00:00There's a few food creatures that we created that only have very, very small roles in the movie,
00:06but are still in there, and you have to look carefully to find them.
00:08There's the meatballrus, which is the meatballs with the Italian bread tusks and bowtie pasta feet.
00:15There's the apple pythons, which are apple slices with bodies that are made out of red licorice,
00:22and they have tails that are rattles that are mint containers.
00:25There's a taco dial.
00:28There's mosquito-st.
00:30Darn mosquito-sts!
00:32There's a tomato.
00:34There's everything you can imagine.
00:36There's like a peanut butter jellyfish.
00:39What else?
00:40Oh, this one's a little weird.
00:42There's a shrimp panzee, which is maybe the only one that's also an animal.
00:47So it was a shrimp, and now it's a panzee, so it's a shrimp panzee, which is a little confusing.
00:53I think that's going to be a hit with the kids and shrimp lovers.
00:57There is, oh, the cheese spiders, which are like cheeseburgers, but with French fry legs and sesame seed eyes.
01:08And those are pretty freaky.
01:10I would like to eat the legs off a cheese spider.
01:16Barry's kind of the head of the foodimals in this movie.
01:19He's kind of the face of the foodimals.
01:32Barry is one of the hardest creatures that we had to design and build because the range of movement and
01:37trying to make him cute with the seeds,
01:39because in CG, everything is relative, so as you move around shapes, everything else moves with it.
01:44And so the drawings that Craig Kelman did early on, the seeds were part of the kind of pattern of
01:49him.
01:50And so we needed to be able to manipulate him and kind of have him hit expressions without kind of
01:53changing what the model looked like.
01:55So that was a real challenge.

01:59Step away from the berry, madam.
02:01When they got it right, there was just like this sense that, wow, that character is going to shoot off
02:06the screen.
02:08That airy lady scared the jam out of him.
02:11He was just so cute.
02:13If you look at the neutral position for Barry.
02:14He's super creepy.
02:15He's an ugly looking dude.
02:16It's like the eyes are kind of out here and then the animators almost do this cross-eyed thing.
02:21And there's something about it that makes him really cute.
02:24It's been really fun how they've made food into sort of these living creatures with personalities.
02:34They brought so much joy and so much comedy itself to every environment because there's always like a new one
02:40popping up.
02:41Working on this film made you pretty hungry.
