00:27Saw Gerrera is maybe the original Rebel.
00:30He is the first one in a long line of people that got trained by Jedi to fight for themselves
00:36to save their planets during the Clone Wars.
00:39He's the beginning of what would eventually become the Rebel Alliance.
00:45One of the points of the story group is to make everything feel connected and legitimate.
00:49We wanted to create a connection between Rebels and Rogue One that was on the heels of the
00:54movie coming out, and it just ended up making a lot of sense that Saw would be kind of our
00:58connective tissue.
01:00Because Rebels is in the timeline is before Rogue One, there's so much time there that
01:05you don't get to know.
01:06We could kind of build up, and since I did Saw when he was young, I could help create that
01:10time period in between.
01:13There's the myth and there's the man, and sometimes his methods are extreme.
01:16He, he's just someone that doesn't believe in playing nice all the time.
01:23He believes that time for negotiating is gone, the Empire's ready to wipe them all out, and
01:28that they're developing the means to do so.
01:31He doesn't have a name for it, but he is talking about the Death Star.
01:46One of the things that happens sometimes is we get some of the actors from the films to come in
01:51and
01:51portray their characters, and Forrest Whitaker came in and played Saw Gerrera on Star Wars
01:58in a way that he is both a bit mad, a bit crazed, a bit afraid, but also a bit
02:09sympathetic.
02:10He sees something coming, and no one will listen to him to take action before it's too late.
