00:00Did you have anything to do with the disappearance of your wife?
00:03No. I don't know where she is. I don't know what happened to her.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo. And today, we'll be discussing infamous cases of marital discord
00:13that resulted in accusations of murder.
00:23Neil Entwistle. It was a case that made headlines all over the New England area.
00:28Here was a young family with everything to live for,
00:31totally destroyed by one man's selfishness and his murderous behavior.
00:35That of a man named Neil Entwistle,
00:37who was both accused and convicted of murdering his wife, Rachel, and their young daughter, Lillian.
00:42This unfathomable crime of familicide was levied against Entwistle,
00:47who had emigrated from the United Kingdom before settling in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.
00:52The relationship he was portraying to the outside world wasn't really what was going on at all.
00:57In fact, he was living a secret life, a double life.
01:00The killer actually escaped the U.S. after what authorities believed to be a failed act of murder
01:06and self-destruction, returning to London on a one-way ticket.
01:10Entwistle would be extradited back to the States, however,
01:13where he is currently serving a life sentence for his crimes.
01:16It's taking a moment to reflect on the news that her son will now spend the rest of his life
01:25in jail
01:27without any possibility of parole.
01:30Michael David McKee.
01:32It's the most recent case we'll be discussing today.
01:34An example of somebody in a high-profile position charged with a terrible crime.
01:39Now that question remains that many friends and family are wondering,
01:44what was the motive behind this suspect's action?
01:48Michael David McKee took an oath to help people as a vascular surgeon.
01:52But this promise to do no harm allegedly didn't extend to his wife, Monique.
01:57McKee has been accused of murdering not only his ex-wife,
02:00but also her new husband with the bodies being found in the home on December 30th, 2025.
02:05Just days after the deadly shooting, police releasing video of a person of interest.
02:10Columbus police say they matched a car owned by McKee to a spot near the Teppi's home
02:14around the time of the murder.
02:16What's even worse is how the slayings of Monique and Spencer Teppi allegedly occurred.
02:21Their young children were sleeping in nearby rooms, although they fortunately weren't harmed.
02:26If you listed out the people who would likely be accused of committing a double homicide,
02:33a fully trained vascular surgeon would be at the bottom of my list.
02:39Scott Peterson.
02:40Few crimes captured the zeitgeist in the early 2000s,
02:44quite like the horrific murder of Lacey Peterson.
02:47Well, I think that what caught everybody's imagination was Lacey Peterson and her picture.
02:53People saw this photo of this missing woman.
02:56Her husband, Scott Lee Peterson, was tried and convicted of both first and second degree murder.
03:01These charges stemmed from the fact that Lacey was pregnant at the time of her death.
03:06Her due date?
03:07Just around the corner.
03:08Peterson was initially sentenced to death,
03:10but this would later be reduced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
03:15State of California versus Scott Peterson.
03:18We, the jury, and above entitled cause find the defendant, Scott Lee Peterson,
03:22guilty of the crime of murder of Lacey Denise Peterson.
03:25Then, and even more shocking news.
03:282024 saw Scott Peterson receive a new status hearing after the L.A. Innocence Project claimed
03:34new evidence that might exonerate the accused.
03:37None of this alleged evidence has resulted in any verdict being overturned at the time of writing.
03:42When I heard they wanted to show actual innocence based on newly discovered evidence,
03:52Hollywood has certainly had its own fair share of high-profile murder cases,
03:57including those involving a husband and wife.
03:59The 51-year-old actor who played a cop in the FX series The Shield is accused of killing his
04:04wife,
04:05April, and is charged with murder.
04:07Michael Jace is probably best known for his performances on The Shield as Officer Julian Lowe,
04:12but he made headlines for a different reason back in 2014.
04:16Jace was accused, tried, and convicted of murdering his wife, April,
04:20ending a decade-long plus marriage with shocking violence.
04:24But police say Jace fatally shot his wife in their home Monday night.
04:28The actor called 911 after committing the crime and fully cooperated with police
04:32by delivering a confession that same evening.
04:35The resulting trial in 2016 saw Jace sentenced to prison with a 40-year-to-life sentence.
04:41Former actor Michael Jace was sentenced to 40 years to life behind bars
04:45after a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder.
04:48Chris Watts
04:49It sounds so inconceivable.
04:51How could someone, anyone, harm a child?
04:54Never mind one's own.
04:56I just want them back.
04:58I just want them to come back.
05:00And in a manner so brutal and heartless as what was detailed during the trial of Chris Watts back in
05:052018.
05:06The marriage between Watts and his pregnant wife, Shanann, wasn't going well,
05:10when details arose of how he had strangled his wife before smothering his children and disposing of their bodies.
05:16Perhaps the most chilling part of the story is that everyone who knew Chris never saw this coming.
05:21After being arrested, Watts didn't attempt to hide his guilt.
05:25To avoid a potential death penalty, he entered a guilty plea, receiving multiple life sentences without parole.
05:31While one could argue that justice was served, it's hard to find any true justice when a crime is this
05:37heinous.
05:37Nothing less than a maximum sentence would be appropriate.
05:46And anything less than the maximum sentence would depreciate the seriousness of this offense.
05:52Drew Peterson
05:53Some people just aren't built for the personal ebbs and flows of a marriage.
05:57Kathy and I had what was called a bifurcated divorce.
06:00And we were legally divorced and free to marry others, but the property still hasn't been settled.
06:05And she died during that time.
06:06People like Drew Peterson, a former Illinois police sergeant who had been married twice prior to being convicted for murdering
06:12his third wife, Kathleen Savio, shortly after their divorce.
06:16But the story doesn't end there, since Peterson's fourth wife, Stacey Ann Kales, remains missing at the time of this
06:23writing, with the latter's family suspecting Peterson of the crime.
06:26Peterson is not charged in that case.
06:28The disgraced police officer was also convicted of attempting to hire a hit person to take the life of James
06:34Glasgow, who was persecuting Peterson for the murder.
06:37You guys understand the unique situation that this is.
06:40The attorney general is the prosecutor.
06:42I'm also a prosecutor.
06:43But they're in charge of this case, and I'm going to follow their instructions.
06:48And they've asked me to refer all inquiries to the attorney general.
06:51Robert Durst
06:52It isn't every day that a television documentary series results in such a high-profile and memorable admission of guilt.
06:59What the hell are you doing with that?
07:10Kill them all.
07:11Of course.
07:13Yet, that's where we were back in 2015 with The Jinx, an HBO program that made small-screen history when
07:20Robert Durst admitted on camera his role in the murder of a friend, Susan Berman.
07:25Last weekend, as The Jinx crescendoed to its grand finale, a new chapter begins.
07:31New Orleans police arrest Durst on a warrant issued in Los Angeles for the murder of Susan Berman.
07:37Durst was also charged with the second-degree murder of his first wife, Kathy McCormick, whose body was never found.
07:44This son of old New York City real estate developer Seymour Durst wouldn't be convicted of this crime.
07:49But Durst would notably take a plea deal in the separate murder and dismemberment of a neighbor named Morris Black.
07:56At the end of his life, Robert Durst was in failing health and serving a life-without-parole sentence for
08:01murder, having plenty of time to perhaps wonder how he got away with it all for so long.
08:05Klaus von Bülow
08:06Did Klaus von Bülow get away with murder?
08:16Or did issues with evidence and a second trial result in one of history's most high-profile miscarriages of justice?
08:23This British lawyer certainly knew the legal system inside and out.
08:27Yet, there are many out there who feel that von Bülow's original conviction for intentionally injecting his wife with insulin
08:33was the right call.
08:44Still, although von Bülow would be acquitted during his second trial, he would eventually be forced to formally divorce the
08:51deceased Sonny von Bülow without any claims to his ex-wife's finances.
09:01Robert Blake
09:02He was TV's Beretta, a tough, small-screen cop played by Robert Blake.
09:07Uh, is this the place you were telling me about?
09:10The very spot.
09:11Now you come along with Uncle Tony, I'll show you a little taste of paradise.
09:15Yet, this successful child star and character actor will probably be better known for the real-life drama of his
09:21later years.
09:22Blake wasn't found guilty of murdering his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley, back in 2001, but a court would find the
09:29busting and Electra Glide in Blue actor liable in a 2005 civil suit.
09:34A jury ultimately found him not guilty of the crime, but Bakley's family was later awarded $30 million in a
09:41wrongful death suit that left the actor bankrupt.
09:44Blake's third wife, Pamela Hudak, testified on the actor's behalf during his trial, which levied accusations against Bakley as a
09:51serial spouse with 10 ex-husbands and a history of financial extortion.
09:56Robert Blake died of heart disease on March 9, 2023.
10:00Now a sad and lonely ending for a forgotten big star.

10:21OJ Simpson
10:22It was a trial that captured the attention of multiple generations, from those who watched OJ Simpson's career in the
10:28NFL, to fans who might have watched any of the Juice's movies.
10:33Nordberg!
10:34Hiya, buddy!
10:34Ay!
10:35Doc says I should be on my bean and it's good as new in a week.
10:38Simpson's arrest and trial for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, was a
10:43media circus for the ages.
10:45Water-cooler television, where new details and personalities seemed to emerge on a daily basis.
10:50This was the perfect soap opera.
10:54The OJ Simpson murder case was the first true reality show.
11:00Sensationalized personalities like Judge Lance Ito, Hollywood witness Kato Kaelin, and even lawyers Marsha Clark, Johnny Cochran, and even Robert
11:09Kardashian.
11:09While we all know the verdict, the legacy of OJ Simpson would never recover from its association with crime, murder,
11:17and the dark side of fame.
11:18But in the end, at least publicly, OJ Simpson felt content about his place in the world.
11:24What are your thoughts on some of these high-profile court cases?
