00:11there's something absolutely eating him up inside psychological distress oh my god we see a lot of
00:18traits of narcissistic personality disorder you can't process me with a normal brain it was just
00:22another manipulation on charlie sheen's part we are in the middle of a movement here a bizarre
00:28weirdest things i've ever seen done by a celebrity in hollywood uh winning there's people openly talking
00:34about will he die soon charlie sheen's wild life began when he was born carlos erwin estevez on
00:44september 3rd 1965 in new york city he was really funny even as a little kid i had a hernia
00:50when i
00:50was three years old and it wasn't from heavy lifting it was um it was from yelling charlie could go
00:56slightly hysterical they really you know had a pretty volatile temper i had to have an operation
01:01the whole thing and and i asked my parents years later what i was so upset about and they said
01:07that
01:07being stared at was not acceptable even as a young kid he was acting out in very anti-social behaviors
01:15there is some literature really supporting the idea that kids who are behaviorally dysregulated
01:21might have a greater propensity returning to drugs and alcohol charlie's dad was actor martin sheen
01:28real name ramon estevez his mom janet was also an actor the labeling showbiz family never really fit
01:37our group my dad was always just a consistently working actor who was sort of living one gig to the
01:42next he wasn't trying to be a movie star he was just trying to pay the bills do good work
01:49and support a
01:51family in 1970 martin and janet packed up the kids and moved from new york to malibu the sheens were
01:58were a little alternative they were kind of hollywood hippies they would go through their different
02:04phases of interest from vegetarianism to nudism to macrobiotics and yoga my mom was always searching
02:10for a new goo she used to cook in the nude and i'd have friends over and they'd walk into
02:16the kitchen
02:16there's my mother standing there naked cooking dinner hi hi honey they were naked yeah they were
02:23naked and it was embarrassing i didn't invite a lot of friends over during that phase
02:30charlie loved hanging out on film sets in 1976 he flew to the philippines to watch his dad shoot
02:37apocalypse now charlie's watching francis coppola make this incredible movie ben martin had a heart
02:43attack attack and they had a flying by helicopter to manila it was it was very strange because we'd
02:47seen him and then he looked healthy and focused angry but that was the character and then to come
02:53back just a few weeks later he's on a cane and wheelchair and it was like jesus well his dad
03:01recovered
03:01charlie returned to the states in 1980 he entered santa monica high school but studying took a back seat to
03:08baseball he never missed practice because he knew what the consequences were and and that was not
03:14playing he was the best pitcher on the whole team for samuel high he wanted to be a professional
03:19baseball player from as long as i can remember and the teenager partied like one they used his father's
03:29credit card to help him lose his virginity with a prostitute in las vegas when charlie was 16
03:36his father gave him a bmw as a gift it was probably the biggest mistake martin ever made because that
03:42changed charlie's life drastically he would party in that car and it ultimately led to his first run-in
03:47with the law i had a pot thing that was pretty silly i was so stoned and so tired that
03:53i just fell
03:54asleep in the car and i woke up to the cop and the car search and the reveal of contraband
04:00and
04:01off i went so that was the first arrest but they were they were pretty cool the judge was a
04:06friend
04:06of the family and they gave a little slap and you know they didn't give the pot back
04:16when he was 17 charlie got busted again this time for credit card fraud it was using uh credit card
04:23receipts and calling as the dad and just walking out with the stuff it was just like perfect and
04:28easy and uh and that sort of fell apart the incident was settled out of court looking back i didn't
04:36really apply myself you know i just i wanted to play baseball and i didn't really care about in the
04:41class for it there were certain teachers erupted the wrong way he had an altercation with an english
04:48teacher that didn't pan out well for him and the next day i found out that he had been kicked
04:55out
04:55of school there was no place i could go without any formal education and so i thought i would look
05:04into a real idiot's profession and become an actor i told my parents if i don't get a job or
05:10do something
05:11with my life by the end of the summer then i'll get the ged and i'll go off to college
05:15and play ball
05:16and well i got the first job i auditioned for it was a folk called grizzly 2. charlie turned on
05:23the role of karate kid just to be in the grizzly 2 movie she spent three weeks in eastern europe
05:30shooting his feature debut charlie was looking for an adventure to be part of something like this
05:38this movie is about a gigantic 16 foot tall mutated bear who kills eight people
05:50due to legal problems the film was never released grizzly 2 yeah yeah it didn't exactly catapult me
05:59into the stratosphere women drugs cards guns whatever
06:11it didn't exactly have to be part of it
06:16by 1984 charlie sheen had been kicked out of high school arrested twice and lost his virginity with
06:23a prostitute in december of that year the 19 year old became a father i don't think many people know
06:30much about paula prophet and charlie's relationship they were high school sweethearts charlie and paula never
06:36ended up getting married but they did have a daughter cassandra and charlie has said himself
06:40that at the time he wasn't exactly the best father i wasn't as involved as maybe i should have been
06:45but
06:46i can't really live in regret about that and paula was great she turned out to be a really good
06:50mom
06:51charlie was more focused on his career that spring he landed a scene-stealing role in ferris bueller's day off
06:59drugs
07:03thank you no i'm straight i meant are you in here for drugs the funny thing was is before bueller
07:10i had walked into a restaurant and they asked me what the specials were you know then bueller comes
07:14out i'm in the film for like six and a half minutes and and i'm getting offers and attention
07:20charlie's biggest break really came with oliver stone's platoon we made it clear up right before
07:25they left the united states we were not interested in them working on this film unless they were
07:30willing to undergo two weeks of rehearsal uh as training as light infantry we were thinking yeah
07:37that's fine but this is still a movie so we were walking apart it wasn't it was really difficult
07:43one particular scene was almost charlie's last we were going up in a chopper and just a couple of
07:49quick shots chopper to chopper and then we're going to come right down so no seat belts or no safety
07:53precautions on the last take the angle shifted and the helicopter tilted more than it it had
08:03previously i just remember hitting some kind of a wind shear and the chopper pitching right and i just
08:11happened to notice that he was sliding toward the open door i started to go and at that point found
08:18a
08:18giant hand on the back of my gear i grabbed him i wasn't going to watch my friend slide out
08:23of my
08:23helicopter if there was something i could do about it while shooting platoon director oliver stone
08:33locked sheen in for another film a contemporary drama called wall street that happened in the jungle
08:41on the set one day he asked me to sign a napkin true story to uh commit myself to
08:47his next project it would be about a young trader seduced by the promise of a quick game
08:57wall street was a huge hit and for sheen the perfect excuse to party the wheels just came off
09:04the wagon the jester flew out of the box women drugs cars guns whatever take any
09:1321 year old red-blooded american kid and give him a giant dose of fame and opportunity and stand back
09:20because things are going to get weird beautiful women were also charlie's constant companions
09:27drugs and sex do often go together drugs can lower inhibition and that lowered inhibition can lead to
09:33some very varied sexual choices we'd be holding hands and girls would come up and say here's my
09:40number when you're done with her let's just say he could charm the pants right off you we were pretty
09:44insatiable with each other there were days we started in the morning and didn't end until the next morning
09:49i went there to do it on the first day yes then i got a hotel room and it was
09:53worth it
09:55it wasn't fun to be driving home and see his car in front of a strange apartment complex i usually
10:02knew what was going on i did go out with him many times but i guess because i didn't consummate
10:08the
10:08whole situation immediately uh he kind of got like a little frustrated so he met this other gorgeous
10:16woman named kelly preston it was love at first sight he ended up proposing to her after knowing her for
10:22only three months but charlie's relationship with kelly was doomed according to sheen on march 23rd 1990
10:32preston's leg was injured when a gun fell out of his pants and fired accidentally kelly's wound was
10:38minor she required only two stitches however the couple split charlie got very depressed after he and
10:46kelly broke up he was really more into drugs than i had ever seen him before the drug thing at
10:51first you
10:52didn't seem so bad because i didn't know anybody that wasn't on it but then the glue started to
10:57think maybe it wasn't just having a good time it was deadly serious when i found out charlie sheen
11:05was to testify against me i thought that that was a really disgusting thing for him to do
11:21by 1990 24 year old charlie sheen was a movie star with a drug problem hollywood's contribution to
11:28addiction is it's a very complicated one because it's a pretty cruel world and for people who might be at
11:34risk for developing an addiction it's the most fertile ground possible for that to happen sometimes
11:39when you have problems and you're in the spotlight like charlie was that somehow you start to thrive
11:44on that and it makes the problem worse i think that's what happened in his case on august 3rd of
11:52that year those closest to the actor took drastic action his family had invited charlie over to their
11:58malibu home he thought it was going to be a birthday party for his father martin sheen's 50th birthday
12:04but turns out it was actually an intervention with his entire family my mom met me in the driveway and
12:10she said do you have any guns on you i thought uh it's an odd greeting i said no i
12:17don't i left them all at
12:19home and uh she said okay good okay come on in my name we're all here there's a very very
12:24carefully
12:25orchestrated uh meeting it wasn't and not one bit of it was spontaneous i got intervened you know i was
12:32on the receiving end of one of those things um pretty crafty too i tried to bargain the weekend you
12:37know and
12:38they uh they said no you you're gonna die this weekend after a month in rehab at a santa monica
12:46hospital she jumped back into work starring in a goofy parody of top gun called hot shots charlie
12:54tried to keep out of trouble i'm off the sauce you know i'm gonna just drink crapios that's all right
13:00gonna shake them off a little bit and he was really really upset that he couldn't do drugs or get
13:09high so he was like the only thing i have that's loved that's fun so we took care of that
13:16that style
13:18of craving and wanting and getting needs met can translate even when the person's not using the
13:23substance anymore they may want to keep the sex and get those needs met there meanwhile charlie
13:30was introduced to notorious hollywood madam heidi fleiss who ran a high class call girl operation
13:36in the early 90s when i first started doing business with charlie it was great he would tell
13:41me what he wanted and i would deliver what he wanted one of my girls came back one day and
13:46said
13:46oh it was great charlie wanted me to dress as a cheerleader why why would you do that you can
13:51have
13:52anybody you want but apparently it was necessary for him to have to have hookers and pay for sex people
13:58think prostitute they think of you know the girl on the street with the purse and the heels and the
14:04the crack pipe you know it's a little different the girls were coming out of clerical positions a lot
14:08of them college students a lot of models a lot of them actresses and economically it was a hard time
14:13for everybody so i was trying to help the cause most men who go for hookers have a serious intimacy
14:23issue
14:24they don't feel they can have that connection with someone who isn't as damaged
14:32so the reason charlie or somebody like him brings in this element is because it's a mirror of who he
14:39is
14:40he's a young rich movie star he's well endowed he's charming he's engaging he's fun who cares why he
14:45paid well what it does is it eliminates a lot of hassle there's no emotional attachment not at first and
14:51you don't have to go out and put together a string of lies and deceit to satisfy a desire he
14:59said the
14:59funniest thing he's talking about the prostitutes he said i don't pay them for sex i pay them to leave
15:05from charlie's perspective yeah maybe you paid for him to leave i guess some didn't want to leave
15:12in june 1993 fleiss was arrested and charged with pandering for running a prostitution service
15:18when the heidi fleiss case started to break open one of the first celebrity names that came out of
15:24it was charlie sheen the only reason the public even knows charlie sheen was a client is at the
15:29time of my arrest i happened to have traveler's checks of his in my purse i remember having a
15:35conversation with him and said who the hell pays a whore with a check when charlie's name came out i
15:43wasn't happy about it but what could i do being involved in the heidi fleiss case further cemented
15:48his kind of naughty boy reputation in hollywood despite his problems sheen's career was secure
15:55charlie sheen did have a lot of legal issues but he was a fully employed actor studios were giving him
16:02acting jobs left and right they might have not been as serious as let's say wall street but he was
16:09still
16:09working in september 1994 sheen was honored with a star on the hollywood walk of fame as an actor
16:16i've been fortunate to have had the affection of the public without which the film was my career this
16:21suit this watch this haircut and this star wouldn't be possible these last few months he's had a very
16:28difficult struggle and he's come through with such grace and courage and this is kind of a crowning
16:34reward to all of that hard work in the spring of 1995 charlie was a witness at the heidi fleiss
16:42trial
16:42the government offered sheen immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony when i
16:48found out charlie sheen was uh he would testify against me i was not happy in fact i thought that
16:54that was a really disgusting thing yeah he testifies that he spent 53 000 on at least 27 escorts when
17:03i was
17:03listening to charlie sheen's testimony it seemed like he was doing it to votes for his own manlyhood
17:09at the time it really bothered me i really thought it was a scumbag thing to do i thought everyone
17:15hates
17:16a rat what people don't realize is that at the end of the day i was trying to protect hiding
17:21if i was
17:22hollywood i would be kissing charlie's ass because he took a bullet he knew everything and didn't sell
17:28anybody out fleiss was convicted on federal charges of conspiracy tax evasion and money laundering as
17:35part of a plea bargain she also served a concurrent state sentence of 18 months for attempted pandering
17:42she wrote a very eloquent letter that did ask for leniency in my sentencing and i wish the judge had
17:51listened but she didn't after all the fuss about heidi fleiss charlie was eager to settle down in
17:58september he married 25 year old model donna peel after a whirlwind six week romance i met her on a
18:05japanese commercial shoot i had written a story in my head in my 20s that i had to be married
18:10by the time
18:11i was 30. no stranger to drama i got married on my uh my 30th birthday um i didn't want
18:18to forget the
18:19anniversary but just five months later sheen filed for divorce i don't think i was prepared to
18:28to bring what was necessary to that marriage but i gave it a shot you know can't take a guy
18:34for trying right
18:36charlie quickly got involved with porn actress britney ashland i think it was maybe easier for
18:41him to be with people like adult film stars maybe he felt relaxed around these women they weren't all
18:49you know bring home to mom types they were sort of women on the edge narcissists are driven by
18:55fantasy people who make adult films people who work in the sex industry are fantasy so it's really it
19:02actually makes more sense than not this choice is consistent with living a larger life than anybody else
19:09following a nasty fight in december 1996 charlie was arrested for allegedly assaulting britney
19:15he was released on twenty thousand dollars bail mr sheen's completely cooperating with this
19:21investigation we hope that there's not going to be any violent that would be the right decision
19:24because the man didn't do anything wrong come on with the insanity plea works every time
19:45in june 1997 31 year old charlie sheen appeared in court to face assault charges filed by his girlfriend
19:53and britney ashland as a misdemeanor was committed by you in that you did willfully and unlawfully you
20:02sports and violence upon the person of britney ashland how do you plead to that charge no contest
20:08charlie ends up getting a year suspended sentence two years of probation and 300 hours of community service
20:15probation probation um it was just obey all laws i can't really discuss anything with her because
20:22i think there's like a standing gag order for the next like 75 years but whatever with charlie everything
20:29is a joke when it comes to his legal matters they're not serious at all he just laughs it off
20:34and says
20:36that it's all a bunch of beer a year later she was in trouble again one night in may of
20:431998 charlie did a
20:44lot of cocaine he said in his playboy interview let's take this all the way let's do as much as
20:49we can and one night he was sitting in his house and his friend had been shooting heroin into his
20:55arms
20:55so he picked up his friend's needle he loaded it up with cocaine and he shot it into his arm
20:59he waited
21:00a couple minutes and then he shot up again he started feeling really sick and he couldn't feel his legs
21:06and he panicked and he called his bodyguard and he said we need to call 911 i need to get
21:12to the hospital
21:15in the beginning the reports were kind of varied about what happened some said that he overdosed
21:20others said that he had a stroke and some reports said that he had died i appreciate it and the
21:26very
21:26first thing i want to assure you of is that my son charlie sheen is very much alive this is
21:31not an easy
21:32moment in our lives but it is a very important one a very necessary one my son was admitted here
21:37yesterday
21:37as a result of a drug overdose we are in the stages right now of recovery it is my hope
21:45that
21:47he will accept recovery and become free
21:54after completing a second stint in rehab sheen battled to rebuild his reputation i didn't come out of
22:01treatment uh with a lot of opportunity career-wise or financially nothing i mean the town just said
22:08how he's sober again yeah good luck prove it right so it gave me a really a really good chunk
22:13of time
22:13to just focus on what really mattered and what was really important
22:18charlie caught a huge break in february 2000 when he was cast in spin city after michael j fox announced
22:25he
22:25was leaving the popular sitcom you're going to come back and do network television you can do comedy
22:29in front of an audience which you've never done and you're going to replace michael j fox an icon you
22:36got to be kidding this was interesting casting very few actors would have taken this role i figured
22:42that the opportunity wasn't a coincidence that there was uh there was a reason behind this and i knew if
22:47i did it and it tanked that they would have blamed me while waiting for spin city to resume production
22:55sheen kept busy filming a movie called good advice during the shoot charlie became mesmerized by his
23:02co-star denise richards i remember charlie saying you know i think she's really beautiful and and you
23:08know i really like her personality and i'm like well charlie ask her out and you could tell she was
23:13enamored as well they'd flirted on the set but nothing really ever came of it when the new season of
23:20spin
23:20city began in fall 2000 the show got high ratings and sheen won glowing reviews charlie came and did
23:27everything right right from the beginning and so everybody immediately saw this was a guy who just
23:33came to work he was early he stayed late he knew his lines he you know he just was always
23:40there and by the
23:41way i was a male chili and the chicks loved it the following season the series welcomed a special guest
23:52star on the set of spin city denise richards and charlie sheen were able to get reacquainted it's awesome
23:59she's terrific i knew her from a film we did last summer we couldn't ignore what um what was obviously
24:05there and uh and it's a beautiful thing she's as genuine and great as she's beautiful the day after
24:13christmas charlie and denise were on a spa retreat and he had spent the entire day gifting her at the
24:20end of the day he said there's one mortgage for you and he asked her to marry him charlie's a
24:25great
24:26romantic he removed a few of his tattoos to honor their engagement and he put her name denise on his
24:31risk it showed his commitment after he has a good relationship that goes bad charlie he then finds
24:39a new relationship to console him
24:53with a hit tv show and a new relationship charlie sheen was on a roll in january 2002 he had
25:00another
25:01reason to celebrate a golden globe award for his work on spin city see it's so surreal i never won
25:07anything what an honor what a trip he's my hero for all the right reasons and now he's being celebrated
25:16in the best of all possible ways and i'm just i could not be happier it's more than nice yeah
25:22thank you
25:23you didn't get it right you didn't get it right abc cancelled spin city a few months later charlie
25:31didn't let that slow him down on june 15th the 36 year old married 31 year old denise richards it
25:38was
25:38very intimate very very small and nice exactly how she wanted it it was probably the happiest i've ever
25:46seen her charlie was ready for a fresh start in spring 2003 sheen was casting the lead on a new
25:54sitcom two and a half men i wasn't gonna go back to television just to do it but the piece
26:00i found
26:01is really special and really unique and is very it's really smart two and a half men is a perfect
26:06vehicle
26:07for charlie sheen because basically it is charlie sheen what are you watching
26:14softcore porn
26:17sounds on i don't need to hear him charlie sheen is 99 charlie harper he's a cigar smoking sports fan
26:28he loves women he loves a good drink he loves to live the good life
26:34the series quickly became a ratings hit after it premiered that september meanwhile charlie received
26:40more good news about a year after they got married denise found out that she and charlie were expecting
26:46a daughter on march 9 2004 the couple welcomes sam sheen into the world suddenly you're responsible for
26:54this tiny human's well-being 24 hours a day and it's a lot to step up to by the end
27:02of
27:022004 denise learned that she was expecting again but six months into her pregnancy richards filed for
27:09divorce citing irreconcilable differences after less than three years of marriage there were a
27:15number of theories about why denise and charlie were ending their relationship some of them were that he
27:20allegedly was involved in adulterous affairs that he allegedly was looking at adult websites charlie's
27:27rep has denied those allegations denise gave birth to lola rose on june 1st 2005. after their second
27:35daughter was born it looks like charlie and denise were going to reconcile their relationship but it
27:39just wasn't happening and in april of 2006 denise ridges filed papers against charlie denise alleged
27:46that charlie was being violent towards her so she filed a protection order to keep him away from her and
27:50children she said he threatened to kill me i'm filing now because i can no longer accept his abusive and
27:57threatening manner and must stop him from the cycle of his abuse toward me and our children
28:04according to court documents charlie denied the allegations still he was ordered by a judge to
28:10stay at least 300 feet from his estranged wife and their two daughters except during supervised weekly
28:17visits i had no idea the amount of attention attention that this would get i thought it would just be
28:22a little blurb of oh they split up but it was awful there was a lot of uh mudslinging get
28:28to the point
28:28where you can't read anything and you know you get mad at who's saying what and which friends of ours
28:34might be leaking stuff and it's hard by november 2006 the marriage between charlie sheen and denise
28:44richards was officially over they agreed to share custody of the children and moved on with their
28:48lives i'm done with it i hear about all the drama that charlie has had all these different people
28:55and to be honest with you i just think it's them trying to make him into something he isn't because
29:00basically i don't think charlie should be married i really don't after he has a good relationship that
29:05goes bad charlie he then finds a new relationship to console him falling in love it has a very similar
29:11brain profiles to using a stimulant drug so falling in love for him probably felt like using and he
29:18went with it a few months before his divorce was finalized charlie went public with his new girlfriend
29:24real estate investor brooke muller was a bit of a party girl in palm beach florida she came to l
29:30.a
29:30became an actress and then eventually became a real estate agent one would think he'd want to just
29:35take a break from women for a while but he went for brooke muller and by july of 2007 he's
29:42proposing
29:42getting married is very exciting but because of all the other stuff on board the sort of relationship
29:48after relationship after relationship pattern is not unusual in a person with an addiction he gave
29:53an 11-carat engagement ring that was estimated across a half a million dollars my husband had me
29:59in my life and i'm good for my life
30:12on may 30th 2008 charlie sheen married brooke muller at a private estate in los angeles there's a side of
30:19charlie that wants to have a family that needs that support that wants to have children that wants
30:24to have a home that summer the newlyweds announced they were expecting twins i remember seeing him
30:30backstage at the people's choice award the show had just won a big award the babies were about to be
30:37born he was so happy we're just uh you know clearing out another room getting some cribs ready uh i've
30:48gone through it a few times so uh it's it's exciting we're you know we're ready on march 14 2009
30:56brooke gave
30:57birth to bob and mac sheen charlie wasted no time getting back to work shooting the seventh season
31:04of two and a half men the thing about charlie sheen is that whenever things seem to take off for
31:10him
31:10professionally his personal life seems to tank do you have a domestic disturbance okay tell me exactly
31:18what happened apparently charlie and brooke were drinking christmas eve they began arguing
31:23it turned violent my husband had me all the night and i was good for my life and he threatened
31:29me okay
31:30what's your name brooke and what's your husband's name charlie was arrested and posted bail a few
31:42weeks later he and brooke appeared in an aspen courthouse she was officially charged with felony
31:48menacing misdemeanor third degree assault and criminal mischief brooke's position is she would like the
31:54charges dismissed and she would like this case to be offered addiction is linked to violent behavior
32:01more often than you would think you know when a person is high on drugs when a person is drunk
32:05on
32:05alcohol their judgment is impaired so if there's a propensity for violence or a situation where violence
32:10could occur the likelihood goes way up in march 2009 charlie sheen entered a not guilty plea for the
32:19domestic abuse charges that may cbs announced sheen had renewed his contract and would be back for
32:26another two years of two and a half men he went from earning eight hundred and fifty thousand dollars
32:30per episode to nearly uh two million dollars um and so charlie became the highest paid actor on television
32:37by giving him this raise i think they proved how much of a value charlie sheen was to two and
32:42a half men
32:43and they were willing you know to keep him happy and keep him motivated about coming to work and continue
32:48making a hit show then on august 2nd sheen struck a deal in connection with the christmas day fight
32:57with his wife brooke charlie pled guilty to misdemeanor assault and was sentenced to 30 days in jail he got
33:04off the hook fairly easily because of his attorney he was able to pick going to rehab as opposed to
33:10going
33:10to jail and this was actually his third time going back to promises in malibu
33:16just two months later sheen was in trouble again charlie was on a family trip to new york with his
33:22ex-wife denise richards and their two daughters staying in separate rooms at the plaza hotel
33:27one night charlie wanted a party and he hired a porn star capri anderson to accompany him he brought capri
33:35anderson back to his room and there were rumors that there was drinking and drugs involved police
33:45showed up and basically found charlie sheen intoxicated half naked removed him from his hotel
33:51suite charlie sheen was said to be cooperative and went to the hospital that evening and was released
33:59weeks later on november 1st 2010 sheen filed for divorce from brooke mueller he then turned his
34:05focus back to two and a half men charlie has said that he shows up to work he shows up
34:09on time
34:10he does his job he's never intoxicated and according to my sources he is able to turn it on and
34:16off
34:16hey hey well i think as an addict you start to adapt remember too it's not like he was doing
34:24an hour
34:24drama where he was forced at six o'clock in the morning to be in front of a camera when
34:28he had
34:28to look good and speak well and really seriously hit his mark was about four hours of one day a
34:33week
34:34most functioning drug addicts can pull that off but when the show went on hiatus in january charlie
34:42threw himself into partying full time the 36 hour bender charlie had actually started at a friend's home
34:49they were partying with a bevy of women including porn stars they were drinking they were dancing
34:54charlie wanted to continue he didn't want to stop they went to his house where they continued to
34:59party he was like on a mission i've never ever ever seen anybody in self-destruction mode when i left
35:06i'm pretty sure that he just kept doing drugs i just got a call from uh the residents of charlie
35:11sheen
35:12from the secretary apparently he's in a lot of pain
35:17that's when charlie sheen was rushed to the hospital by ambulance according to his rep uh
35:22stan rosenberg apparently was rushed to cedars because of abdominal pain and to this day charlie
35:27blames it on his hernia come wednesday morning they're going to rename it charlie brothers and
35:33warner brothers
35:51on january 28 2011 charlie sheen was rushed to the hospital at the end of a weekend-long party just
35:59days later two and a half men producers decided to extend the show's hiatus to allow the actor to
36:04enter rehab according to charlie sheen after the show was put on hiatus after he had submitted to
36:10entering rehab he went back to the two and a half men show creator and executive producer chuck lori and
36:17said i'm cured i'm not an addict i'm ready to do this i want to start two and a half
36:21men again according
36:23to a lawsuit later filed by sheen the actor claimed there were no scripts available when he was ready
36:28to work an attorney for lori responded that sheen's charges were recklessly false there's nothing uh
36:36decided deplorable that a certain heim levine yeah that's chuck's real name uh mistook this rockstar
36:42for his own selfish exit strategy bro and last i checked heim uh i've spent i think close to the
36:48last
36:49decade i don't know effortlessly and magically converting your your tin cans into pure gold and
36:55the gratitude i get in this get is this charlatan chose not to do his job which is to write
37:02he gave probably one of the most bizarre interviews that any celebrity has ever given and it left people
37:08baffled and it made people question his mental stability it made people question if he was an anti-semite
37:15and it made people just ask what in the world is going on with charlie sheen maybe he felt it
37:20was
37:20only way to scream out listen this is what's going on this is what i'm frustrated about i'm so tired
37:27of
37:27pretending like my life isn't perfect ambition and just winning every second and i'm not perfect in
37:33vision we see a lot of traits of narcissistic personality disorder we see a lot of grandiosity need
37:40for admiration a belief that he's somehow special and can only be understood by other people who are
37:45special he also talked about his own addiction about how he had cured himself and he didn't need
37:50alcoholics anonymous he thought they were just a big sham if i close my eyes and then and it's a
37:56nanosecond i cured myself from this ridiculous model of disease and addiction and obsession this bootleg
38:03cult uh you know arrogantly referred to as alcoholics anonymous one of the stupid monos don't be
38:09special be one of us newsflash i am special and i will never be one of you
38:16charlie felt an immediate backlash from this interview two and a half men cancelled for the
38:20rest of the season pretty much charlie was out of a job until executives from cbs and warner brothers
38:26had determined that he was ready to come back to work i'm not angry i'm passionate everybody thinks i
38:31should be like begging for my job back and i'm a man of my work so i will finish the
38:35tv show uh i'll
38:36do season ten but it's at this point because of psychological distress oh my god it's three
38:41million episodes take it or leave it come wednesday morning they're going to rename it charlie brothers
38:46and not warner brothers duh winning charlie claims to be sober in his various interviews and to that i
38:53would say what's your definition of being sober does that mean you haven't used an hour before the
38:58interview does that mean you haven't used a day and does that mean you're not going to use until you
39:04get
39:04into limo leaving the interview people can't figure me out they can't process me i don't expect them
39:08to you can't process me with a normal brain people that aren't special people that don't have tiger
39:12blood and you know adonis dna he is evidencing symptoms of hypomania mania is a tricky beast because
39:19mania often looks like the person's on drugs they're very disorganized they're sort of all over the map
39:24they're they don't seem to need sleep they look very disheveled if he hasn't slept enough and he hasn't
39:29been hydrated properly and he hasn't been taking the proper nutrients as far as eating these will
39:35all be factors into his seems like very spiky interviews you know where suddenly he's really
39:39manic and talking fast because an idea comes to him try to interrupt you hold on yeah and then he
39:46seems very lethargic and he's smoking a cigarette and he's his head's moving and he's wavering and
39:52it doesn't seem like he can stay on topic very well winner winner chicken dinner i don't think so
39:56winner winner sheen dinner in an interview charlie sheen admitted that his two girlfriends were in
40:03fact taking care of his uh two young twin boys we run errands we uh we eat we play with
40:08the kids
40:09we think of fun plans and execute yeah we watch movies i watch one two and a half minutes soon
40:16after
40:16that interview aired brooke muller actually filed a restraining order claiming that charlie had been
40:22verbally and physically abusive torture the judge did in fact grant her that restraining order and
40:28because of that charlie had to give up his children to police authorities what's happening recently with
40:35charlie can you tell us anything no i'm sorry a week later charlie was fired from two and a half
40:45men
40:46cbs warner brothers were not happy after talking so badly about the show they had to draw the line they
40:51couldn't let charlie continued to dictate the future of two and a half men the day that he was fired
41:02from two and a half men and charlie sheen was at the live nation building in beverly hills and he
41:08stood
41:09waving a machete just full-blown in the air as if it was a piece of paper it was definitely
41:14very disturbing
41:15when we see very outlandish somewhat dangerous actions that we've seen charlie sheen engage in
41:21we have to entertain all the possible hypotheses that would lead us to wonder why is this person
41:26having such a departure from their usual behavior and the usual suspects are drugs psychiatric problems
41:33or attention seeking and i think what's difficult in his case quite often we have all three
41:43on march 10 2011 charlie and brooke settled their custody battle out of court and the restraining
41:50order against charlie later expired the exact settlement will actually remain private but one
41:56of the important factors is that both charlie and brooke do have to submit to drug testing which is good
42:01because i think it'll encourage both of them to stay on track and stay sober so that they're able to
42:07see
42:07both of their children charlie sheen is a really really good guy really really loving father and
42:12i'm sure a very very loving husband but when you're under the influence of narcotics and alcohol
42:17i don't think that you can be any of those things at least with any consistency i think for
42:24the majority of charlie sheen's career we've known him as one of hollywood's wild bad boys accidental
42:30shootings of his fiance getting arrested going to court for criminal charges i think
42:36all of that is encompassed in what we're seeing and so it's nothing too surprising to see charlie
42:42still battling the same battles he's had since the 90s sex violence fear and greed that's what sells
42:48people want that destruction as much as we all say we don't want it but a train wreck's only funny
42:54for
42:54a little while if it's real pain i don't want to see that when i watch what's happening to charlie
42:58right
42:58now i'm very very sad this is someone that i've known for almost 25 years such a public disintegration
43:06is very difficult to watch he's a very gifted actor he's clearly very intelligent we've seen the best
43:12of him now we're seeing the worst of him and that's what we're being drawn to there's something
43:17absolutely eating him up inside and i think that it's now perpetuated itself into worldwide mania we
43:24are in the in the in the middle of a movement here i beg you all to stay glued to
43:27this raven wise gibson
43:29shredding napalm poet before you walk into my plan and you're gonna win win win the catchphrase of
43:36the year right now is winning having your children taken from you losing your job charges of assaulting
43:43women and everything if you consider that winning i'm not sure what planet that's winning on but it's
43:47not not earth not as far as i'm concerned i think the best thing charlie can do to salvage his
43:52reputation
43:53is first of all admit that he's an addict he needs to get clean once he's ready i think he
43:59should
43:59flat out come out and apologize admit that he was wrong he needs to show a bit of humility because
44:04right now we're seeing the opposite there's people openly talking about will he die soon knowing charlie
44:10probably not but does that mean that someone else isn't going to get injured or die or something else
44:14horrible isn't going to happen you know i don't know how much lower it has to get
