00:01Hey, I'm Michael Bay and I am a strong believer in protecting the cinema experience.
00:06This is my edit room here in my house in Miami.
00:08I love cutting here because it's quiet.
00:10This whole system pipes to Santa Monica where I have five editors.
00:14Yo!
00:14Yo!
00:16Bye!
00:17Anyway, those are my editors.
00:18I can connect to a different room.
00:20They can see what I do on my system here and we can share screens.
00:23It's a great way to work.
00:24A movie like Transformers needs to be seen using the very finest tools,
00:28the best sound technology, the best projection technology and cameras.
00:32I'm here to keep 3D alive and the only way to make it the best experience for you is to
00:37shoot it natively.
00:38That means two cameras, two eyes that see exactly what you're seeing.
00:42We're the first movie to ever shoot IMAX 3D.
00:46We place these two gigantic cameras on top of each other to give you amazing resolution.
00:50It's just like your eyes, you see depth and it's beautiful and it's something you cannot fake.
00:54We're gonna spend the extra 10 to 15 million dollars and we're gonna do it right.
00:58We're in fact the only movie this summer that was shot in native 3D.
01:02So an image like this to post-convert is virtually impossible.
01:06See those billions of little particles here?
01:09They have to capture each one of those and put them in different space.
01:12Whereas when you shoot it natively, it's already doing that for you.
01:15The scale of a Transformers movie is meant to be seen on the big screen with great Dolby Atmos sound
01:22and brightly lit 3D screens.
01:25Michael's always on the cutting edge of technology for the audience to have them have a more visceral experience.
01:32His filmmaking is a very three-dimensional style.
01:35Transformers has been a giant part of our brand. It helped build IMAX.
01:39Michael is the very first filmmaker to take two of these cameras and configure them on a 3D rig and
01:46shoot in 3D in real time.
01:48And that's not trivial.
01:50The resolution, the detail, the clarity, it really is mind-boggling.
01:55It was a lot of fun to shoot. I keep saying this is my last one and I'm going out
01:59with a bang.
02:00I think this is a big scale movie.
