00:00Between City and Real Madrid, you're seeing some live shots there of the burnabout as the team are arriving.
00:06City go into this next chapter as favourites, I can't quite believe I'm saying that, favourites to make the quarter
00:12-finals.
00:13With all of course the current issues and the uncertainty at Madrid.
00:17But, we can never discount the 15 times Champions League winners.
00:24And there they are.
00:25I love that they make the away team walk past them, just as a reminder.
00:31But of course, we're coming into this off the back of a great 3-1 win over Newcastle at the
00:36weekend.
00:36Some standout performances there, of course, particularly from Savino.
00:40Will he start tonight?
00:41I am going to tell you in just a few seconds.
00:45You can see the team arriving.
00:46There's Kolo Toure, I love Kolo Toure.
00:49And will Anton Semenyo get his first Champions League appearance tonight?
00:56Because, yes, when me and you did the show together, I was so impressed with both of them.
01:00I think there have been tremendous signings.
01:02And I think Mark Gee, I think he's added that little bit of steel to our defence.
01:06But Semenyo, I think his goals are speaking for himself.
01:08And I think it takes the pressure off Haaland, having him in the team.
01:11But not a bad place to make a Champions League debut, is it, at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid.
01:17But they both deserve it.
01:18They're fantastic players.
01:19And they're both in form and deserve the starting places for City tonight.
01:23I wonder what they're thinking right now as they walk out onto that pitch.
01:26And obviously, huge congratulations to both of them.
01:28But the Anton Semenyo story is, just for me, Paul, is a fairy tale.
01:31So he becomes only the second ever player to have played in the non-league, in all the divisions in
01:38the EFL, the Premier League, and in the Champions League.
01:41It's a fantastic story.
01:42The thing that impresses me the most about him is his mentality, how he's just took everything in his stride
01:46since he's been here.
01:48You know, I remember one of his coaches coming out when he was at Bristol City a few years ago
01:51saying that they never, ever thought he'd be able to make that next step.
01:54And I think he said himself he was thinking about quitting, so to come back the way he has come
01:59and come into a new club.
02:00I mean, both of them, it seems as if they've been here for about three or four seasons, the way
02:03they've settled in.
02:04And, God, what a Champions League debut in the Bernabeu and the knockout stages as well.
02:10They must be pinching themselves.
02:11But I think the big thing is the mentality of them both.
02:13They seem very, very level-headed and they'll be absolutely buzzing the rest of that.
02:17Do you know who the first player to do that was, by the way?
02:20I feel like your quiz knowledge might be...
02:22Jamie Vardy?
02:23No, but that's a great shout.
02:25No, no.
02:28Steve Fiddon.
02:29I had to look down at my notes.
02:31Oh, wow.
02:31Steve Fiddon.
02:32Yes.
02:32Yeah.
02:33And Santon Semenu is number two.
02:35Well, congratulations.
02:36Very congratulations.
02:37There's Nico O'Reilly, of course, with a goal in the Bernabeu last time he played as well.
02:41But I want to talk now about Savino because, obviously, he had that phenomenal game against Newcastle at the weekend.
02:47You know, he ran the show.
02:49He was man of the match.
02:50From that opportunity that he got in the FA Cup, he now starts in the Champions League, Steph.
02:55Yeah, I mean, I think in them first 20 minutes, I thought Newcastle were the better team.
03:00But I think we kept on giving them the ball, which is so important as a winger and as a
03:04forward player.
03:04You want that trust.
