I was always afraid to be alone.
01:30Reflecting on who she's today, I'm a mom of graduates this year heading to college.
01:35I'm a showgirl, an entertainer, an actor, and an entrepreneur.
01:39I'm happy, healthy, and grateful.
01:41That's who I am today.
01:42And I'm surrounded by love, which is the best part, she said.
01:46Now back at performing, she says, she feels stronger and more independent.
01:51She has returned to the stage with a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace and continues
01:56to focus on her career and family.
