00:00The Huawei Mate X is reportedly arriving tomorrow and I'll be sharing all the details right after this.
00:12If you're new here and want to stay up to date with the latest tech, please hit subscribe, followed by
00:17the bell.
00:17So not only is the Huawei Mate X supposedly arriving tomorrow, we get two different versions of the device,
00:24both are 5G and prices are also much cheaper than we initially thought.
00:27According to Huawei Central, there's going to be two versions of the Huawei Mate X.
00:32One is going to be powered by the Kirin 980 system on chip along with the Belong 5000 modem for
00:385G connectivity
00:39and the more premium model will be sporting the latest Kirin 990 system on chip
00:44and that has integrated 5G so both models will be 5G compatible.
00:49Neowin previously went hands-on with the Mate X and confirmed the existence of a Huawei Mate X with the
00:54latest Kirin 990 system on chip.
00:56This will provide better performance along with better battery life.
01:00There are rumours of a larger battery capacity on this version thanks to the additional space, but this is still
01:06unconfirmed.
01:07As well as this, the Kirin 990 adds 4K, 60 frames a second support for the camera.
01:13Neowin also reported that the Mate X contains the same RYYB camera that we have in the P30 series to
01:20enable better low-light images.
01:21When it comes to the design of the Huawei Mate X, it has a single display on the outside of
01:27the fold.
01:28The display is a flexible 8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2480 by 2200.
01:34When the display is folded, it transforms into a dual display device with one side being a 6.6-inch
01:40screen at a resolution of 2480 by 1148
01:44and the other side being 6.38 inches at 2480 by 892.
01:49Of course, the Mate X is powered by the 7nm Kirin 980 system on chip and also the Kirin 990.
01:56It comes with 8GB of RAM and 512 internal storage and it also has nano memory card support, meaning we
02:03can extend up to 256GB.
02:06When it comes to cameras, the 980 version reportedly has a 40MP main sensor, an 8MP telephoto, a 16MP ultrawide
02:15and finally a 3D time-of-flight depth sensor.
02:18When it comes to the 990, there are reports of the main sensor being the same as the P30s and
02:24there are also rumours of a 5x periscope lens, but these haven't been confirmed yet.
02:29The Kirin 980 Mate X is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and if the rumours are true, the 990
02:36version will have a slightly larger capacity.
02:39The device was rumoured to be launching around $2,500, but Huawei sent you with leaks and pricing info that
02:46says the 980 model is going to be around $1,400, whereas the Kirin 990 version will be just under
02:52$2,000.
02:53Given that folding devices are still new to the market, we're unsure of how successful they'll be, and while we
02:59expect a China launch for the Mate X tomorrow, we still haven't had any official confirmations from Huawei.
03:05Huawei's president did however share the Mate X 5G performance yesterday.
03:09In the image shared, he shows us that it was able to achieve a download speed of 745Mbps, and the
03:16great thing about the Mate X is it's compatible with the mainstream 4G and 5G networks worldwide.
03:22It's great to see that the device may finally be making it to market, but as always, I'd like to
03:27know your thoughts in the comments.
03:29What do you think of the Mate X? Is anyone out there getting one? And will you be going for
03:33the Kirin 980 or the Kirin 990 version?
03:37But thanks for watching the video, if you liked it, smash a thumbs up. If you didn't, hit the thumbs
03:41down twice, and I'll see you guys in the next one.
03:58If you liked it, hit the thumbs up. If you liked it, hit the thumbs up. If you liked it,
