00:02For the finale of the sequence, we've got to throw this Corvette off of the edge of the canyon.
00:09We used basically an air cannon and launched the Corvette into the water down below.
00:15We did it in two passes, one where the stunt guys jumped into the water from the same platform.
00:21Ok, here we go.
00:23Set, set, three, two, one, go!
00:37And then we launched the Corvette as a separate pass for safety.
00:44And then marry the two in post.
00:55Once Vin and Paul come up from the water, that's them.
00:58We photographed both of those guys at the actual Cory location.
01:03For their coverage of their close-ups while they're falling through space, we are using green screen.
01:09We've put the Corvette onto a motion base and robotically controlled its motion to simulate what the falling car does
01:16when it's traveling through the air.
01:18So whatever they did, you know, on the training sequence, we need to then insert Vin and Paul and our
01:24other actors.
01:25Three, two, one, action!
01:28To be able to do that, effects built a gimbal, we had our train mocked up, we had all the
01:32same elements, just now it's stationary.
01:36We could then control the environment, concentrate on story and the actor moments without having to worry about them in
01:43danger.
01:44I've had friends come out and visit, and I'm like, are you kidding me? This is what you do for
01:47a living?
01:47I'm like, yeah, would you think of me any other way?
01:50You know, this franchise especially, you get to play every day.
01:55And ten years later, I'm still doing stuff that I hadn't touched before, I hadn't seen before. It's unbelievable.
