00:08Massive vehicles, huge wheels, loud engines and lots of mud.
00:13This is the intense and dirty world of mega mud trucks.
00:20The adrenaline rush is like no other, it's unbelievable.
00:25We have different events at every event, this will be the tire pull.
00:31There's hill and hole events, that's where we jump the trucks across three hills as a
00:35timed event.
00:36There will also be mud drags where we're in the mud, side by side drag racing, it's better
00:41than any drug.
00:45An avid fan of mega truck events, Ryan Camp from Georgia USA felt he could no longer stay
00:51on the sidelines and decided to have his own competition standard vehicle built so he could
00:56take part himself.
00:58That original truck is just a two wheel drive low riders street truck, bought it over in
01:03South Carolina, I made about a four hour drive, basically there and back, bought the truck,
01:08took it to BMF Fab, they began the process of starting the chassis.
01:12It took a whole year and an outlay of $80,000 for his 650 mega truck to be finished.
01:21It's a 1950 Chevrolet, a full body truck, it's all steel, it has a 540 blower motor, it's a
01:291271 BDS street blower, runs on alcohol.
01:35It's got two and a half ton axles, front and rear.
01:39It has 20 inch travel Scott shocks, these are the 136-26 BKT-171s, they've been cut and
01:48scooped for more traction.
01:50The rims are powder coated with a metallic finish.
01:53It's got the full roll cage, 5 point harnesses, special seats, everything about them, safety
02:01is definitely number one priority.
02:03Despite the extensive safety features, Ryan's wife, Brittany, still has her concerns.
02:09Brittany Stout, As his wife, I'm always his number one fan.
02:11When we were at West Georgia Mud Park a couple of weeks ago, they were just out playing around,
02:16they had done a jump and when he landed, he landed on two wheels and that is probably the
02:22most nerve wracking thing is just knowing that there is a possibility that they could flip.
02:29So far, Ryan has taken part in eight competitions and today he's driving at Trucks Gone Wild at
02:36Bithlo Mud Racing in Florida, USA.
02:39Even before the event has begun, his vehicle is attracting attention.
02:43Very unique truck, one of a kind, beautiful paint job, beautiful truck, nice craftsmanship.
02:50I think it's beautiful, I've always loved older model vehicles, you can see one all jacked
02:55up with all the different equipment that you don't see on other vehicles.
02:59But it won't stay clean and shiny for long, as Ryan prepares for today's event.
03:04We have different events at every event.
03:06This one happens to be the tire pull, this is the tri-truck challenge, it will be a three-truck
03:10team.
03:40We're two seconds on the train.
03:41We're two seconds off the leader.
03:41So right now we're in second place.
03:43So that's a great day overall, it was an awesome run, teammates did great, it was perfect.
03:48But the end of the competition isn't the end of Ryan's day with his pride and joy.
03:53As soon as I get home I try to wash it as quick as I can, it comes off a
03:56little bit easier.
03:57The pressure washing process and all, I mean it can take anywhere for three to four hours
04:00to get it cleaned up.
04:02This truck will never be for sale, it's just something I've dreamed of and I have a year of
04:07my life and time and money involved in.
04:09And I'll hang on to that one and give it to my son.
04:11I don't know.
