00:04I really have not been on anything
00:06that has had quite the insane breadth and depth

00:14We were doing one scene out in No Man's Land
00:17and there's smoke at all times out there,
00:20and at one point there I saw blue smoke,
00:22and I turned to Patty and I said,
00:24well, does the blue smoke have any reference
00:26to anything in reality?
00:26She said, no, we chose the color
00:30of what the smoke would look like
00:32because it was gonna read a different way on film
00:34and also interact with everybody's costumes
00:37in a certain way that I just liked,
00:39which I thought was extraordinary.
00:41You know, that's a potentially very small detail
00:44that many people would kind of brush aside
00:47that Patty is investing time and energy thinking about.
00:51I had the driving attachment to it in the first place
00:55to help guide me in trying to do the movie
00:58that I would have wanted to see.
00:59And so that's the formula I was always working on.
