00:12The 43-year-old appeared before Liverpool Magistrates Court,
00:15accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged attack at Hewton and Prescott Golf Club.
00:23Barton is jointly charged alongside Gary O'Grady, who's 50.
00:26Emergency services were called to the golf club on Sunday evening following reports that a man had been assaulted.
00:33The alleged victim, former non-league football manager Kevin Lynch, is currently being treated in hospital.
00:40Prosecutors told the court that his injuries could potentially result in the loss of sight in one eye.
00:46During the hearing, Barton was denied bail and remanded in custody by District Judge James Hatton.
00:52Both defendants strongly deny the allegation they plead during the short hearing.
00:58Barton, originally from Hewton, but now living in witness, appeared in court wearing a blue jumper in glasses
