00:00Hello everybody. My name is Joe Qureshi. Welcome to Niagara College. Welcome to the beautiful
00:05peninsula of Niagara. This is Western Ontario where the beautiful Niagara Falls, the Cardinal
00:12Educational Institute that it has. So standing next to me is Susan Payon. Susan is one of the
00:19directors and in charge of the Teaching SPAR program, which is a diploma program that the
00:25college offers to all its students enrolled inside its medical aesthetics or its aesthetics
00:32program in general. Today is a big medical leap that the college has taken. Hello, Susan.
00:39Hi, Joe. How are you? I'm great. Thank you for coming. The sun is out and we've been having a
00:43lot of snow here, actually. We got lots of snow the last couple of weeks here, but the sun's shining.
00:48Thank you very much for choosing Incredible Devices and giving us the opportunity today
00:56to become your partners in teaching hundreds of students that go through your campuses.
01:04Oh, thank you for wanting to work with us. This is just a start. It's a team. It's a great
01:09tag team and thank you for your willingness to work with the community college and give us the chance
01:13to be a partner with you. Well, you're always welcome. I mean, it's a government college. It's
01:17publicly funded. It's taxpayers' money and we wanted to make sure that we actually give the best of
01:23innovation and the best of technology and to leap that in. On my left side is Incredible Devices
01:32Chief Trainer, a veteran for years of training experience in the medical device business. We
01:39have Manisha Fraser next to us. Hello, Manisha. Hello, Joe. How are you? I'm great. I'm loving being here
01:45and meeting this great team at Niagara College. It's been an honor. Thank you for flying in from
01:49Edmonton. You're more than welcome. You have a great resource here. You're really lucky. Thank you.
01:56Oh, you're welcome. So we don't want to keep everybody outside. I think we can talk more as we
02:01walk into. Can you give us a little tour of the campus? Let's go. Okay, let's do that. Very modern
02:07building. I'm very impressed, actually, because I have been here once before. So how old has this
02:13program been at Niagara College? The program itself has been here for 20 years. The campus is absolutely
02:21amazing. Okay, so you said that the program actually has been around for nearly two decades. Yeah,
02:29what a vibe. I know last time I was here was packed with students. There was career fairs going on.
02:34I do see a
02:35sign, actually. We're in the north wing right now, and we are going into the east wing right now,
02:42which is where we can find the esthetician program and the Niagara Teaching Spa. That's amazing. Yes,
02:48we'll have a little walk through there. Have you ever experienced a teaching spa at a college anywhere?
02:54Not at this magnitude, no. It is very professional, very well organized, and wow, the number of students
03:01that I saw today is very impressive. It speaks numbers, right? So you guys have a teaching spa
03:08sign outside. You guys put that out for us? We know we're coming in for training? Yeah, we did, actually.
03:12How did you know? I don't know. I think the students actually really must be, because everybody's into
03:18aesthetics these days. Everybody. We have a great clientele that comes and supports our student.
03:24This is the teaching spa right here. Oh, beautiful. Look at this. This is amazing. Yes, let's just give
03:30you guys a little tour. Let's go inside. Hello. How are you? Sandra, our spa manager. Well, nice to meet
03:36you, Sandra. My name's Joe. A first year student. Hello, Carissa. Nice to meet you. Our first year
03:43students is helping out with the spa operations now. So our students are really immersed in the
03:48experiential learning components. This is amazing. I'm so impressed. Like, I don't see this. What a
03:54great facility you guys have. We literally just walked right in. And today we're doing training
04:02on some new medical. We'll keep that a little surprise. I don't know if you guys kind of know
04:07about that or not. But it's going to be a great day today, actually. And we have Munisha, who's our
04:12chief trainer. She's flown in from Edmonton. So your students are learning and you have paid clients that
04:18are coming in. That's correct. Yep. At probably a discounted price. Yeah, we have very attractive prices.
04:23That's fantastic. And what's the wall behind you? Is this something where you just start?
04:27It's a retail center. Oh, beautiful. So you guys even have a retail center. We have a retail center
04:30as well, where we have the products that we teach the students. Those are the products that they
04:36suggest and recommend to the clients post-treatment. Perfect. And so this is where the students get
04:42probably the practical and the theoretical learning. Exactly. And of course, on that side is where you'll
04:48actually have the full-fledged spa there, basically. Yes. You can take a quick peek there.
04:53Okay. Let's just do a very quick peek there. Oh, beautiful. What a gorgeous setup. You know,
04:59Susan, I got to really appreciate because I am committed. Thank you very much for showing us this.
05:05So let's walk towards the classroom there, actually. We're going to be conducting the training.
05:09So let's sit down. And there is our fantastic classroom, actually, right? So we've got
05:19everything displayed here. What a great moment. Let's grab a seat and just ask Susan some questions.
05:26Susan. Hi, Joe.
05:27So the questions and answers. Sure. I have a couple of questions only. And I think this is going to
05:33be
05:33amazing for the students of Niagara College. And let alone, I think Niagara College sort of plants
05:41the seed for becoming a voice of reason for many others that are actually going to watch us today.
05:48And my questions are sort of core and based around that. Can I have a little bit of background
05:52of yours, if that's okay? Sure. Yes. So my name is Susan Payone. I've been teaching here
05:57at the Niagara College Esthetician program for about 18, going on 19 years, right? 18, 19.
06:04Yeah. Yeah. That's years. I know. We've given you a lot.
06:08Prior to that, of course, I was an esthetician working in the industry, doing several different
06:12things from education to technical training, supply, networking with different distributors.
06:20But my passion has always been with education, which is how I found myself landing here at Niagara
06:23College. Excellent. Well, thank you very much. And I think I got to thank Susan here for giving us the
06:29opportunity. Obviously, again, it's a great day for us today. Gotten into the college with
06:38incredible devices, premier medical devices being the basis of where students are actually going to learn.
06:45Can you just highlight a little bit about the diploma program that's being offered here?
06:51Sure. Yeah. So we're a two-year esthetician program. So we have four terms from which the students learn
06:57a variety of different fundamental aesthetics, meaning they're learning hand care, foot care,
07:02body care, makeup, and skin care over four terms, where they will learn the basic fundamentals,
07:10but then also trying to incorporate some of these newer devices into our curriculum for the diploma
07:15program. Why did you choose the incredible device, man? I mean, you got the incredible SkinBride
07:20multi-IPL that's right behind us, which obviously you're going to be teaching hair removal to your
07:27students. You actually have the skin rejuvenation part of it, which helps suffering from acne,
07:36pigmentation, rosacea, you know, vascular broken capillaries, or even skin rejuvenation in general.
07:43So, you know, that's a lot for them to grasp. And then, of course, I think investing into the skin
07:50analyzer, which is very AI-driven, perhaps can be something that acts like more of a prescribing doctor,
07:57right? And then the trend, the OxygenCeuticals Korean glass facial. Why did you think that these were
08:07the first primary sort of devices? And of course, Niagara College, and we have so many other colleges,
08:15we have Durham College, we have Seneca College, but Niagara College has one of the best programs.
08:22I've loved this. I've loved the campus. We've just took a tour. We've done a walk around the campus.
08:28It's absolutely like you guys have a teaching spa. I've seen a teaching hospital, but you guys have
08:32a teaching spa where, you know, you have actual customers coming in. What made you choose the
08:40incredible device brand? So thank you for noticing all those beautiful things about Niagara College.
08:45And we're very, we're very proud to be facilitators here and trailblazers in the industry. And simple
08:54answer for why Aesthetic Depot and incredible devices, it's because of innovation and the technology
09:03with all of the devices that we have. Accessibility and the willingness really of support that you have
09:11all provided to us from our beginning of our journey, which has been several months now. And
09:16we're happy we made the right choice. Well, thank you. Thank you very much. I don't want to take a
09:20whole lot of your time because this is a step in the right direction. I see you have two semesters.
09:26You have a September semester and you have a January semester. And then, of course, having 60-odd students
09:33registered. I think the landscape's being set up where, you know, the next batch of graduates that are
09:40actually going to come out of learning are going to have hands-on learning and experiences with real
09:47life patients or clients within your college so that tomorrow when they are either looking for
09:56a job or they're actually going to become entrepreneurs and start something of your own,
10:02you've actually planted the right seeds. So I'm very grateful to be sitting besides you and
10:08a lot of your instructors who I've met have a very similar zeal to make your students extremely
10:15successful. So I want to thank you as the CEO of the company. I couldn't have better words and could
10:21have found a better time to actually come and do this and meet you in person. But I stay committed
10:27to
10:28help all your students in their journey so that they can pave their path to glory and be part of
10:35this
10:35incredible journey with starting from Niagara College and ending with incredible devices. So
10:41thank you very much. Thank you very much. It's been a pleasure. Thank you. Great to partner with you.
