00:02marks the 60th anniversary of ITB Berlin,
00:05the world's leading tourism trade show.
00:08This year's event
00:09is set against a backdrop of heightened
00:11geopolitical tensions.
00:13And although most of the world are still in attendance,
00:15conversations around safety, security
00:17and resilience have come to the forefront of the event.
00:25Though taking place in Berlin,
00:27this year's host country is Angola.
00:32We
00:33want to promote our country
00:36because we are well aware
00:38that nobody visits
00:40the place that they don't
00:42know, so we have to make
00:43ourselves known to the world.
00:46Being host country
00:48of ITB is
00:50a, I mean, a
00:51concrete expression of
00:53how ambitious is the Angola.
00:57Most of the
00:58countries are known for one product.
01:00Angola has the big five plus gorillas.
01:03That means that we
01:04can do safari and we can do
01:06tropical forest.
01:08We have the oldest desert in the world,
01:11Namibia desert,
01:12and the second biggest waterfall
01:14in Africa, Kalandula waterfalls.
01:25in the world.
01:44Adventure travel is a key
01:46topic here at ITB Berlin.
01:47Zeni, for example, the world famous
01:49is the most beautiful volcano
01:51in the world.
01:53You go there, you climb and you
01:55see it's like paradise, they say.
02:01Azerbaijan is a great place to go and see
02:03maybe some nature spot
02:05in the mountains of Schachtach
02:07or on the way for
02:09a sunset, the candy cane mountains
02:11which get in a beautiful orange
02:13red colouring for sunset.
02:18Many destinations are seeing tourists
02:20demand a deeper and more authentic
02:21experience away from the typical tourist
02:23sites and tours.
02:27Many people know mountain ranges
02:29in other countries.
02:31Hiking the greater Caucasus
02:33is from many a new experience
02:35and an experience maybe where they can
02:36be with their own zen
02:40discovering the new mountain range.
02:43I think hiking especially
02:45is a trend connecting
02:47with nature, connecting with people
02:49with mountain villages, with heritage
02:51with traditions, practices
02:53in the villages, might it be
02:55from copper crafts
02:57or silk heritage or
02:59mountain herbs in the
03:00in the greater Caucasus.
03:02So I think hiking is a beautiful
03:05topic connecting all these
03:07items of meaningful connection
03:09between a destination and a traveller.
03:15So food in Montenegro is
03:17I promise you, beautiful.
03:18food that was locally produced
03:21and that actually has the taste
03:23of produce, the beautiful taste
03:25of the land, of the grass, of the
03:27air.
03:28And by all means you should combine it
03:30with some of our lovely wines.
03:33My preference is Vranac.
03:36Vranac is an indigenous grape
03:39sort, grows mostly in Montenegro
03:41and partly in Macedonia.
03:43It resembles a bit Primitivo,
03:45Italian Primitivo.
03:46So it's very opulent red wine
03:49but goes beautifully with
03:50very hearty, good food
03:52that you can eat in our country.
03:57But building tourism isn't just
03:59about adding new attractions
04:00to their own visitors.
04:01It's about making it easier
04:03for them to get there
04:03in the first place.
04:04The challenge usually is in the
04:06connectivity and also infrastructure.
04:09I'm glad to report that in 2026
04:13all these wonders are going to be
04:16much more accessible than even last year.
04:19This year we are having over 130
04:22airline destinations.
04:24So connectivity has dramatically improved.
04:26It's a great tool.
04:30You want to experience the local culture
04:32you can experience anywhere in Malaysia.
04:34So you just need to connect the tourists
04:37with what they want to try.
04:38You also can experience how the Malaysians live.
04:42That's how we want to show to the people
04:44for this year.
04:47With improved access allowing deeper connections,
04:50the whole industry is helping to diversify visitors
04:53and keep tourism thriving.
