01:01that there is a supernatural paranormal presence in her home
01:09and the possibility that her son is alive
01:11but somewhere that she cannot see
01:13it's Will he's trying to talk to me
01:16somewhere that she cannot get to
01:18Will are you here?
01:19everyone thinks she's out of her mind
01:22but she's actually kind of onto something
01:28Winona is a character whose stakes and circumstances are inherently heightened the entire season
01:37the thing about Winona is she's just completely fearless
01:40like she jumps in all the way a hundred percent
01:42and that's what you need for the Joyce character
01:44you need someone who can ratchet up the emotional urgency
01:47and yet find layers and nuance and different sides of this character
01:50so it was a real short list
01:52and at the very top was Winona Ryder
01:54I need you to believe me
01:57I was grateful that they trusted that I could get to those places
02:02she's on her own for so much of the show
02:05and she's kind of losing her grip on what is real
02:08and what isn't real
02:09Winona goes there
02:10he was talking with these

02:16she's dynamite
02:17she's like a live wire
02:19I mean she's someone who brings it like every take

02:23this is one of you know the great film stars
02:26in her first television series
02:28and Winona was just really excited about this role
02:32it felt really juicy to her
02:33and she's having a ball with it
02:34it was a genre that I hadn't explored before
02:37I don't care if anyone believes me
02:40I am not gonna stop looking for him
02:42until I find him and bring him home
02:44I liked that there was sort of different storylines
02:47you really don't know what is around the corner
02:51or what is going to happen
02:52it's like putting pieces of a puzzle together
02:55and it's fun to watch
