00:00Pia Sundhager has been one of the most influential coaches in the women's game,
00:05leading the USA to two Olympic gold medals, Sweden to Olympic silver and Brazil to a Copa
00:13America Femenina. And star players have come easily, including modern greats like Fridolina
00:21Rolfa, Amanda Illichstedt and Magdalena Eriksson. Eriksson was a member of the Sweden squad that
00:32reached back-to-back major tournament semi-finals, falling to the eventual champions of both the
00:382023 World Cup and Euro 2022. They were only narrowly beaten by Spain in 2023,
00:50but a year earlier, they were ruthlessly hammered 4-0 by England.
00:56Yeah, I feel really disappointed at the moment. This is a tough one to take for us. We of course
01:02wanted more in this tournament, but it didn't go our way today. England are brutally effective as a
01:09team and yeah, we just wasn't enough today. What I think we can take from this though,
01:14is that we have had amazing fans. I had a bunch of messages coming into the dressing room from people
01:20who truly support us in thick and in thin, you know, not the haters that, you know, just saw this
01:29game and got disappointed. No, we have true fans who will lift Sweden for the future tournaments and
01:37future games. With such pedigree, Sweden's women will surely double their tally of major titles
01:45eventually. We know how good we are. We have been performing the last tournaments. We can see it in
01:53the World Cup and the Olympics where we have, we, in the end, we had a medal. So we have
02:00to be proud and
02:01we have to work really hard for reaching the top. And when Sweden do reach the top, it will be
02:09a
02:09fitting reward for a well-rounded football nation.
