00:00Things as simple as focusing on a different part of a frame, or some behind-the-scenes
00:05information about the shooting of a moment, can change the way you look at a scene forever.
00:11So just like the prior version of this list made it impossible for you to watch a number
00:15of Star Wars moments the same way, this hotly anticipated sequel is about to do the very
00:21same with more duels, gripping conversations, and quite iconic scenes.
00:26So I'm Gareth, this is WhatCultureStarWars, and here are 10 more Star Wars moments impossible
00:32to watch the same after this video.
00:35Number 10, Two Droids Getting Excited Over General Grievous' Lightsabers, Episode 3, Revenge
00:41of the Sith.
00:42Kicking things off with a fun one here, Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith saw the great Obi-Wan
00:47Kenobi crossing lightsabers with the spluttering cyborg known as General Grievous, and following
00:53on from the Jedi Master dropping down, unleashing a cheeky hello there, and eventually coming
00:59face-to-face with the four-armed villain, something quite hilarious actually occurs in the background.
01:05It is a moment very few likely spotted during their first few watches of the first moment
01:10we see Grievous use a lightsaber in live action, but just keep a close eye on two little B1 battle
01:16droids to the left of the Kaleesh Warlord.
01:18As Grievous ignites his four stolen Jedi weapons to fight Kenobi, one of the droids nudges their
01:24mate as if to say,
01:25DUDE, IT'S HAPPENING!
01:26Once you clock that tiny little comical beat in the distance, it's just about impossible
01:31to rewatch the epic beginning to this duel the same way again.
01:35How can you not chuckle at two clankers doing exactly the same thing you would do when introducing
01:39this very scene to a pal for the first time?
01:42Look, it's happening!
01:43Now let's give a bit of love to the droids, eh?
01:45Hit me with your favourite droid moments from this galaxy far, far away.
01:49In the comments section, just hit them down there.
01:51Number 9.
01:52The internet realises Padme should not have survived this.
01:56Episode 2, Attack of the Clones
01:57Remember when Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padme Amidana had to fight their way out
02:03of trouble within the Petronaki arena during Episode 2, Attack of the Clones?
02:07Of course you do, but we gotta talk about it anyway.
02:10The two Jedi fend off the Reek and Ackley, while the Senator had to deal with a terrifying
02:15feline known as the Nexu.
02:17She does precisely that in the end, and ultimately hops off a rather large pole onto the back
02:22of the aforementioned Reek her beloved Annie has remarkably managed to tame.
02:27Back when you first watched the moment, you likely didn't bat an eyelid at that latter
02:31part, with it largely being lost in the rest of the chaos going down within the arena,
02:35and forgotten after the Clones finally showed up to kick some Separatist ass.
02:39However, as the years have rolled by, many a Star Wars fan online have actually come to
02:45realise that Amidala's jump shouldn't have been as effortless as she made it look.
02:49She was launching herself from 20 feet in the air onto a rather sturdy creature, um,
02:55crotch first.
02:56It should not have ended well for the former Queen of Naboo.
02:58Perhaps Anakin used the Force to help soften her landing.
03:02Or maybe Padme is just built different.
03:04Either way, you'll now struggle to ever re-watch this moment without wondering how
03:08in the hell she managed to not be completely broken, or even killed by the impact of that
03:13nasty landing.
03:14Number 8.
03:15The Merging of Two Takes
03:17Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith
03:18Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith boasts some of the prequel's finest moments, with a number
03:24of enthralling duels, jaw-dropping set pieces, and memorable exchanges occurring in this third
03:30chapter in the Skywalker saga.
03:32And Chancellor Sheev, Palpatine, and Anakin Skywalker's little chat at the opera certainly
03:37falls into that last category.
03:39Because you were too busy getting lost in the former's tale of Darth Plagueis the Wise,
03:44and Ian McDermid's tremendous work as the manipulative secret Sith Lord, though, you
03:48most likely missed a quite jarring moment.
03:51With George Lucas constantly trying to find new ways to bring his vision to the screen,
03:55the director opted to actually use multiple different takes when editing some scenes in the
04:00prequels. Taking the bits you liked from each and then just blending them together. This is most
04:05noticeable during that aforementioned opera sequence. If you keep a close eye on Hayden
04:10Christensen's face in the scene, you'll spot that it oddly morphs as one take is merged with
04:17another. And just like that, good luck getting through this night at the opera again without
04:21getting massively distracted by this attempt to sneakily combine two versions of one scene via
04:27some Lucas cyber-editing.
04:297. It was Mark Hamill's idea to improvise a goodbye to 3PO, Episode 8, The Last Jedi.
04:35The previous version of this list already provided one sweet behind-the-scenes detail that completely
04:41alters the way you watch a specific moment towards the end of Episode 8, The Last Jedi.
04:46But it turns out that Mark Hamill's improvised kiss on Carrie Fisher's forehead during their
04:51moving scene wasn't the only thing that didn't appear in the script. As the actor himself
04:55would later reveal to Entertainment Tonight, the original plan was to have Luke Skywalker
05:00just walk right on by C-3PO after he'd finished talking to his sister in the scene.
05:05However, after a conversation with director Rian Johnson, the pair soon agreed that the Jedi
05:10Master should definitely have at least a small moment with a character who was the closest
05:15thing to a sidekick that Luke had, in Hamill's words.
05:18And with Johnson not having enough time to really script anything, Hamill just acknowledged
05:23his old droid pal, throwing out a spontaneous wink that he later confessed to not even remembering
05:28he did in the moment. It's a surprisingly affecting beat. Gets me just a little bit emotional thinking
05:33about it. And one that will feel even more special the next time you take in The Last Jedi,
05:38now that you've learned that it was only added because of Hamill's love and respect for
05:42Anthony Daniels' character. Number 6. Jai-Alai Rackets Were Used As Equipment
05:47Episode 1, The Phantom Menace
05:49Speaking of everyone's favourite protocol droid, Episode 1, The Phantom Menace brought with it
05:54the not-at-all divisive revelation that none other than Anakin Skywalker was actually C-3PO's creator.
06:00Yep, that one went down really well. There is actually something else knocking around in the
06:04scene which introduces a rather bare C-3PO, however, which becomes quite the hilarious
06:09distraction once you realise what you're looking at. You see, as little Annie shows off his protocol
06:14pal to his future wife Padme Amidala, a number of tools and pieces of equipment are seen hanging
06:19around the droid. This being Star Wars though, George Lucas and his art department didn't choose
06:24to completely design all the props from scratch. Some of them were just real-world items hiding in
06:30plain sight. Joining the likes of the Gillette Razor that pops up as a communicator in this very
06:35same film, the Skywalker home also has Jai-Alai equipment scattered all over the place, with a
06:41number of the sports rackets being visible in the background in these scenes. And for some reason,
06:46once you've spotted them, the thought of Lucas and co taking one look at these plastic cestars,
06:51hanging them upside down and then seemingly thinking, yep, that looks Star Wars-y enough,
06:55just makes this big 3PO reveal a bit more amusing. Thank you very much for saying hello there today,
07:00my very good friend. If you're enjoying your fine self, then why not tap on that subscribe button
07:05down below while you're here. Go and do it, it's free.
07:08Number 5, Iman Esfandi was just as unaware as Ezra in one moment, Ahsoka.
07:13After being blasted off screens at the end of the Rebels animated series, Ezra Bridger made his
07:18long-awaited live-action debut, along with a number of his fellow spectres in Disney Plus' Ahsoka.
07:25But with Kanan Jarrus' Padawan being away from the galaxy far, far away for quite some time,
07:30since fans last saw him in that animated show, his old pal Sabine Wren was on hand to get him
07:35up to date on all the events he missed in Part 7, Dreams and Madness. Funnily enough though,
07:41Ezra actor Iman Esfandi didn't actually need to do too much acting at this moment.
07:46As the star would later reveal to The Hollywood Reporter, he wasn't the biggest Star Wars fan
07:51before taking on the role. He'd later go on to fully immerse himself in the franchise after he
07:56finished shooting. But as he put it himself, when Sabine was filling Ezra in,
08:00I also didn't know much about it. Once Esfandi realized that this was the way Bridger learned
08:05about everything from the fall of the Empire, to the Emperor dying, to the New Republic for the
08:11first time, he couldn't help but find it a bit hilarious. So the next time you watch this part
08:15of the Ahsoka adventure, just know that Esfandi legitimately didn't know all that much about
08:20the galaxy's recent history either.
08:224. The moment Obi-Wan dropped off Luke Skywalker was difficult for Ewan McGregor, Episode 3,
08:28Revenge of the Sith. You no doubt already know that shooting a film that relies heavily on digital
08:33effects isn't always a glamorous experience. After all, acting opposite tennis balls and pretending
08:39to use mystical powers that will only be added in during post-production can be a tad embarrassing
08:44on set. But what you may not be aware of is just how humiliating shooting one specific moment in Episode
08:513, Revenge of the Sith, was for Obi-Wan Kenobi himself, Ewan McGregor. Knowing that he was
08:56gonna shoot the all-important moment when his Jedi Master would hand baby Luke Skywalker over to his
09:02Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru on Tatooine, the excited actor invited his mate to come watch. With that
09:08scene involving Kenobi getting off and on an EOpie though, McGregor soon found himself being clonked on
09:13a big green box. And rather than helping the actor by moving the block that would be swapped out for
09:19the alien creature later on, the star was forced to do his own awkward swaying. Oh, but it gets worse.
09:25Along with the cast having no clue where to look when George Lucas shouted out for them to look at
09:30the moons! Due to the whole set being one big green screen, cheers George, McGregor also didn't know
09:37whether his ride had turned around or not before hopping back on. Unsurprisingly, that awkward moment
09:42did not make the cut. It all made for a hell of an embarrassing but rather comical day at the
09:47office.
09:47And you'll now never be able to get the image of an awkward McGregor on his green block in front
09:53of
09:53his pals out of your head whenever you watch him dismount during this big moment.
09:57Number 3. The Rey and Ben kiss was a goodbye Episode 9 The Rise of Skywalker
10:02In a film crammed up full of controversial moments, perhaps the most talked about of the lot involved
10:09two of the sequel trilogy's main characters sharing a smooch. Some think that the kiss was jarring and
10:15unnecessary, while others have defended it, feeling it was a romantic moment that was earned after
10:20watching the pair's relationship develop throughout the series. Was this really a romantic lip lock in
10:25the final seconds of Ben Solo's life though? Or was it actually something else entirely? Well,
10:30according to Rey actor Daisy Ridley, she felt it was the latter. Speaking about that Episode 9 The Rise of
10:36Skywalker kiss on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the British star not only revealed that she felt the
10:41moment was very much earned, and that they actually did a version of the scene without it too. She also
10:46thought of the smooch as a goodbye. Not only was Rey saying goodbye to Ben here, but Ridley was also
10:52saying farewell to the franchise as a whole, for a bit. Hearing what was really going through the
10:57actor's mind here as she was preparing to smooch Adam Driver's solo definitely adds a different layer
11:03to that divisive moment, with those who initially saw it as an out-of-nowhere romantic gesture now
11:08possibly being able to accept that this was simply someone's way of saying goodbye to an important
11:13person in, and part of, their life.
11:162. I Am Your Father has reversed footage in it
11:19Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back
11:22Are you ready to never look at one of the most iconic scenes in movie history the same way ever
11:26again? Well, you better be. Easily the most memorable moment ever to go down in a Star Wars movie.
11:32Darth Vader revealing to Luke Skywalker that he was actually his father blew the minds of audiences
11:38all over the planet back in 1980, and it's a scene that has since been watched and rewatched by
11:43generations. But even after all those years of listening to James Earl Jones' thunderous voice
11:49inform Mark Hamill's young Luke that he was his daddy, there's still a good chance you have never
11:54spotted one quite interesting detail hiding in plain sight. Just after Jones says that legendary
12:00I Am Your Father line, really focus on David Prowse within that Vader suit for the last half second
12:06or so before we see Luke's stunned face. The footage appears to actually be reversed here,
12:11as one poster on Reddit guessed. Director Irving Kirshner perhaps realised Jones' delivery was
12:17slightly longer than the footage they'd shot, and decided to just briefly rewind the footage to
12:22make it fit. If that's what happened, well, it worked too. But it's something you'll now never
12:26be able to unsee, so you are welcome. Number one, the strange secret cameo on Mustafar,
12:31Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith. Admittedly, this one is a little tougher to spot than any of the
12:36previous ten entries. But once you do, there is just no going back, folks. As Episode 3, Revenge of
12:42the Sith reaches its closing stretch, Anakin Skywalker and his old Jedi master, Obi-Wan Kenobi,
12:48clash amidst the lava on the fiery planet of Mustafar. It's a properly emotional and incredibly
12:54choreographed duel. However, it's one that also contains a secret cameo that very few noticed
13:00until quite recently. Right when The Chosen One goes to jump over Kenobi as they fight on a hovering
13:05platform, a face strangely pops up over Anakin's shoulder for no longer than a second. The mug posted
13:12on Reddit earlier this year could possibly belong to a member of the crew helping Hayden Christensen
13:17during this particular stunt, or perhaps just preparing to catch him if something went wrong on
13:21the green screen set. And this super brief error was probably just missed when piecing together the
13:27explosive climax. Again, it is a super tough one to catch if you don't know what you're looking for
13:33or even where. But when you do finally see the face of this Mustafar man, you will never be able
13:38to get
13:38through this section of that classic showdown without thinking about him briefly having Annie's back.
