00:03Spera di sensazione di un giorno di circa 20 anni
00:03Welcome to the National Lunali di Sopro, the Lebanese Rocket Society
00:08Did the Lebanese dream one day of conquering space?
00:12Impossible to believe.
00:13And yet at the very beginning of the 60s,
00:15while NASA and the United States were readying to send Apollo,
00:19Manu Manu Giong and the students of the modest Hagazian College
00:22launched rockets into the Lebanese sky.
00:25This is the very beginning.
00:26We'll start from scratch with tiny little rockets.
00:30It was an enormous accomplishment.
00:36The space project turned into a national patriotic adventure.
00:40I looked at my students and said, now we can look at larger rockets.
00:44The boys and their rockets were a good story.
00:47And at that point we decided to call it the Lebanese Rocket Society.
00:56How is it possible that we've never heard about it?
00:58I was very leery of the rocket project.
01:03Our rocket had a very long range, which I assumed concerned countries surrounding Lebanon.
01:10Israelis were looking at it and the Syrians were looking at it, everybody's looking at it.
01:14And I thought, this is something that has to stop.
01:19The world, then, was a world of possibilities to dream and believe it.
01:24When you see the eyes of these boys, how they are proud of their work, you can't forget them.
01:42The world, then, is it possible that you do live with people who want to learn the sky?
01:44You can't particularly see them.
01:46If you see them watched a very long time, you can see them even if they want to see them.
01:46I believe that they have to have a nice, you have to have to go.
01:47Just a minute.
01:47Grazie.
